Riley's POV
I give Damien a little kiss on the lips when he drops me off at my house after our date.
"I'll call you tomorrow." He says.
"Maybe you can come over for supper sometime instead of us going out." I suggest.
"You mean like supper between us?" He questions.
"Well, us and Addison." I reply.
"Oh. We'll see." Is all he says.
"Well, I need to go and see to Addison. So goodnight." I say.
"Yeah." He responds. He gives me kiss and then I finally leave.
Since the lights at my house are off, I figure that James and Addison are at his place.
I knock on his door, but hear James call out from inside the house, telling me the door was open. I step in and make my way to the living room.
"Mommy!" Addison squeals, jumping off the couch and giving me a hug.
"I thought you would have been asleep." I say.
"Sorry about that. She wanted to be awake when you got back." James says.
"Don't sweat it. At least now I don't have to carry her back home." I tell him. He smiles down at Addison.
"Can I get a hug?" He asks her, opening his arms. She giggles and runs into his arms.
"I'll, um, pay you tomorrow if that's alright." I tell him. He shakes his head.
"No, don't worry about it." He said. "Hanging out with this princess was payment enough."
"Come on Addy. Time to get you to bed." I say, motioning her to the door. She gives James one more hug before she joins me walk out.
~~~~~
When Addison and I gets home from shopping the next day, I sit her down to have a talk with her.
"Mommy's 'special' friend is coming over for supper tonight, so you have to be good, okay?" I tell her, referring to Damien. She nods.
"Is it James?" She asks.
"No sweetie, it's the man that was here yesterday that I left with." I reply.
"Can James come too?" She asks sadly.
"Not tonight." I reply.
"Next time?" She asks.
"Maybe." I mumble.
