CHAPTER 25: WRITINGS ON THE WALL

How do I live? How do I breathe?

When you're not here, I'm suffocating

As the examination week goes, y/n does give keiji as much space as he want. She never meant to leave him, she just want to give him time to find himself, didn't know that keiji is actually lost by now. She still brings him lunch, she even make extra foods for him. She could see clearly he's not eating much. 

Same as before, she puts a note alongside his lunch. This time, its more to advice notes, such as 'please eat more' 'have enough sleep' 'don't push yourself too much'. She is a little bit irritated when she could see clearly keiji is not taking care of himself properly, however she can't do much about it. He won't answer her questions, again, saying there's nothing for her to worry about. He would give her an assuring smile, which didn't convince her at all.

(Akaashi's residence)

Keiji is still focusing on studying for tomorrow's exams. As usual, he didn't bother to eat the dinner his maid left at his door. This genuinely making rei, the maid  to be concern on his health. Usually, he would eat even just a little, but lately, he doesn't eat at all. The food would be left in front of his door without a trace of him eating it. Hence, here rei is, in keiji's parents office room in their house to have a talk on this matter,

"Akaashi-sama, Keiji-sama didn't eat his food at all" rei tells his parents her concern, maybe they would care enough about their child's health and ask him to take a break. 

"Do you think he tries to show that he is trying to oppose us?" Keiko asks her husband, thinking that her son is starting to do something against both keiko and kazuyo's will. 

Kazuyo averts his focus from his laptop to rei, giving her a stern look, "Just let him be. He is being a spoilt brat for all we know. If he doesn't want to eat, so be it" rei was so shocked to listen to kazuyo's answers, and the way keiko reacts. She didn't expect that they would be this heartless toward their own son. 

"H-hai, akaashi-sama. Sorry to bother you" rei bows. Kazuyo then shoo her away, resuming to his current work.

Tomorrow will be the last day of examination week. It is a hellish week for keiji. He can't wait for it to be over. He think that once this is over, he can be with y/n again. He does follow his parents orders to ignore everyone to focus on his studies. So, since the examination week will be over tomorrow, he doesn't have any reason to study anymore as the school year is ending. He think that everything can be like before again, he can have many dates with y/n, hang out with his friends, just the thought of it bring a genuine smile to his face.

For now, he has to go home right away and start studying for tomorrow's paper. The universe seem to be against him so much, as soon as he reaches the main entrance of the school, rain starts to pour down heavily. He can't believe that he forgot to bring his umbrella. He can't wait for the rain to stop, it would waste his time. 

Then, keiji decides to just walk through the rain, not bothered for being soaked from head to toe.

By the time he gets home, he already felt dizzy. He just changed to a new clothes, didn't bother to take a bath. He skips dinner too for not having any appetites as he could feel his throat is starting to feel sore. 

His body is tired, he could feel that clearly. But, he has no time to take a rest, as tomorrow's subject is actually his weakness, although he would always be on top of his class. He has to get a perfect score. He has to get the first place, to protect the club from being dismissed. He has to prove to his parents that his friends has nothing to do with his studies.
