CHRISTMAS HAD BEEN different ever since Wanda and Nat had gotten together. It was beautiful. They lay together in bed, or wrapped in a warm blanket on the sofa in front of the fire, watching films on replay.

Wanda had always dreamed of having someone to share the holiday with, ever since she lost Pietro to Ultron, she'd been alone. But Natasha had been there.

Nat, on the other hand, craved the attention of the holiday, knowing that the only real one she would celebrate would be the ones with the Avengers. The team knew about her childhood, and her sister, who'd only recently joined, only ever looked longingly at the tree, knowing that that year would her first proper year free from Dreykov and his mind games.

Wanda tried everything she could to lighten the mood when she saw what was going through Nat's head, but occasionally, the very rare occasion it was, Nat was only burst into tears, wrap herself in Wanda's warm arms and mourn the loss of her childhood.

It wasn't that she didn't feel the same, Wanda knew how much she'd lost as a child, but her whole body felt way too numb to even start tackling the memories that floated around her head. Besides, things were looking up.

Christmas morning came quickly, and even though there were people waiting downstairs for them, Wanda and Nat chose to keep on sleeping. That was until Tony came thrashing at their bedroom door, yelling at them until Nat got up just to slam the door in his face. He got the message, nodded with content and made his way back down to the kitchen.

Nat, who was now fully awake, kissed her wife on the forehead before trudging into the bathroom. In a few minutes, Wanda had followed, and slipped her arms around Nat's waist.

"Morning, beautiful." She murmured, her voice still raspy and thick with sleep.

Nat dried her face of water and kissed her wife again. "Heya, love."

After a few more kisses, she muttered, "Why do you have to be so pretty?"

Wanda chuckled. "You tell me why you've got to be so hot, then I'll give you my answer."

Nat shrugged in happy defeat. "You- it's too early for this."

"It's half nine."

"I repeat. Too early."

"You're just grumpy because you haven't had your coffee yet." Wanda tapped the tip of Nat's nose playfully.

Nat grumbled. "And it-"

Wanda put her hand over her wife's mouth and nodded. "Yes. I know, too early. Buuuuut . . . you won't be complaining after tou find out what I got you."

Unnecessarily, Nats eyes widened, and as she skipped behind Wanda on their way down stairs, she began to find her voice again. "You're really not going to tell me what it is?"

Wanda shook her head. Nat waited about ten seconds before trying again. "Really?"

"No! Not gonna happen. Be patient."

"What if I threatened to not have sex with you for the week?" Nat cocked an eyebrow as Wanda's pace physically slowed.

"Now I think you taking this too far." She laughed a they turned the corner into the kitchen.

"Fine, fine. Morning, you stupid lot." Nat said, grabbing two mugs and draining the coffee pot. She slid one along the counter towards Wanda. "Thank you, my love."

"Morning." Maria called, then stood up and whispered something into Nat's ear. Wanda looked between them and narrowed her eyes. She knew how hot Maria was, and that they'd had something before-

This was not the time for petty accusations. Wanda composed herself and returned to sipping her coffee and chattering with Peter. When Nat laughed at something Maria said, Maria walked off towards the bathroom.

"Everything okay?" Wanda asked as Nat placed a short kiss on her lips.

"Just perfect, baby. Just happy to be here with you."

Wanda blushed. "Merry Christmas, honey."

Nat grinned. "Merry Christmas to you too, Wands."
