Before we start, I wanted to give inspiration credits to @Adoriingly. We were talking a bit about problems in the community and that was brought up. If you guys are looking for a new Genshin book to read, check hers out!

Sexualization of women in video games has always been a controversial topic. Genshin obviously has it. Women showing skin doesn't bother me because there are women irl who likes to be sexy/to show skin and that's awesome! I also hope for more female characters who are more modest (like Ayaka) in the future. I love both more skin showing and also barely any skin showing characters. My problem with it is the way people perceive them.

If the character doesn't have a lot of skin showing, large breasts, thick thighs, and a big butt, then she's seen as "not a woman" or "not hot enough". Just because female characters in Genshin aren't meeting these criteria, they get a ton of backlash. A covered up, small chested, small thighs, and a small butt woman is still a woman. Cool if someone doesn't find her attractive, they should just move on to a different post of someone they DO like.

Ayaka is a perfect example. She's much more covered up and modestly dressed than other female characters like Eula and Lisa. There was this image that someone posted with text that said: "Hot Blue Haired Cryo Genshin Women". The image included all the Cryo female characters with blue hair or some type of blue hair. The poster was basically showing support for all of them and even captioned: "I love all of the girls. They're absolute queens".

Umm there's someone here who doesn't deserve to make it to the list no offense *looking at Ayaka*

Everybody has their own way of deciding whether or not to like a character, but I don't respect people who hate a character only because that character is "ugly" or "doesn't have enough boobies" or whatever (basically just basing off of a character's attractiveness). I'm not talking about pulling for a character btw. Obviously the design of the character is a factor someone might want to think about when they're going to waste their primogems.

Moving on, there's also a problem with the other side (the side that doesn't like the sexualization of Genshin female characters). A lot of them demand MiHoYo to cover up the females who have a lot of skin showing. You can't just do that lmao. It's a problem in itself if you look at a character and just see their sexiness without looking into other things like personality traits.

I get why they're so angry and upset. It's a fact a lot of women irl are victims (not saying men don't experience this because they obviously do....) and a big part of that is because of the way media portrays women as being sexy, vulnerable, and submissive. But instead of demanding for the skin cover up of already existing characters, they should ask for more covered up female characters.

The sexualization towards these characters is inevitable unfortunately but if there were more modest characters added, that'll give a balance. I just spend my energy with other people who don't degrade women based on their looks though.

I also want to talk about the way people perceive the male characters too. I have already seen plenty of comments that make fun of them like their dick sizes or ugliness. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion. But there's a time and place for it. In a post that's supposed to be positive and for people who love that character, negative and hateful comments aren't needed and is just spreading unnecessary hate.

Also, there's more respectful ways of phrasing things.... which is something a lot of people clearly don't know how to do because for some reason, being mean and edgy is cute nowadays.

I mean no offense to anybody who likes the other guys but you have poor taste imo.... btw it's fine for us to sexualize men and judge them on their appearance because guys do that to the girl characters too and anyways we go through more problems than guys do so 🤷‍♀️ all guys gotta worry about is their small dick

I just love how that first comment basically said that people shouldn't like Childe because of his small dick.... when many people like him for his personality or his story or whatever else the reason may be that isn't sexual lmao.

And then on a post that's giving love and support for Itto, I see several comments giving him hate (once again.... these comments are so unnecessary when you can just move on to something else instead of being negative for no reason at all. People just want to get attention that much I guess lmao).

Someone finding a character unattractive is okay BUT to insult is a different story. You can find someone unattractive without insulting them or insulting those who do find that character attractive.

Who's your favorite female Genshin character(s) and male Genshin character(s)? Xiangling and Jean and then Kaeya and Albedo for me.
