Nursery/Prison:

Hours have gone by since Kenji and Kon left the nursery. I sit in the corner of the cage, aimlessly starting off at nothing. The past few days have finally caught up and all I can feel is the heavy weight of defeat. We made mistakes, underestimated Kon's deception and misplaced our trust with Kenji. What I said to Kon, came from somewhere deep and dark on my soul, I promised him that he would remember me, and I swear to whatever god will hear me, I'll make sure that he does. But what I said to Kenji.....that was the truth. Kenji and I never truly got along, but the months on Nublar had chipped at our rivalry and made something close to friends.....but we are family, we all are. Kenji became my brother, a trusted confidant that would always have my back. I wanted to remind him that it was me and the rest of us that looked out for him, stood by his side.....I hoped to place some doubt within Kenji about his father's motives and the fact that he was not looking for him within those six months. I just hope that after Kenji has calmed down.....he'll think about what we are saying and what I said to him. But as of right now, the weight of defeat is just bearing down on us. I gaze around the cage and see Brooklynn and Sammy sitting side by side. Sammy gazes up at the ceiling, tracing whatever she can find with her eyes. Brooklynn sits with her knees up against her chest, I can vaguely see that her eyes are gleaming from silent tears. Ben sits on the other side of Brooklynn, facing her. He sharpens the spare bone that he kept hidden from Kon and the BRAD's, lucky bastard.....Kon made sure that the BRAD's took my axe and knives....only to assume that Kon raided our rooms in case we had something else, so the AR is definitely home as well. I hear Yaz grunt as I gaze down and see her doing some situps....she's up to fifty and still going. I glance at the other side of the cage and see Darius standing and facing the mural of an adult Giganotosaurus, chasing what looks to be a Gallimimus but I can't be too sure. Yaz breaks my thoughts as she continues to count. "65......66.....67." She says as I sigh. "Yaz...." I say tiredly as she sit-ups and faces me. I know that she uses working out as a method of distracting herself but right now......we just need to sit in silence. She sit-ups and gazes around the room silently before nodding. She sits back against the cage wall and leans her head onto my shoulder.

I look down in sadness as I lean my head against hers. "He left us." I hear Brooklynn say softly as we all par Darius face her. She sinks her head further into the crook of her knees. "I can't believe he just......left us." She wipes her tears away and curls further into her knees. I pay Yaz's leg as she raises her head, I get up and walk over and sit beside Brooklynn. She doesn't acknowledge me but I wrap my arm around her shoulders and draw her close to me, the floodgates open and her emotions are just......let out. She leans her head on my chest as I give her a hug, no words can explain the heartbreak and betrayal that we feel..... Brooklynn most of all. The others draw closer and join in on the hug. Brooklynn's tears turn to sniffles as she breaks from me, the tigers give her some room as she wipes her tears away. "Thanks, guys." She says quietly, I place my hand on her shoulder. "No matter what.....we're here for you." I say as Yaz, Sammy and Ben nod in agreement. Brooklynn brushes a strand of brown hair from her eyes, but she suddenly turns her lips in a snarl and pulls the hair from her braid. Her hair falls losses to her shoulder blades, her dye near all but gone, leaving on the roots, pink. We watch cautiously, not wanting to aggravate her, due to the angry display. Her facial expression drops from anger to sadness as she clutches the braid close to her and puts it in her jacket pocket.

"I don't get it." "Why would he do this?" Brooklynn and Yaz say respectively. "You think you know a guy." Ben says with a sigh as Sammy nods awkwardly. "Yeah....what you all said." She says as she turns her head to Darius who still is facing the wall, his fists clenched tightly. "What do you think, Dar-." Sammy starts to say but Darius interrupts her by holding his hand up. "Four, three, two, one." He says on the dot, he faces the door which clicks open. A BRAD-X walks in and scans us with its green scanner. I blink when the light shines in my eyes. The BRAD's eyes beep blue and speaks. "All accounted for." It says before turning around and walks out of the nursery, footing closing behind it. As soon as it leaves, Darius turns to us with a look of determination on his face. "All right, listen up. That BRAD patrols every half hour. Which means we have 30 minutes to find a way out of here." He says as he walks over and checks the fixed box. We all narrow our eyes and get to work. I walk over to Darius and pat him on the back. "Well done." I say with a proud smile, he nods his head appreciatively as he goes back to the box. "Let me try." I say as he nods. "Ben, hand me the bone." I ask as he passes me it, I force the bone in the fuse box's edge and pry it open. A lot of electrical wiring but none that seem to pop out to open the cage. Might as well start to sort out where they go and where they came from.
