Bruce gave me the shot and then excused himself to go to the lab and Tony stayed with me and watched a movie while we waited for me to fall asleep. “Tony I want a pet.” I said drowsily after a while.
“You have a whole aquarium full of creatures and where did that even come from?”
“I want a cool pet though, not like a dog or anything.”
“What the hell?”
“I can’t cuddle a fish.”
“What the hell is Bruce for?” Tony almost yelled.
“Get me a pet.”
“No.”
“Get me a pet.”
“No”
“Get me a pet or I’ll cry.”
“Seriously?”
“Yea, get me a cool pet.”
“I’m not having some animal shit on my hand- woven Egyptian carpets, it isn’t happening.”
“But Tony!”
“No.”
“Okay.” I whined and let my eyelids drop.
