Woods. Chapter 15.

it's been a few weeks since I went to Jackie's house and still none of the sandlot boys know what happened, I'm planning on telling them today but I'm not sure.

"Hey Benny!" I said happily. "Hey." Benny said, he looked down and kind of guilty? "What's wrong?" I asked. "nothing." I could tell he was lying. "Benny, tell me what's wrong" I demanded. "It's just that- what if when we go to school, we'll slowly start to drift apart? Like you find another boy, and leave me for him." Benny said with a serious face.

"What! Why would you ever think that?!" I questioned. "I don't know... maybe I'm being stupid." Benny said fidgeting with the button on his jersey. "it's gonna be okay Benny, nothing is ever gonna come between us. I promise." I said reassuring him. "pinky promise?" Benny said holding out his pinky. "pinky promise." I smiled and latched my pinky onto his.

"Besides, it's only June 25th, we still have a month!" I said smiling. "I guess your right." Benny said. "Well it looks like the boys won't be coming today. ugh" I stated. Benny smirked and grabbed my hand gently. He ran with me without saying a word. "Benny where are we going!!!" He didn't respond he just grinned widely.

I rolled my eyes and kept running. We then made it to these woods? "Benny what are we doing here..." I asked concerned. "You'll see." He winked and led me into the woods.

I grabbed on tight to his hand and squeezed it. I never wanted to admit this but.. I was scared, like really scared. what if we get lost?! That was my only concern right now. "Benny please tell me where we're going" I asked bitting my nails. We were now walking and he still wouldn't answer. "BENJAMIN!" I yelled. He jumped.

"what?!?" He whipped his face to me. "Where are we going!!!" I asked as if I didn't say it thousand times. "Somewhere." That's all he said. I was fed up with it. I was scared that we were gonna get lost. I was mad.

I let go of his hand and stopped walking. "Why'd you do that?!" Benny whipped around. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me where we're going!!!" I said eagerly. "No! It's a surprise." Benny rolled his eyes. "then I'm not going!" I yelled back. We kept arguing for good 10 minutes until we heard something in the bushes.

We both froze, I jumped and ran to Benny. I grabbed his waist tightly and didn't let go. He grabbed onto my waist and looked around. "What was that Benny?" I asked pulling away a little.

"I'm not sure.." Benny said still looking everywhere. "Benny, can we get out of here please?" I asked worried. "No. Not until you see the surprise" he said annoyed. "Benny please!!" I yelled. "I'm scared.." I mumbled. He ignored what I said and grabbed my waist. He started to walk but I didn't want too so I pulled back.

"Come on! It was probably nothing. Let's just get going." He said annoyed. "fine." I gave in. We kept on walking for another 30 minutes. "Benny I'm tireddd" I groaned. "Get on my back" he said. I groaned once again, but did what he told me to do. I layed my head down and closed my eyes. 10 minutes passed and we were finally there.

"Tada!" Benny said. "A LAKE?! A lake is what you wanted to show me?! We walked for what- 2 hours just for a lake!!!" I was so upset. "What? Do you not like it?" Benny asked with a confused look. "No! I like it, I guess. I mean it's pretty I just don't think it was necessary to walk 2hours just for a lake. Plus I don't even have my swimsuit."

"You don't need a swimsuit." Benny said blankly, zoning out. "What do you mean?" I asked. "What? Nothing!" Benny snapped out. "Okay... anyways, now what are we gonna do?" I asked. "we could... go back?" Benny suggested. "Nice try. It'll take so long to get back. Also, what if whatever was in those bushes could be back?" I stated. "Nah, I don't think so. Let's just go, so we can cuddle at my house!" Benny said smiling widely. "Fineee." I gave in.

After an hour of walking I stopped. "Let's go, no breaks. I wanna get out of here" Benny said. "Babe, I don't feel good. I'm too tired to walk anymore steps." I sighed. Benny turned around and walked to me. "here get on my back. I'll carry you." He offered. "Alright.." I mumbled slowly getting on. I rested my head on his shoulder. He started humming a song, I think it was... 'this magic moment' ? I'm not sure.

I soon felt my surroundings getting darker, and darker, then pitch black. "Clara, we're almost there." Benny said. I didn't answer. "Clara?" He whipped me around and carried me bridal style. his eyes widened but then realized I was just sleeping. Benny smiled and pecked my lips, then started walking again.

About 20 minutes later I heard a soft voice, "Clara, we're out of the woods, wake up" I opened my eyes and see Benny smiling at me. I smiled back of course. "Are we out?" I asked getting up. "Yes we are" Benny smiled. "YES!" I screamed. Benny jumped. "I didn't know you were this excited to get out." Benny chuckled.

"Cmon! Let's go to your house and cudd-" I got cut off by my phone ringing. "Let's see who that is.." I say picking up my phone. "Oh it's my mom! She says it's time for dinner. Maybe we can cuddle tomorrow?" I asked Benny. "sure.. that's.. uhh... that's fine." He said acting suspicious. I cocked an eyebrow but then quickly texted my mom back.

We talked and laughed the whole way back. Soon it came to an end. "Well, bye love, see you tomorrow!" I smiled and kissed him passionately. He kissed back of course. "bye mi amor." He smiled and ran across the street. I walked back to my house.

"I'm back mom!" I yelled and went into the kitchen. "Hey sweetie. I fixed up some dinner for you, and Benny. If he wanted to stay." She smiled. My eyes widened but then went to normal. "I didn't know Benny could stay!" I eagerly said. "Well, I guess it's too late!" She chuckled. I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

After dinner I got ready for bed, I took a nice warm shower and got into some Christmas pjs even though it wasn't Christmas. I plopped into bed and turned on the TV. I turned on 'Avatar the last airbender' it was one of my favorite shows at the moment. A couple hours passed and I finally turned off the TV. I was getting settled in bed until I heard a rock thrown at my window.

I got startled and slowly got up. "Who could that be?" I whispered to myself. I peeked out the window only to see the one and only, Benny Rodriguez.

I quickly opened my window. "Benny! What are you doing here?!" I whispered yelled. "I wanted to cuddle with you! So I thought maybe we could right now?" He said innocently. I groaned. "Fine. Come on up." I rolled my eyes. "YAyY!" Benny said happily. "what if my mom finds out Benny?" I said worried while Benny was climbing in.

"Don't worry babe, if she does, I'll explain everything to her." Benny reassured me. I sighed and nodded my head yes. "Come on" I said patting my bed for him to lay next to me. He was in is pjs and had his clothes tomorrow in his hands, but then set those down.

He plopped in my bed and made himself comfortable. He snuggled his head into my chest. I started to play with his hair as we both slowly drifted into a deep sleep happily.
