CHP 3. PLANETS AND STARS

♡︎❥" FROM PLUTO AND BACK... "

After a very long time of chatting to possible patrons, Viktor had a glimmer of light that he can sneak off. Opening the door to the balcony he calls out for Y/N. "Y/N?", she turns to look at him, her frown turning into a smile as soon as she sees him. "What's up?".

Viktor fiddles with his cane as he looks down. "I have something I... wanna show you", Y/N turns her head as she looks at him with a smug smile, "oh~?", Viktor's face went red as he hears that teasing tone to her voice. "Not... not like that".

"Then what?".

"Do you... want to see the stars up close?", Y/N thinks about it for a moment but smiles and nods, grabbing Viktor's hand gently and letting him lead the way to wherever this place might be.

But anywhere Viktor will be could be considered heaven in someone's eyes.

...

There they sat, on cushions as they laugh and chat about the stars. Even though Viktor was more into technological science, he also loved space and everything about it. But the thing he loved most was sitting down and talking to Y/N about the geekiest things, showing her inventions of his and things he's been working on with Heimerdinger. His eyes could practically become stars if they so wanted to. They shone brightly while he talks.

But the thing is, not only can he talk about science as a whole for hours on end. He could talk about Y/N maybe even more than that. He never loved being in someone's company as much as he loved hers. He loved the way she nods in agreement with what he said, he loves the way she asks questions about his latest inventions or even just the new ideas he has come up with. It's selfish, but he loves the way she's interested in him and only him.

At least he thinks she is...

Y/N was sitting comfortably with a slight slouch to her back, her head on Viktor's shoulder as Viktor adjusted the telescope, ever since they were small, that has always been normal. Y/N lays her head on his shoulder every chance she could get, whether no one was around or people were around (which makes Viktor nervous), it calms her down whenever she does so. The telescope was big, the kind that would stay in place if it didn't have wheels on the bottom of it. He hasn't been up to this part of the building in so long. It was a really good place to escape reality.

With the roof being glass, the planets and mini stars they would hang up and the number of cushions and blankets up there. Books scattered the ground as Y/N went to pick one of them up.

"Aha! I got it!", Viktor announces, Y/N looks over at him with a small smile on her face. "With just a few more adjustments, I think you'll be able to see the planets from here", Y/N stared at him. Jeez, he was so pretty... she tucked a few brown hairs away from his face as she looks away. "This should be where we hang out, it's really pretty and calming, don't you think?", Y/N says as Viktor hums in agreement.

"Here, look at this", he shows his telescope to her, giving her a soft and kind smile. She fell for him, almost instantly as she struggles to keep eye contact. Nodding, she grabs the telescope and peers inside. "Do you see it? The planets?", his voice seemed so close to her ear as she feels her face get red. "Yea, it's beautiful...",

"Like you".

Y/N wanted to cover her face in embarrassment but she wasn't able to. Viktor laughs at the sight of Y/N's face turning red. "Hm, you're very cute, Y/N", Y/N rolls her eyes as she gets defensive. "A-Anyways, the stars are pretty". She says, trying to cover her face with her hands as she looks away from him.

"Hm? Did you not see the planets?", Viktor asks as Y/N shook her head. He sighs and puts up a finger as he grabs the telescope back and peers inside. "Eh? How did you not see these planets over here?". He grabs Y/N's hand and shows her. By practically shoving her on his lap and letting her look through the telescope.

"I see one... it's so far away though", Viktor thinks a little bit. And then he realises which Y/N was talking about, "is it small?", Y/N hums, "that's Pluto, it used to be in our solar system but he was too small to be able to be kept in our orbit, so it kept straying farther and farther away from the sun.

Y/N hums more, leaning onto Viktor's chest. "Don't you think that's kind of like us?", She listens to his heartbeat quicken, she feels his breath become more rapid and fast. "I um... what do you mean..?", Y/N chuckles. "We are outsiders, people from the undercity, ever since we even came here to Piltover, we were treated differently. Even if we have finally been accepted and welcomed we still feel like we are being pulled away from everyone else because of our habits and 'odd' ways to do things, but we are still human, like Pluto - although, it might not even be considered a planet anymore, I still see it as one~!", she chuckles as she snuggles closer to Viktor, nuzzling her face into his chest.

"...From Pluto and back...", Viktor mumbles as his grip tightens around Y/N who looked up at him, confused. "What?", "I... eh, you know what? It's not important, come on, let's get back to Jayce before he loses it down there alone", Y/N chuckles and nods. Helping Viktor up she tells Viktor to go ahead of her, as she was gonna clean everything back up.

Y/N stares at the door which closes behind Viktor. She rushes back to the telescope and peers inside again, seeing all the different planets and stars mingling with each other, practically hand in hand out in the pitch-black universe they called space. Well there sure as hell was a lot of space. Space to just... think, Y/N would always freak out at the thought of floating in space, alone, she hated the thought of it, but then again she didn't mind. It could be so peaceful. Being alone with your thoughts can be a fifty-fifty chance of being good.

Her eyes lock onto Pluto. Her eyes soften, she starts to tear up as she tries to wipe away the tears with her pointer finger. But the tears kept coming as she inhales a shaky breath.

"I love you more... from Pluto and back, Viktor, but I just... can't love you".

COMMENTS: I'm sorry this one was kind of shit 😭😭 I wanted to show the relationship these two had with each other, where in this book, Jayce and Viktor have a more brother-colleague relationship where Viktor is more serious about his work to the point he would choose it over Jayce but he doesn't mind opening up to Jayce if he wanted to. (I see you all Jayktor or Vikayce shippers 😭😭🤚 honestly can't blame you, they are really cute just don't flame Mel she's actually so pretty) but in this book, Y/N and Viktor have known each other for practically their whole lives. So Viktor wouldn't hesitate on choosing them over his work. This chapter is just showing how comfortable they are with each other.

Totally not in love with each other, nope just childhood best friends, mhm.
