*I want to give a trigger warning for the story (it is already rated "Mature" but just to be sure): There is talk about death by fire, suicide, curse words, sexual harassment, criminal activities, murder. Not all in this chapter but can happen from this chapter forward. I do not condone any of these action nor will I make them romantic. They are not. I like some tension in my story couples but tension does not equal violence or worse. Please continue forward at your own discretion.*
RACHEL - To my surprise, my mother did not hesitate to let me drive with Shay. She informed me that Joel was going to go there with his new friend as well. Once the final bell rang, I made my way to the parking space with Shay.
We continued walking and I was already wondering which car was hers when she suddenly stopped at a white Lamborghini.
"You are kidding, aren't you?" Shiny was an understatement to describe this car. It was beaming, especially parked between the second-hand and half-battered cars of the other students.
"What? You don't like my car?" She seemed genuinely hurt.
"No, no, I like it. It's just a little surprising, that's all." I felt like I was in a teenage movie. Or a Fast and Furious movie. One of the two. We got in and Shay started the motor.
"You have never been on the Northern hill, right?" Shay asked. It took me a moment to remember what she was referring to.
"The Richie Rich part of town? No."
"Yes, that one. Colin's house. Honestly, the Monroes could use their money as toilet paper and would still be called rich. Believe me. You will step into their house and immediately feel poor."
"Awesome," I said with a bitter tone. I had looked forward to this training all day and now I found out I would feel like crap? Not really good for my spirits.
"But don't worry, Elsa is pretty chill about it."
"Elsa?"
"Our teacher, Colin's aunt," Shay explained and took the road back to St. James. A look to my watch told me we still had an hour before training started.
"We going there directly?"
"With a little pit stop, yes."
"Pit stop?" I asked and she send me a quick smirk before returning her attention back to the road.
"We need to get someone first."
The someone turned out to be Danny and Emma. Both didn't have a car and had taken the bus back from school. When we stopped in front of the St. James police station, I was more than confused.
Then Danny walked out of the station with a spring in his step and got into the car, a giant grin covering his face.
"Hey guys."
