(Still on the first day, during lunchtime)

Y/N'S POV

"Y/NNNNN LET'S GO TO THE CAFETERIA BEFORE THE YAKISOBA BREADS WERE SOLD OUT!!!" Ugh that loud ass cousin really doesn't have a slow down volume button.. y/n grumbles as she apologized to her classmates for the sudden interruption, earning an okays by her classmates, some doesn't show any interest, some are judging. Well, none of them matter to her. She grabs her lunch box, before that she looks at the pretty boy, he seems like he doesn't have any friend. So, she decided to invite him to have a lunch together.

"Say, Akashi right?"

"It's Ah-ka-ah-shi" she blushed a little after being corrected and continued her main purpose "Sorry, Akaashi-san, would you like to have a lunch with us?"

Akaashi was genuinely confused. Did she really invited him to have a lunch together? Him? A boring person? With nothing interesting to talk about? Usually people would ignore him, and he is okay with that. He has books as his friend, so he doesn't really care if he don't have any friends. But, seeing himself being approached by a girl that shines like a sun, he felt so intrigued. It reminds him of that one time at the playground. "Sure" was the only his answer.

Y/n, on the other hand, was so excited after her invitation was being accepted by the pretty boy. She doesn't expect him to accept it immediately assuming that he is a person who likes to be alone. Well, keiji usually does like to be left alone, but maybe there's something different about y/n that made him change his way of thinking?

As the both first years reached the classroom's door, they were greeted by Koutaro. "AYEEE Y/N!! ALREADY MADE A FRIEND?? WOAHH A BOY!" Kou, gave her a smirk while wiggling his eyebrows.

Y/n gave Koutaro a smack on the shoulder, "oh shut it Kou don't make it weird. This is Akaashi Keiji, Akaashi san, this is Bokuto Koutaro, my stupid cousin".

Earning a "HEY IM NOT STUPID" by Kou, Keiji replied "I know him. He's a star player of Fukurodani's volleyball team".

"HEY HEY HEYYY Y/N DID YOU HEAR THAT?? HE CALLED ME A STAR!! I THINK WE COULD BE BESTIES ALREADY!! DO YOU PLAY VOLLEYBALL?? IF SO, DO JOIN US, WE NEED A NEW SETTER AS OUR CURRENT SETTER WILL BE GRADUATING THIS YEAR"

"yes, I am a setter. I will join the volleyball team too"

"YOSSHAAAA!! I HAVE A SETTER AS MY NEW FRIEND!!"

Seeing the interactions, y/n couldn't help but smile seeing her cousin bonds with her new friend. "y/n! you will be joining the team as a medical assistant, right?"

"yes Kou, if not, who will control your childish behaviours??"

"Y/NNNN IM NOT CHILDISH. IM OLDER THAN YOU REMEMBER??"

"But your behaviour says otherwise, Bokuto-san". Yes, if you wonder, that remark was made by Akaashi Keiji, people assume that he is just a quiet, introverted, no one would expect him to have a cheeky side to point out to his senpai's childish side like that.

With that, they earned a loud laugh by y/n, "woahhh Akaashi-san, I love this side of you!! You should do it more to shut this owl's loudness". Keiji just nodded, don't know what to say after the compliment, not noticing there's a hint of blush on his cheeks.

"YOU BOTH ARE CRUEL TO GANGING UP ON ME LIKE THAT" Kou pouted. Y/n ignored her cousin, wondering why Keiji didn't responded to her compliment towards him just now.

(The same day, after school)

KEIJI'S POV

"L/n-san, you said that you want to apply for medical assistant of the team, right? Let's go to the gym together" startled by Keiji's first time doing the first move, y/n immediately nod eagerly with a big smile. Keiji still giving her his unemotional face. Y/n just shrug it off, seeing that Keiji is a person who like to keep his emotions to himself.

Reaching the gym, Keiji could see there are some other first years applying to join the club too. Koutaro noticing his cousin and his new friend, excitedly runs toward them and shouted "YOU GUYS MADE IT!!"

"HAHAHA of course we made it Kou, you speak as if we comes out of a survival game that we could possibly die any time" Keiji was stunned by y/n's remark, thought that it was an interesting way of thinking.

"Yo, y/n, how's our little owl doing?" A boy with dirty blonde hair approached them and greeted y/n. They seem to know each other already.

"Hi Konoha-san. I'm fine thank you. ALSO I'M NOT LITTLE, YOU GUYS ARE JUST TOO TALL, MY SIZE IS NORMAL FOR AN ASIAN". With that, they laughed at her.

Y/n does have a great personality, she is so friendly and approachable... it's as if she was made of sun, her warmth really bring joy to others. Keiji feels like he could use her warmth to enjoy a little more of his highschool life. His mouth formed a small smile that no one noticed.

"Woah Bokuto, you bring two new members?" A girl with ponytail asked. "Yeahh this is my cousin, L/n Y/n, she will be applying as medical assistant for the team. And this is her friend, Akashi Keiji, and he is a setter!!" Deciding to ignore how Kou mistakenly pronounced his name, Keiji bows to his seniors together with Y/n.

"Woahhh it's nice to have a new medical assistant to help. You know these boys could get rowdy and it can be really handful managing them. Nice to meet you, Y/n-chan!! My name is Suzumeda Kaori, and this is another manager, Shirofuku Yukie."

"The pleasure is mine, Suzumeda-San, Shirofuku-San"

"Oh, you can just call us Kaori and Yukie, we will also call you by your first name too" Y/N nodded with a big smile. Her smile is really contagious.

Then, a middle aged man enters the gym, which Keiji and Y/n assumed as the coach of the team. They learned that his name is Takeyuki Yamiji. The first day includes all the old and new members introducing themselves and a little training as to see their skills.
