nara wasn't sure what to do, should she still meet jake?

she shrugged away her thoughts and took a shower.

having finished her shower, nara laid on her bed.
she wanted to finished her reports but she was exhausted, despite having had coffee earlier.

soon enough, her heavy eyelids shut and she fell into slumber.

nara woke up to the sound of her phone ringing.
'heeseung hyung? oh no, it's already 2!" she thought.

"hey, hyung."
"are you okay, nara? I called you a couple of times and you didn't pick up. I'm already outside."
"sorry hyung," nara muttered.
"I'll be out in a moment, give me a few minutes."
"okay."

nara ended the call and got ready.
she combed her dark brown hair and put on her 'work clothes', as she called them.
in reality, though, they were just formal wear.

she grabbed her phone and purse and left her room for the front door.

"hey, hyung."
heeseung smiled at her and ruffled her hair, "hey, nara. did you fall asleep, or did you finish the reports?" he laughed.

nara's eyes widened, "I forgot about the reports, hyung! I'm so so-"
"it's alright, nara," heeseung cut her off, "did you rest well?"
she nodded, "yes, I slept. thanks for asking, hyung."
he smiled at her and opened the car door, "that's good, get in."

she smiled and entered the car as heeseung placed his hand over her head, preventing her from hitting her head against the car's door frame.

the ride was silent, both parties did not speak to each other.

unknown number
hey
can I meet you?
why?
I want to talk to you, about jaeyun.
why do you still care about him?
I already told you he's dangerous.
I'll keep not avoiding him if you don't tell me why I should.
that's your problem then, why should I care?

nara scoffed.
heeseung looked at her, "is something wrong?"
she shook her head, "no," and smiled.
heeseung nodded and returned his focus back to the road.

unknown number
you care enough about me to tell me to stay away from him, yet you don't tell me why.
you're so strange, pjs.
jay.
what?
you can call me jay.
your name is jay?
maybe.
but whatever.
those aren't your initials, but okay, jay.
now, tell me, please?
why should I?
because I asked?
just stay away from him, please nara?
but...
I feel bad if I go back on my word.
I promised to walk with him in the park today.
how can I trust you anyways?
you know the missing girl?
yes, what about her?
he has something to do with it.
don't be fooled by his charms.
he's not what you think he is.
what do you think I think he is?
he's just a playboy who's a model to me.
doesn't seem like it.
what do you mean?
if he's just a playboy to you, cancel on him today.
and perhaps, stop smiling at him so much?
...
I will still go today.
but I told you not to.
you're not someone I trust, jay.
I barely know you.
you're a complete stranger.
for all I know, you could have kidnapped that girl.
you could be a murderer or a serial killer.
lucky for you, I'm not.
how can I trust you?
you knew my name, when we hadn't even met.
did you stalk me?
are you a stalker?
you wish.
I have no reason to stalk you.
our second meeting was a pure coincidence.
and the first?
it wasn't, obviously.
I had to tell you to stay away from him.
but why?
because he's dangerous??
I've literally said that so many times, love.
are you blind? perhaps deaf?
how can I trust you?
I'll kill myself if he isn't dangerous.
what if you're suicidal already.
are you serious right now, kim nara.
perhaps, love.
very funny.
I'm hilarious.
please just, stay away from him alright?
if you care so much about me, why don't you just be at the park while I'm there?
like the stalker you are.
for one, I'm not a stalker.
for two, perhaps.

"we're here."
"okay, hold on," nara said.

jay
I'll talk to you later.
in the meantime, find a reason for me to trust you.
okay.
bye.

nara bit her bottom lip and stepped out of the car.
"is there something bothering you, nara?"
nara shook her head, "nothing at all, mr lee."
"is it the reports? are you still wo-"
"no, I'm alright, thanks for asking, hyung," she mumbled, cutting him off.

she stepped into the office, following behind heeseung, softly.
"hyung?"
"yes?"
"how do you know if you can trust someone?"
heeseung turned around and looked at her, his left eyebrow raised.
"what do you mean?"
"like, how do I know if the person is trustworthy?"
heeseung chuckled, "why? are you going on a blind date?"
nara blushed and shook her head, "no, not at all!"
heeseung snickered, "just, get to know them, I guess. I mean, they could be lying to you about their whole personality but, whatever. don't overthink it."

nara thought for a second, "okay, thanks hyung."
heeseung smiled at her and turned back to his office table, getting ready to work.

after awhile of working, nara yawned and looked at the clock. it was already five in the afternoon.
"it's already five..."
heeseung looked at her, "do you want to go home? you have plans later anyway."
nara shook her head, "it's alright, hyung. he's coming here to pick me up."
heeseung raised his eyebrow, "he?"

nara's face flushed, realising she had exposed the gender of who she was meeting.
"it's a guy? do I know him?"
nara looked away and chuckled softly, "I don't think so. he says he doesn't know you."
"what's his name?"

nara paused for a moment, "sim jaeyun."
heeseung's eyes widened, shocked.
nara was meeting the town's playboy?
"do you know him?" she asked.
heeseung hesitantly shook his head, "no."
nara nodded.
