Summer With Sirius

That's how a couple of months later, I ended up walking nervously off the Hogwarts Express behind Sirius Black.

"Are you sure your parents are okay with this?" I asked him as we pulled our luggage along.

"Yes! I've told you a hundred times - as long as you keep to the story that's you're my girlfriend and you're a pure blood, which you are anyway - we'll be fine!"

I had stopped listening after 'girlfriend' for some reason, my heart was fluttering lightly in my chest, I sped up and tried to forget about my rapid heart rate.

"You must be Sofia" a tall woman bent down to look at me. I was small, yes, but I felt a little patronised by her bending down to speak to me like I were a small child.

"Yes, that's me" I smiled sweetly at her, combing my waist length brown hair with my fingers.

"Well..." She pulled me forward leaving Sirius, his dad and his little brother to walk in our wake.

"So. I assume you are a pure-blood? I know Sirius strays far from what we expect of him bout I think he knows-"

"Yes I am a pure-blood, my name is Sofia Mandeville".

"From the noble house of Mandeville?!" She shrieked. I nodded slightly, feeling that natural ashamed emotion whenever my family were mentioned.

"But your mother and I are dear friends!" I honestly expected her to start jumping up and down and start clapping. "She must be most welcome of this set up!" She gestured to me and Sirius. I assumed that he had already told her we were 'together'.

We finally reached the point we were allowed to apparate from. Sirius's mum seemed overly-keen to hold my hand and transport us to her absolutely enormous house.

"Come Sofia, I must give you the tour!" I had only just finished calming myself down after feeling like I was going to chuck my lunch up. Sirius was doubled up with silent laughter as I was dragged for a tour that lasted at least an hour through the many bedrooms which were filled with heirlooms or just empty.

"Oh my word!" Mrs. Black shouted again when we arrived in the kitchen where Sirius handed me a glass of water.

"You don't have a bedroom!" She looked in horror at me.

"It's cool, I'll sleep on the sofa" I shrugged it off but this just seemed to upset her even more.

"No. No!" She hurried off, her long robes swishing around her ankles.

Making the most of his mum not holding my hand, Sirius and I played a couple of games of exploding snap to pass the time. We also decided to have a go at wizard chess but as I had never played before, he pulverised me.

Suddenly Mrs. Black hurried back into the room.

"I have made you two a room to share". Slightly alarmed I looked at Sirius who exchanged the look with me.

"Sirius it's the old locket room". He nodded and took my hand, making my heart flutter for some reason again.

We tiptoed up the wooden stairs, I turned to look down a corridor and saw an alien, I screamed.

"What?!" Shouted Sirius.

The 'alien' moved out the shadows and revealed itself to be a house elf.

"Ohmygod" I said I'm one short, shallow breath.

Looking disgusted, Sirius told me "that's Kreacher"

"Hi Kreacher, how are you?" The elf bowed low and started to utter,

"Kreacher likes this young mistress. Why would smart girl date silly boy Kreacher wonders."

"He's not all there" muttered Sirius in my ear.

We followed another flight of stairs me pushed open a door. Two beds filled the room, both with checkered quilts. A full red armchair was found in the corner and it was heavily decorated - like a hotel room. Smiling, I jumped onto the bed near the window and flopped down.

"Apparently mum DOESNT approve of twelve year olds sharing a bed!"

I laughed and started shoving the stuff from from my trunk into one of the closets.

Let's just say, time at Sirius' was interesting! after four weeks of being obsessed over by his mother, I decided enough was enough and wrote to James, asking if he could have me and Sirius for the last two weeks. Within an hour he had responded and we left straight away, me only stopping to say goodbye to Sirius' mum who, although mildly annoying, had been very kind to me and let me stay at hers for a whole month!

When we turned up on James' front door step, he greeted Sirius with a tight hug while I stood awkwardly at the sideline. He grabbed Sirius' arm and dragged him straight up the stairs leaving me still standing casually at the door.

"Hello dear, are you okay?" A kindly faced woman appearance in front of me and looked at me like I was someone selling something.

"Erm. Yeah! My name is Sofia. I think I'm meant to be staying with you..." I trailed off gesturing up the stairs where I could hear James and Sirius clattering away.

"Oh my goodness! I must apologise for James, he is most excited." She smiled fondly and picked up my backpack, leaving me to drag my trunk in.

"Hello! Called a man from the kitchen who looked so like James if was weird. He hurried out and took my trunk from me and they both led me up the staircase to a bright bedroom with a single yellow bed by a desk and window.

"Awh, this is lovely!" I told Mrs. Potter.
"Thank you dear! It's the spare for if my sister comes to stay I'll leave you to this then!"

I hung up a few outfits and decided to do the homework I had been set over the summer and hadn't even looked at.

By the time Mrs. Potter called me for dinner, I had written three essays and only had a nasty defence against the dark arts essay about werwolves.

I trekked down the stairs and slid onto one of five barstools. Mrs. Potter served a plate of chicken and salad which I ate hungrily while James and Sirius muttered together. James' mum was busy in the kitchen and she noticed my absence of speech.

"James. You do know you have more than one guest!" He looked up and gasped.

"Oh. I didn't even realise you were here Sofia..."

"Classic boy" I said shaking my head a grinning. He looked a bit sheepish while Sirius just laughed.

Hope you liked this one. I'm sorry it's a bit rubbish, it's just filling the gap between first and second year 😄
