Chapter 10: Tristan and Piper

Hi so I just put out another story so please go check it out. It's called The Aftershock and I'll probably put out a few more chapters of that. It's a How to Train Your Dragon 2 story.

Piper is 16. Piper's POV

Last week, the Giant War ended. We've had a week for recuperation, but now we get to go tell our family's we're ok. Which is alright for Percy and Annabeth. Their parents know about Olympus and such, but not so great for me. My Dad thinks I'm at another boarding school. How the Hades am I supposed to explain not only what the school is like, but also all the new scars and still healing wounds? I'm waiting at the airport in LA with my hoodie on, even though outside it's like 80 degrees outside, mostly to cover up a cut that a harpy gave me yesterday. It's almost healed but not quite. I then hear someone calling my name.

"Piper!" I hear my Dad. I then see him and rush to greet him.

"Hi Dad!" I say, hugging him. He smiles and looks at me. It's been a few months since I saw him in person.

"I swear you've grown again. Why are you wearing a jacket? It's really hot out!" He says, incredulously. I shrug.

"It was chilly on the plane." I reply. He nods.

"Well you're probably gonna want to take it off when we get to the car." We walk and catch up on life. He asks me about the "school", my friends, Jason and I, that project I told him we were working on (that was our cover name for the Argo II). I ask him about work, movies and such. When we reach out house (actually, mansion), we walk in and I go upstairs to drop my stuff off in my room. I hide my dagger under my pillow and my sword in the dresser.

"PIPER!" I hear from downstairs.

"Yeah?!" I shout back.

"Mail call!" Dad shouts. Mail call? I never have mail, unless it's me getting kicked out from a school. My friends know just to IM me if they really need to reach me. Weird. I come downstairs and my Dad hands me the letter. It's from the Delphi Boarding School. It has three sentences;

Iris Message. Tonight. 9 PM your time.

-Jason, Percy and Annabeth

Ok then. That was interesting.

"Pipes? Who's it from?" My Dad asks.

"Just my friends, checking up on me. Since we aren't allowed cell phones at school." I mentally pat myself on the back.

"Ah. Well, do you wanna do something?" He asks.

"Nah, I think I'll just hang around the house. Nice to be home." Which was true. He smiles.

"Well let me know if there's anything you need Pipes."

"Okay." I reply. I look at the clock. It reads 4:49. Great, five hours to be with Dad while worrying about whatever news my friends have for me.

After dinner, we end up playing Monopoly, a favorite pass time for the quest.

"Aw c'mon. I'm in jail again?" My Dad says. I grin and roll again. I was second to only Annabeth. 

"It seems to be that way." After we finish the game we decide to watch How to Train Your Dragon. It's a kids movie but I still love it. Hiccup's so dorky, and you have to love him. Toothless reminds me of Festus. After the movie I check the clock. 8:30.

"Hey Dad? I'm gonna head to bed now." I say.

"You sure? It's still pretty early." He says with concern.

"I'm just tired from the flight and and the time change. It's almost midnight in New York." He seemed to understand that.

"Ok. Night Pipes." He says and kissed the top of my head.

"Night." And I go to my room and change into my pj's as quickly as possible. It's 8:55. Close enough. I grab a water bottle and a drachma and turn my light on.

"Oh Iris, accept my offering. Show me Jason, Percy and Annabeth." They appeared in the mist. The three of them stand together, in Cabin One. Percy and Annabeth are wrapped in each others arms, while Jason is leaning against the base of the Hippie Zeus statue.

"Hey guys. What's up?" I ask, moderately scared they'll say something along the lines of "The giants are back and we got confirmation that Leo is never coming back".

"It's nothing bad." Annabeth says quickly. I relax immediately, letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"What was with the mysterious letter? Do you know how creepy it was?" I ask, only half kidding. Percy laughs and Annabeth elbows him

"No we just figured that we should tell you that Chiron has an exchange program with Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter." Jason says. "Hazel and Frank already signed up to be ambassadors, and almost half of Camp Jupiter. Camp Half Blood is still recovering so the sign up hasn't begun yet, but there's a lot of enthusiasm."

"Oh my gods really?!" I exclaim. He nods, with a big grin that makes his scar almost disappear. 

"And, Reyna said that as ex praetors, we get extra bonuses, like our own villas." Percy adds. I bite back a laugh.

"And this is such an added bonus why? What are you gonna do Jackson?" I ask teasingly. I make eye contact with Jason.

"Or is it really going to be just you? Maybe we should send Hedge along with you." He says, eyes sparkling with mirth. Percy and Annabeth both turn bright red. I laugh a little too loudly.

"Piper? Are you still awake?" My Dad calls. I swear both in English and Greek.

"Hang on a minute." I tell my friends. I walk out into the hallway.

"I thought you were asleep." My Dad says. 

"One of my friends sent me a funny video." I say, instantly regretting it.

"I thought you couldn't have phones? And aren't the computers regulated?" He inquires. 

"Yeah, but they went into the city to use the library today, and used those computers." I say, with a little charmspeak. Man I hate charmspeaking my Dad, but it's either that or tell him I'm a demigod.

"Ok." He says "Don't stay up too much later." 

"I won't." I say, and I go back to my room.

"That was close. I should probably go." I tell my friends.

"Ok. Call us whenever you can." says Annabeth.

"Have fun being famous. Also Piper?" Percy asks.

"Yes?" I reply. He has a devious grin on his face.

"You're an awful liar."

"Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth says. Percy just grins widder and pecks her on the cheek.

"Bye Pipes. Love you." Jason tells me.

"Love you too." I say and swipe my hand through the mist. Three more days until I'm back to camp, and even if it's not easy, gods dammit, I'm enjoying them.

SO sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Life go in the way. Anyways, comment ideas for Jason, Frank, Hazel and Leo and if you do you get a dedication!
