RACHEL - Gina seemed to be a careful driver, at first glance. She drove exactly the speed limit and didn't cut into the opposite lanes in narrow curves either. I tried to watch her subtly but was quite sure she noticed. A smirk build on her lips. Her very pink lips.

Rachel, get your head out of the gutter. What was wrong with me? I mean...granted, they were very nice and kissable lips...

"Since you want to be there when we analyse the feather, is it okay if we do it after school tomorrow?" Only now did I realize she was talking to me. Oh no....I looked at her confused. What was she talking about?

"The bird feather," she explained. Ah...

"Yes, school is fine. But won't someone complain or find it strange?" Even if a lot of the townsfolk and the school was supernatural, I was quite sure there was no magical science club in the afterhours.

"It wouldn't be our first time. No worries." Gina took a turn left towards the town center. I nodded in agreement. If she said so. After a moment of hesitation I decided to ask for her opinion.

"What do you think happened today?" I asked and watched her profile. She had really long lashes. Dreamy lashes. Earth to Rachel?

She was quiet for a moment.

"Birds and cats are very sensitive towards witch magic. Just as dogs are to werewolves and such. My guess is, someone activated a strong spell and agitated them this way."

"But even if someone bothered them, would they really attack?"

"The question is, did they attack or were they just confused and panicked?" Gina added. "There was a lot of witch power in that glass house of a training location, so maybe they just flocked to us because of that." She shrugged and sighed.

"I guess you are going to have to ask that to the birds," Rory interrupted from behind and I jumped a little, having totally forgotten he was there. A smirk told me he knew what effect he had had on me and was enjoying it. I seriously didn't like this guy.

"We won't get anywhere with our assumptions at this point. We will find out more tomorrow, I hope," Gina ended the conversation. She looked at the sky with a worried expression. "I think it is going to rain soon."

"Seriously?" It had not stopped long ago, how was it already ready for rain again? I watched the grey clouds above us but had to agree with Gina. It was likely going to rain again soon. Gina stopped at a crossing and I saw the school bus go by. That reminded me...

"Can you take me to the bus stop near my house?" Even if just in my head, I had promised the mysterious ghost girl to come back.

Gina send me a questioning look but agreed. One minute later it started raining buckets and it took another ten minutes before we were even coming closer to my house. The rain made driving almost impossible.
