A.N: Forewarning, there is a lemon in this chapter. If they aren't your thing you can skip to *End Lemon* to continue on. Sorry in advance if the scene is cringe, I've never written one.

P.O.V Change: Ryan

The sun has risen over the horizon, I hold Yaz as she lets all her emotions out in a much-needed release. Kenji and Brooklynn were standing not far from us, and Sammy was sitting next to Yaz. Yaz stands up as she looks out to the horizon. Sammy stands up with her and lays a comforting hand on her shoulder. "We'll make it home, Yaz." Sammy says which Yaz just gives a tired sigh. "Say it enough times and it's gotta be true, right?" Yaz says. I walk up to her. "Because it is. Whatever it takes." I say which she smiles gratefully at me. We begin walking back up to the airlock, catching up with Kenji and Brooklynn on the way.

The airlock opens as Mae, Ben and Darius run out to us. "The plane left without you." Mae says. No shit. "I'm so sorry. I don't understand what is going on here, but I promise with every fibre of my being to get you back home." Mae says determinedly. "No, we're not leaving." Darius says which I narrow my eyes. "Who the fuck are you to say that?" I say with gritted teeth. Darius looks at me as does everyone else. "I know what you're going to say. That we have to stay to help the dinosaurs well.......fuck that!" I shout at as everyone backs away. Darius looks at me, scared. "You don't get to decide what we do. We don't belong here. We have families, people that think we are dead, and you want us to stay here where death is just one mistake away. I want to go home, Darius. I am done risking my life for problems that are not my own." I say angrily. Yaz's PTSD, the nightmares that everyone is having, the time we have spent away from our families and the constant risk of death has made me realise that we shouldn't keep risking our lives for this. "I thought that you cared about dinosaurs." Darius says to me which I narrow my eyes and grab him by his shirt and push him against the wall. "Ryan, what are you doing?" "Let him go!" Brooklynn and Ben scream to me but I ignore them. "Listen here, you little shit! I care more about us living than dinosaurs. Yaz is suffering and you don't even care. All you care about are dinosaurs and not what we think!" I scream at him. "You just decided on a whim that we would stay, you didn't stop to ask what we all felt. You are a selfish and cruel human being, Darius." I say to him as tears start to well in his eyes. "Ryan." Yaz calls out to me as I see her in the corner of my eye. "Let him go." She says softly to me as she holds my arm softly, I slowly release Darius from my grip.

"We'll stay. We don't have any other choice." Yaz says to me, pointing out to me that the plane is gone, and we are still stuck. May as help where we can. "Fine." I say as I walk away from Darius who wipes his tears away. "Right. Now that that is sorted. We have to get Pierce back to the desert biome and since the plane is gone, that means the food has been unloaded and sent." Mae says as she heads to the airlock. "We'll go check the T-Rex area to make sure that the BRADs haven't tampered with the food." Brooklynn says as me and Yaz walk up to the door. "Sammy, go with them." I say to Sammy who nods. I look down at Yaz and see that she has heavy bags under her eyes. "You guys sort out that food and Pierce's situation. I take Yaz back to the cave where she can get her rest." I say which Yaz smiles gratefully as she clasps my hand. "Sure." "You guys go ahead, we got this." Brooklynn and Ben say. "Once you guys are done. We'll meet back at Mae's to.....discuss how to get home." Yaz says as she looks between myself and Darius. As the others walk away, Yaz turns to me and whispers. "Thank you." She says in which I nod.

We arrive back at the cave and Yaz heads to the bedroom. I walk to the kitchen and pour two glasses of water. I enter the room and see Yaz struggling to sleep. I place a glass next to her on the bedside before walking around to my own. "I think I might have forgotten how to fall asleep." She says as I sit down and lay beside her. "Sleep is hard, especially with trauma. Your mind is constantly reminding you of said trauma. My dad told once that sleeping is worse than staying awake sometimes." I say to her which she just grunts. "How did he overcome it?" She asks. "He remembered the good times rather than the bad. Mom helped him, kept his mind occupied. Boredom can really fuck with you, so she just gave him something to do. Work, hanging out with friends and.......other things." I say that last part awkwardly. Yaz laughs as she understands the meaning. Yaz rolls onto her side and groans in pain. "You ok?" I ask as I lean over her. "It's just my shoulder, I hurt somewhere, don't know how but I did." She says as I get up and wake to the kitchen. "I'll be right back."
