Annabeth is 17. Annabeth's POV

I am standing outside of my Dad's house in San Francisco. It's been a few months since I was here in person. I IMed him a couple times at camp, but I never had a chance to come back home. The last time I talked to him was right before we set off to Camp Jupiter. It hadn't been much, just a run down of what the plan was. I knock on the door. My dad opens it and his eyes widen.

"Annabeth. You're home?" He says.

"Yup." Is all I can manage to get out. He about squeezes the life out of me with a hug. It's a little overwhelming when you see your family when you've almost died a bunch of times since the last time you saw them. Percy's amazing and all, but he's not my Dad. Percy is my boyfriend, and while he loves me, it's in a different way. Percy can't look at me, and see a little girl that's morphed into whatever broken person I am now. Even though we've fought in the past, he's still my father, and he loves me. He starts asking a bunch of questions.

"Are you all right? Did you find Percy? Is he ok? Are you ok? Are you hurt? Is everyone ok? Did you defeat Gaea?" H asks anxiously. He's nervous. I can tell, because he babbles when he's nervous.

"We found Percy, physically I'm alright, everyone's ok mostly and we did." Answering the questions the best I can without my voice giving anything away.

"Well come in then!"He gestures me into the house, and I walk through the door. No one comes running to great us.

"Bobby and Mathew are at their friends' house and Susan's at a meeting." He explains. "So do you care to explain what happened on the quest?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" I answer the question with a question. I know he can still be somewhat touchy about the details. He looks confused, but nods. So I launch into the story of how we went to Camp Jupiter, found Percy and we reunited (which was... interesting, considering he's only met Percy once) and how Leo blew up New Rome. When we got to the part where Percy and I fell into Tartarus, I take a deep breath.

"Just hear me out on this part, ok?" I say evenly, but I can feel my emotions battling for control.

"Yes." He replies looking scared and confused at the same time. Another deep breath.

"So we were dragged into the pit and they couldn't reach us. I tried to tell Percy to let me go but he wouldn't. He made Nico take the others to the House of Hades. Then Percy let go of the ledge and, well, we fell." He blinks. He knows what I mean. He also knows how bad it is.

"You what?" He says quietly, disbelieving. He looks on the verge of something, but I can't tell what.

"We fell into Tartarus. I'm here nice and alive now though. Don't blame Percy for letting go of the ledge, we were far beyond help." I reply. My Dad just gets up and hugs me tightly.

"I have one question and one question only, for right now. I want you to answer it honestly. Are you ok now?" He ask. I nod, knowing if I try to speak now I'll lose it. I feel a few tears slip out anyways. My Dad sits next to me and lets me lean into him and cry. A few minutes later, the last of my tears are being wiped away by his thumb and he lifts my face to look at me. I see him analyzing the new scar on my cheek from shrapnel of some explosion during the final battle, the cut just above my eyebrow that was created by a poison spitting mutant monster in Tartarus that Will Solace says will take a long time to heal, the mostly healed busted lip, and the claw marks from a hellhound on my neck.

"Then it's mostly ok. Now, how about you tell me the rest of this while we have dinner?" He says finally. "We can have dessert dinner." I give a watery smile. Dessert dinner was something we used to do when I was little, whenever I got an extra extra good grade on something.

"Ok Dad. That sounds great."

Sorry this took so long to write, I've had zero time to write. Also I make things up as I go along. I hope y'all are all well and still feasting on Easter candy.

Peace out
