A/N Hi guys, I know most of you probably gave up on me during the time I was dealing with computer issues, but here I am again! I really hope you enjoy this chapter <3
Also, if you guys haven't heard of Melanie Martinez, you should look her up and listen to some of her songs because she is amazing(and I'm tooootally not obsessed with her). Some of her songs do have a few themes that are not appropriate for children and a few swear words but if you hear that then just skip the song. <3

Nothing. Still nothing. Silence. Sophie forlornly began the same hopeless countdown, hoping for anything. Even a sound. No luck so far.
Her dirty, messed up hair fell wildly over her tired, drooping eyelids and her eyes that once sparkled as golden as a bright star. Her torn clothes barely served their purpose anymore but Sophie was too tired to care. So tired...

Thump.
Sophie jumped. A noise!
Thump.
Footsteps perhaps? She could hear the person stomping on the cold, gravelly ground, almost shaking the hard piece of stone floor Sophie was sitting on. Perhaps that was Sophie's knees shaking in anticipation. Had someone come to save her? To save Keefe?
Thump.
A loud click announced the door had been unlocked and in stepped a dark, weathered boot. A person! Aha!
Thump
As the full form stepped into shape, Sophie realised it was the the now-not-so familiar shadowy figure, cladded in a dark, black cloak.
Thump.
And he was coming towards her.
Thump.
In his hand he carried a doctor's needle, like the ones in horror movies Sophie had accidentally seen glimpses of as a child. Inside the needle she could see a black, slimy, dangerous-looking liquid and his hood was pulled over his face like a ghost. Well, he was a ghost. A ghost of the old Keefe.
Thump.
He bent down beside her tired body, and Sophie ripped the hood off his face. In surprise, Keefe dropped the needle and the vial holding the black liquid smashed, leaving shards of glass and liquid all over the floor. Sophie looked up at his face and gasped in horror.
His cold eyes sliced into hers. She hadn't seen his eyes properly in so long but still she knew they were different. The mischievous glint in his eye had turned hard and cold. Just like his father, she thought before instantly regretting it and looking away. Her heart stopped when he turned to her. His hair, his beautiful hair- it was smoothed back and a deep and ugly scar was etched across his cheek. His hood was pulled back leaving Sophie to stare into the ice blue eyes of someone she once knew. He was her friend. Maybe even more..."What have they done to you?" she cried. Tears were bubbling up in her eyes but she didn't care. She didn't even try to wipe them away. Keefe's face froze- then slowly morphed into a smirk. Not his usual smirk, but a cold and evil smirk.
"Where are you, Keefe?" Sophie asked desperately, searching his eyes for any hint of the boy she knew.
"Gone."
