(Dragon Wars) Lost Hope

Chapter 8: It's Been Hard

I was in my father's cave, and I felt like I could not help but to have a guilty look on my face, all at the exact same time as well, which I knew that my father was good at reading the emotions of other dragons, so that only seemed to make things even worse for me, all at the exact same time as well, as I felt like things were all going bad for me right now. I also felt like I was being a bad dragon, as I was thinking for my self getting in trouble, rather than the fact that I had lost my best friend, all at the exact same time too, none the less.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then all of the sudden shook my head, all at once, as I just stared down at the ground for quite a bit of some time, as well, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should even say to my father, all at the exact same time too, as I felt like no matter what, I was going to be getting in a lot of trouble, all at the exact same time as well, as I blinked my eyes a few times, as I just stared at the stone that was below me.
It felt awfully cold right now, as I suppose that it was in fact the middle of the night after all, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of those thoughts too, as I then all of the sudden began to start to hear the voice of my father, as he then all of the sudden decided to finally speak to me, all at the exact same time as well.
I lifted my head up, though I did in fact once again have quite a bit of a guilty look on my face of course, due to the fact that I felt like he had been waiting for me to speak up to him, and explain as to just why it was that I had come back so early in the very first place any ways. Now that I had not have how ever, it was clear that he realized that he was going to have to be the one that needed to start up the conversation none the less.
It was not really a conversation that I even wanted to have, if I was in fact going to be for real with my self, all at the exact same time too, as I just looked at my father right in to his eyes, as I saw him roll his eyes a bit, as he then did in fact, shortly after all of that, begin to start to go on ahead and nod to me, to let me know that this was in fact quite a bit serious, and that he was about to speak to me.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I should even do back to him, if I was going to be for real with my self, but in the end how ever, I did in fact go on ahead and start to nod back to my father, to let him know that I was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, or rather, what it was that he even had to ask me, all at the exact same time as well, never the less.
Once it was that my father had in fact seen me do as such a thing like that, he did in fact go on ahead and begin to start to speak to me once again, as I then did in fact just as I had pretty much promised him, did in fact go on ahead and begin to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
"Something happened... Didn't it... I told you son... I warned you about those humans... It's probably some thing best not to be messed around with in the future..." He said to me, as I saw that he was looking at me right in to my eyes once again, to make sure that I had in fact heard as to just what it was that he had even said to me, all at the exact same time as well, once again, though I stared at him with a bit of a blank look on my face, as if I had not.
I could tell that it got my father quite a bit frustrated with me, all at the exact same time as well, as I now all of the sudden did in fact begin to start to see that he had his eyes squinted at me, all at the exact same time too, as it was clear to me that he was not all too happy with just what it was that I was even doing right at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, once again.
I really did not care, as I had my mind, and my focus on some thing completely different than my father, all at the exact same time as well, though it had in fact been some thing that my father had said to me that had kind of let off the spark that had got my mind on to those facts in the very first place any ways, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden breathed in quite a bit to my self, as it all seemed to come back to me, all at once.
That was of course, the fact as to just what it was that had even happened that night in that cave, all at the exact same time as well, as I felt like I could not help but to feel like a lot of it had been my fault, as I knew that I should have stopped him long before, before it was that he had even started, as I knew that my friend always liked to challenge people, but it was clear that he had challenged the wrong person this time, as it might very well have led to the death of him.
I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I was even thinking right at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, if I was going to be for real with my self, as it felt like I was almost thinking like I still had some sort of hope that he was alive in that cave some where, when I knew damn well that was not the case what so ever, as I knew that if the collapse had not killed him, than he would starve to death, or die from dehydration, which ever one it was that would kill him first.
I dipped my head a bit low to the ground once again, as I still felt quite a bit bad about it, now that I was in fact looking back on it once again, as I wished that I had done some thing in that moment, but I had been just stuck for some odd reason or another, which was a bit of a rare thing for me to do, as I usually always was fast to respond to stuff such as that, all at the exact same time as well.
By the time it had been that I had tried to do some thing to stop my friend, it was clear that it had been too late for him, and now, I was beginning to start to think on all of the trouble that we were about to be getting in to, all at the exact same time too, as it was now all of the sudden beginning to start to make sense to me, all at the exact same time too, as to just why it was that Aitoka had been so upset in the very first place any ways.
She knew that we all were going to get in to a lot of trouble, and it might even mean that we would not be able to hang out with each other ever again, which I felt like Sola would be fine with, all at the exact same time as well, as I almost seemed to hint a bit of jealousy that Sola had for that black dragon, all at the exact same time as well, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
I would think it would be jealousy that Sola would have for her brother, as of course he got to live with their own mother, but that did not seem to be the case what so ever when they were around each other. It always seemed like Sola and Aitoka could not get along what so ever, as I felt like that was more the fault of Sola, rather than it be the fault of Aitoka, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that it was Sola that was always the one that seemed to cause most of the drama between our group of friends, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
I did my best to try to calm my self down, all at once, as I felt quite a bit guilty as to the fact that I had taken the side of Sola now, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, as I blinked my eyes a few times, and I got my mind and my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at once, as I then all of the sudden looked back up to my father, once again, as I saw that just like he had been doing before now, he did in fact have his eyes squinted at me, all at the exact same time too.
It did in fact make me feel quite a bit uncomfortable, all at the exact same time as well, as I began to start to move around quite a bit, all at once, as I did my best to try to calm my self down, as I just stared at my father right in to his eyes for a little bit longer, as I did my best to make sure that the fact that he had his eyes squinted at me did not bother me what so ever, all at the exact same time as well, as I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time too, never the less.
I breathed in a bit softly to my self this time, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden then did in fact begin to start to get my mind and my focus on the thoughts that had to do with the fact that I knew that I for sure could not lie to my father, and as much as I was sitting here not speaking to him what so ever, I knew that it would make things even worse for me, all at the exact same time as well.
I knew that I had learned long ago that lying to my father was a bad idea, as I knew that the truth always came out in the end, all at the exact same time as well, none the less, as I breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self, all at once, as I knew that if I did as well, odds were that he would find out at the upcoming gathering, all at the exact same time as well, as to just what it was that had in fact happened on that small little journey that I had gone on with my friends, all at the exact same time as well.
I got my mind, and I got my focus off of all of those thoughts once again, as I just kept on going with what it was that I had been doing before now, which was of course the fact that I knew that I now had to speak to my father, and I knew that I did in fact have to tell him the truth, all at the exact same time as well, as to just what it was that had in fact happened in that cave the other night, and I had to tell him the truth about what it was that had happened to my best friend, who I knew was also the deputy of the black dragon tribes, all at the exact same time as well.
I breathed in another bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once, as I did my best to try to calm my self down once again, as I then all of the sudden did in fact nod back to my father not all too much longer after all was in fact said and done, all at the exact same time as well, as I then let him know that I was in fact finally ready to go on ahead and begin to start to speak back to him, all at once, as my father did in fact go on ahead and nod back to me, all at the exact same time as well, to let me know that he was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that I even had to say to him in the very first place any ways, none the less.
I let out a bit of a soft sigh of relief to my self, all at once, though I felt like I should not be doing as such a thing sorry soon, as I still was not all too sure as to just what it was that his reaction was going to be, as to just what it was that I was in fact about to go on ahead and start to say to him, all at the exact same time as well. I gulped a bit of some spit down my throat, all at once, as I then did in fact stare at my father right in to his eyes.
Shortly after I did as such a thing like that, I then did in fact begin to go on ahead and start to speak to him, especially since now that it was that I did in fact know that he was in fact listening as to just what it was that I even had to say to him, all at the exact same time as well, never the less.
"Plyma... I'm sorry dad... You were right, it was a bad idea... There was some sort of magical human that was in that cave... Plyma challenged him, and I tried to stop him... But the human threw us all backwards, and the cave then collapsed..." I said to my father, as I was panicking, as I knew that I was having a fully of thoughts that were in fact going through my mind, all at the exact same time as well, after just what it was that I had even said to him, all at the exact same time too.
My father did not seem to quite under stand as just what it was that I was even getting at in the very first place any ways, none the less, as he then all of the sudden tilted his head at me. I felt like I had made it fairly obvious as just what it was that I had said to him, but then again, I also knew that I had kind of said it like I was in a rush to admit to the fact as to just what it was that I had even let happen none the less, once again.
I did my best to try to calm my self down, as I was sure that he was in fact quite a bit confused as to just what it was that I had even said to him none the less, as I knew that I just needed to take my time, and I needed to relax my self, as tired as I might be, and as much as I felt like I wanted to go to sleep right at this very moment in time as well, I did not do as such a thing what so ever, as I felt like I had a lot of adrenaline pumping through me right now, all at the exact same time too.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then all of the sudden just shook my head a bit to my self, once again, as I did my best to try to calm my self down, such as I had in fact managed to do before now, all at the exact same time as well, though it was quite a bit hard for me to do as such a thing, all at the exact same time too, especially since I knew that my friend was more than likely dead in side of that cave right now, as I was sure that he would soon me a rotten corpse.
Once it was that the insects and the animals were done with him, none the less, he would soon be a skeleton of what he used to be, all at the exact same time as well, though I knew that it would not matter all too much what so ever of course, due to the fact that I knew that he was more than likely never going to be found in that cave at all, all at the exact same time too, as I then just shook my head, and I got my mind, and my focus off of all of those thoughts once again.
I breathed in a bit heavily to my self once again, as I did my best to try to calm my self down once again, though it was quite a bit hard, now that I saw that just as it had been just a few moments before now, I now all of the sudden saw that my father was once again squinting his eyes at me, just as he had been doing long before now, as if he did not believe what it was that I had even said.
I was quite a bit lost as to just how it was that he would not believe as to just what it was that I had even said to him in the very first place any ways, but I quickly got my mind and my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden got my mind and my focus on the thoughts that had to do with the fact that I knew that my father was now all of the sudden nodding to me, all at once, to let me know that he was in fact about to go on ahead and begin to start to speak to me, once again.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that I was even thinking my self right now, if I was not going to lie to my self either, but in the end, I did in fact nod back to my father, to let him know that I was in fact paying my full attention as to just what it was that he was even about to go on ahead and begin to start to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
My father did not seem to be thinking all too much about all of that what so ever, as it seemed like his mind was in a bit of a different place right at this very moment in time as well, as he then all of the sudden did it in fact begin to start to go on ahead and begin to speak up to me, not all too long after all of that was all said and done, as I did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
"Hold on... Slow the story down a bit... Your saying that there was a mage in that cave with you? And he attacked Plyma? Is Plyma... Dare I say? Dead, or at least missing?" He said to me, as he had nearly gotten the entire story right, all at the exact same time as well, except for the part where it was that he had asked if the human had attacked Plyma, all at the exact same time as well, as it had been Plyma that had attacked him, as it seemed like the human was only defending him self from the attack that Plyma had in fact put on him, all at the exact same time as well, none the less. Either way, he had got the story right for the most part, and I felt like it was no big deal for me to just go with the fact that the human had attacked Plyma, as it did in fact make sense, as I was sure that they too knew that Purple dragons were the strongest breed of dragons, all at the exact same time as well. I breathed in a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once, as in the end, I did in fact nod back to my father, to let him know that he was in fact correct with the assumption that he had just come to, all at the exact same time as well. I saw that my father had quite a bit of a look of surprise on his face, all at the exact same time as well, as I got my mind off of all of the other thoughts that I had been thinking on once again, as I then all of the sudden began to start to hear my father speak up, just as he had been doing not all too much longer before now, as I did in fact begin to continue to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, once again, never the less. "So... There is going to be a lot of stuff going on at this next gathering... As far as you told me, it seems like there is nothing that could be done... But a lot of drama is about to happen, and potentially a fight because of this... I need you to be ready for this..."
I looked at my father right in to his eyes, as I was quite a bit surprised by just what it was that he had even said to me, all at the exact same time as well, not with the fact that he had told me that there was going to be a fight, as I had already assumed that was going to be the case at this point, all at the exact same time as well. I was more just surprised by the fact that it seemed like he was not upset at me at all, and he did not blame me at all for just what it was that had happened.
Though, I was sure that he had in fact known Plyma quite a bit well, all at the exact same time as well, as I was sure that he knew that I had not been the one that had started the fight, all at the exact same time as well, as that was not in my nature to do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time as well, mean while, it seemed to be the exact same thing that some thing that Plyma would do, as he had in fact done that, none the less.
I breathed in quite a bit to my self, all at once, as I did my best to try to calm my self down, all at once, as I did my best to try to relax my breathing, none the less, as I then all of the sudden blinked my eyes a few times over towards my father, as I was not all too sure as to just what else it was that I really should even be doing right now any ways, as I felt like there really was not all too much that it was that I should even say back to him, all at the exact same time too.
That was just about the entire story, unless he wanted me to tell him about us running from the rock fall that had happened in the cave, or he wanted me to tell him about the fact that me and the other 2 of my friends had been flying none stop for a very long time, to get back to our tribes, never the less, as I was sure he probably knew that was the case, based off of the exhausted look that I had not just on my face, but on my entire body, all at the exact same time as well.
I did my best to try to calm my self down, as I looked over at my father, as it seemed like he was a little bit too busy with the fact that he seemed to just be relaying every thing that I had said to him in the very first place any ways, in to his head, as it did in fact always seem to surprise me, all at the exact same time too, as to just how smart of a dragon that my father even was, all at the exact same time as well, never the less.
I got my mind, and I got my focus off of the rest of those other thoughts, all at the exact same time too, as I then just began to start to breath in a bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I then nodded to my father, and let out a bit of a heavy cough to him, all at the exact same time as well, to make sure that I was in fact able to get his attention on to me, all at the exact same time as well, as he seemed to be way too lost in his head right at this very moment in time as well, once again.
I blinked my eyes a few times once again, as I then all of the sudden, in just a flash, and in just a few moments, saw that my father did in fact have his head, and he had his eyes back on to me, all at the exact same time as well, as it was clear that he had in fact noticed that I was in fact trying to get his attention on to me, all at the exact same time as well, once again.
I just seemed to stare at him for just a little bit longer, as I then all of the sudden did in fact nod to my father, all at the exact same time as well, to let him know that I was in fact about to go on ahead and begin to start to speak to him, all at the exact same time as well, as he then did in fact nod back to me, thankfully enough for me, all at the exact same time too, to let me know that he was in fact paying his full attention on to me, and on to just what it was that I even had to say to him, all at the exact same time as well.
I let out a bit of a soft sigh of relief to my self, all at once, as I did my best to try to calm my self down, all at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden did in fact go on ahead and begin to start to speak to him, all at once, now that it was that I did in fact now know that he was in fact listening as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
"Well... Thank you for not getting too angry with me father... I couldn't have done anything to stop Plyma..." I said to him, as I just stared at him, and I began to wobble around a little bit uncomfortably, all at the exact same time too, due to the fact that I knew that I was in fact very tired right now, as it felt like the original rush of adrenaline that I had long before now, as now all of the sudden beginning to wear off, now that I knew that my father was not angry at me at all.
I stared at him for just a few moments in time, as I felt like I almost wanted to pass out right here, even though I knew that I could not of course, due to the fact that I knew that this was in fact the cave of the leader, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that I was usually the only one that was allowed in this cave in the very first place any ways, due to the fact that I was the deputy of the tribe, unless there was some dragon that really had an emergency that they had to tell my father, never the less.
I blinked my eyes a few times, all at once, as I got my mind and my focus off of all of those thoughts once again, as I just simply knew that I could not fall asleep in here, as that for sure would not be allowed what so ever, as much as it was that I wanted to fall asleep right now, I knew that I had to go back over to the cave where it was that my mother was even at, all at the exact same time as well, as I hoped that it would be sooner than later that I would in fact be able to head off in that direction, none the less.
I just seemed to stare down at the ground for quite a bit of some time, as I saw that it seemed like, from the corner of my eyes, that my father had got back on to the fact as just what it was that he had been doing before hand, all at the exact same time too, which was of course the fact that I knew that he was thinking to him self once again, as I let out a bit of a heavy sigh to my self, as I was way too tired for all of this right now, none the less.
As soon as it was that I had in fact let out the heavy sigh, it seemed like it had in fact drawn the attention of my father over to me, all at the exact same time as well, as it seemed like, he had in fact began to start to realize as to just how tired it was that I even was right at this very moment in time as well, as I then all of the sudden saw him blink his eyes a few times over towards me, too.
He seemed to stare at me for quite a bit of some time, as shortly after all of that, as it then all of the sudden seemed to hit him, as to just what it was that was even going on right at this very moment in time any ways, he then all of the sudden began to start to nod to me, all at the exact same time as well, to let me know, that thankfully enough, he was in fact about to finally go on ahead and speak to me.
I let out a bit of a soft sigh of relief to my self this time, as I was glad that he was in fact about to speak to me now, as I then all of the sudden did in fact go on ahead and nod back to him, all at the exact same time too, to let him know that I was in fact paying attention as to just what it was that he even had to say to me, all at the exact same time as well, at that.
As he did in fact see me go on ahead and begin to do as such a thing like that, he then did in fact go on ahead and finally begin to start to speak to me, all at the exact same time as well, as I then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to me in the very first place any ways, once again.
"I'm sorry son... We will talk about this soon... You can go ahead and get some rest... I can tell it's been hard..."
