Volume 2 - Go back to those old days

The flames from Beacon Tower were bright and made the campus look like the darkest pit of hell. A huge Wyvern that appeared dormant within a mountaintop near Mountain Glenn finally awoke from its deep slumber and was now terrorizing the school grounds. Not only that but it was because of the Wyvern that Grimm kept appearing more and more because it was able to summon them. Team JJAK had been fighting the herds of Grimm in order to protect their school but it was too much. Alice was hurt after a strong battle and her aura had shattered, one more strike and she would be gone. Katy was carrying her since she was the strongest of the three and the closest to Alice but it wasn't an easy task since Katy's aura was at the verge of shattering as well. Jack and James were in charge of keeping the Grimm away from them but Jack's aura was also heavily damaged. The only one who was able to keep on fighting and protect his team was James, and he was willing to protect them no matter what.

"JACK WE NEED TO GO" yelled Katy desperately.

"Sorry... i zoned out a little bit there, we should go somewhere safe without Grimm so we can take care of Alice's wound and we can rest so that our auras are at a better state" ordered Jack.

"I'm staying here" added James.

"You are not, even though you can still fight you need to rest and we are not leaving you alone here so don't even think about it James" Jack said as he grabbed James by his shoulders and looked him in the eye.

James looked away, he wasn't a person who made much eye contact but he had a worried look on his face.

"What if Grimm decide to follow us who will protect us" said James.

"If that happens we'll both protect the group as we make our way through campus" added Jack.

"But Jack your aura isn't at a great state right now" James said.

"I don't give a shit in what state it is, I will fight for my team no matter what" said Jack with a serious tone.

"Typical behavior from our team leader... okay I'm ready to go" said James.

"Good, Katy get ready because we are leaving" said Jack.

"That's the Jack I know, let's go Alice" added Katy.

As they were running to the back of the school where the dorms were located countless of Grimm were following them.

"KATY KEEP RUNNING" yelled Jack.

"James let's do this" added Jack and James nodded.

Jack charged his propulsion on his legs and James surrounded his legs with his vortex to make himself levitate, both of them got their weapons ready and charged into battle. With each step Jack made he released more energy to send himself flying towards a herd of Grimm up ahead. He move his scythe back to get some momentum and just when he was close to the Grimm SLASH, he cut off the head of a Grimm. He continued to kick a Grimm that was behind him and shoot another one in front of him then he propelled himself towards the sky and released his energy again to send himself towards the ground. He started spinning in a cannonball form swinging his scythe around to strike a Beowolf from above. Then behind him an Ursa Major was charging towards him at great speed but just because they were huge Grimm this wasn't stopping Jack from beating the shit out of it.

Jack concentrated the energy on his feet and analyzed his opponent by finding an opening. Jack was sure of it, he closed his eyes and focused then WOSH, he released that energy and sent himself flying towards the Ursa. The Ursa suddenly stood up in order to hit Jack but he swung Myrradix towards the neck of the Grimm and propelled himself upwards with the blade still on the Grimm's neck and with all the energy concentrated on his arms he released it and spun around in place slashing the Ursa's head off. The Ursa's corpse faded away and Jack fell down on his knees, he was tired but he wanted to help James even though he really didn't needed the help. James was being ambushed by a group of Grimm and he created a vortex around himself to make the Grimm levitate and himself as well in the center of the tornado. He pulled back the string of Stryker with a bow on it which was powered by dust that had a fire effect and shot his enemies one by one and killed them on one shot making their bodies engulf in flames. Then he redirected the tornado and made a wind current pushing away a herd of Grimm, he was tired of them.

"James I think that's enough, we should go" Jack ordered.

"Are you okay" asked James.

"Don't worry about me I can at least still walk" added Jack.

"Okay then let's reunite with the girls" said Jack. James nodded and followed his leader.

The team managed to enter a room from the dorms, when Jack and James entered they saw Katy bandaging Alice's waist to make the blood stop running. Katy didn't know much pf medical treatment but she was trying her best to save her friend.

"How is she.." asked Jack.

"She isn't struggling as much as before but it still hurts" said Katy.

"I'm fine... don't worry just let me rest" said Alice with a low tone of voice.

"And that's exactly what you'll do, get some rest and we can continue this battle later" said Katy to Alice.

"I think we all deserve some rest, you too James" added Jack.

"Fine but if something comes for us just know I will protect you... well all of you" James reassured.

"I'm glad you care for us James, really, but promise me you'll at least recharge your aura for a bit" said Jack.

"I will, don't worry" added James.

"Man i wish we could go back to those old days when we would hang out in our dorm and joke around, seems like it's been forever since that last happened" said Jack.

"That would be nice" added Katy.

Suddenly Jack's vision started getting foggy and his head was starting to hurt.

"Guys... suddenly I don't feel so good" said Jack as he fell to the ground unconscious.

"JACK!" yelled both Katy and James.
