The beautiful streak of morning sunlight fell across my crisp white covers. I opened my eyes slowly and saw the empty hospital wing around me. Suddenly, all my memories from the previous evening flooded back into my mind and I cringed, remembering the dramatic fall down the stairs.

Despite this, I was no longer covered in blood, my hair was clean and laid neatly across the pillow. Not only this, my ribs didn't hurt as much any more and my legs were in normal shape and with the ability to move them.

Smiling, I took the glass of water from my bed stand. I hoped someone would come and get me soon, I really didn't want to miss the first day of classes.

Madam Pomfrey walked in about five minutes later and gave me another potion. While I drank it, she checked my legs which were fine and my ribs, which she put a clean bandage on to support it, just to be safe as it was almost healed.

Just as I was slipping my robes over my head behind a screen, I heard Sirius' voice.

"Is Sofia here?"

"I'm here..." My voice was muffled as I struggled to get my robes over my thick bandage "done! You ready to go?" I asked him, skipping out from around the screen.

"Yep, you've certainly perked up a bit" he chuckled a little as he said it.

He offered his arm jokingly to me and I bowed before taking it and then walking out of the hospital wing with my friend. We headed towards the Great Hall together, both hungry for breakfast.

"Been in the hospital already Mandeville?"

Grimacing I turned around to face the horrible drawling voice that was taunting me.

"Yes, Malfoy I have, got a problem with that?"

"Well, it just seems your reputation as an...idiot is already making its appearance and we haven't been back - twelve hours."

"That's cute Malfoy. Now piss off" I pushed past him, bringing Sirius with me.

I could feel his angry stare on the back of my head but I just kept walking until we reached the Grand Hall.

I looked up at the enchanted ceiling and saw the grey clouds, stormy and dark. There was rain pouring down from the enchanted ceiling and vanishing a couple of feet from the students heads.

As I sat down at the bench, a sopping wet owl collapsed in front of me, blasting cereal across the table.

"Mystic!" The owl stood up and hooted before sticking her leg out and encouraging my attention to it.

I took the sodden envelope from her leg and slit it open. The parchment was damp and a little smudged but I was able to make out the writing on the thick, expensive paper.

Dearest Sofia,

It was such a pleasure having you to stay this summer, I do hope you enjoyed your time with us. It came to my attention that you left a note book here - it seems it is a diary of sorts. I assume you would like this returned to you so I am sending it to Hogwarts with my owl; he is a handsome tawny, please look out for him.

Please say hello to Sirius for me; I am impressed in his choice of girl - he seems to be reconsidering his 'anti-pureblood beliefs'. I am now extremely proud of him. Congratulations both of you, have a fantastic year: I hope you would come and stay with us this upcoming summer.

Yours
Mrs. Black.

"Oh my goodness!" I laughed. Showing Sirius the letter. He also laughed, the formality and admiration written was very touching but came across very funny. Before long, out whole group had read the letter and we're all laughing loudly.
