The Six Campers and The Soldier: A Camp Cretaceous Story (OC fanfiction)

Step One

I......don't know what to do. There he stands just a few feet away and I don't believe what my eyes tell me is real. Yaz is wide eyed, she can't believe it either. I walk over to him and stand directly in front of him. He clears his throat. "Ryan....Yasmina." He says, holding his hand out.

SLAP!

I slap him hard across the face. "Owww, what did you do that for?" He says holding his face. I pull him into a hug. He's real, I'm not dreaming, am I? "You're real, your alive....?" I break from Ben as he smiles. "I'm okay, Ryan, I'm real." I hear Yaz run over and hug Ben. He looks very surprised, I join in, wrapping my arms around both of them. "You're a hugger now, Fadoula?" Ben questions. "Still have mixed feelings about it but you're alive, so shut up about it." She says as she tightens the hug. "It's good to have you back Skits." I say as Ben smiles at the old nickname. We all break from the hug as Brooklynn and Kenji walk over. "Yeah, we have been trying to tell you but we have more pressing concerns. Darius and Sammy are leading Mitch and Tiff to Rexy." Brooklynn says. "But why?" Ben asks not knowing what I said earlier. "It's a trap. Darius and Sammy know Main Street. They can hunker down in cover as Rexy does the work for them." Everyone nods on acceptance. "Well, what are we waiting for, let's go help them." Yaz says but Kenji does bring up a point. "One problem, we will never make it to Main Street before them." But Brooklynn brings up another way. "There is one other way." Kenji looks horrified. "Down there? Don't you remember what happened last time. Not only is it super dark and creepy but we almost died. No. No go for Kenji."

The Tunnels:

"We're doing this!" Brooklynn says as Kenji groans in front of her. Kenji, Brooklynn and Yaz are on the motorbike while I ride with Ben on Bumpy. "Left." Kenji says as Brooklynn sharply turns. I'm so glad, I didn't draw the short end of the stick, Brooklynn drives like a madwoman. "Now right." Kenji exclaims as he tightens his hold on the bikes light. Suddenly we come to a stop. A maintenance gate is in the way. Kenji whimpers as he falls to the ground. Me and Ben hop off Bumpy. I hold my axe as I look behind to make sure nothing is around. "Let's take this down, Bumps." Ben says as he taps the gate. Bumpy charges and swings her massive tail. The gate stands strong. Ben is bewildered as he stares back at Bumpy. The dino tries again twice but fails. Ben gets frustrated and begins punching and kicking the gate. "Yeah, I don't think Wild Child and his Amazing Dino are going to punch through that gate." Yaz says jokingly. "Yaz....Play nice." I say as she smiles back to me. "Maybe Bumpy just needs a little pep talk to bring it down." Kenji says, really mate, you're going to pep talk an Ankylosaur. Good luck.

Kenji kneels down at Bumpy's eye level. "You're not going to let a door stand in your way are you, Bumpy? You break barriers. Barriers don't break you!" He says with enthusiasm. Bumpy playfully knocks Kenji over as Ben continues to try and break the door down. "Ben, that enough, you're not going be able to get through." I say, bringing Ben out of his anger. "What do we do now?" Kenji says. We are running out of options on what to do. "We need to take a detour. This tunnel isn't the only one that leads to Main Street." Everyone nods. We turn around and begin finding another way. Hang on Darius, Sammy, we are coming.

We move not even three metres before Brooklynn stops. "Why are we stopping?" I say, she gets off the bike. "Do you hear that?" A whirring sound is heard, ok, what the fuck is that? We follow Brooklynn down a dark corridor, she stops at an access door. "If there's electricity down here, we can find a way to raise that gate." She says as she takes out a card. That's new. The door is unlocked. Cold air rushes through the doorway. Everyone, par myself, is shivering. "Whoa. It's cold enough in here to-." "Freeze flowers." Brooklynn says as she interrupts Ben. "Is that a thing people say now." He questions. "Don't worry about it buddy." I say as I pass him. We continue to walk for several minutes. The humming noise is getting louder. Brooklynn rushes to a door. "It's coming from here!" She says as she unlocks the door with the card. Inside is something that I've never seen before. It looks like a control room. "Oh snap! It must be a backup generator control room." Kenji says as he spots the power box. "We just need to find a way to raise that gate so we can get to Darius and Sammy. Start looking!" Brooklynn says as she sits in the chair.
