poor barabara she doesn't deserve to get hit on by a creep

So a big misunderstanding that some Genshin players believe is Albert's relationship with Barbara to be sexual. For some reason people think he's pedophilic just because of how much he likes Barbara and is a fan of her.

Just a bit of info if you don't know who he is - Albert is the leader of the Barbara fan club. He's basically just a guy who's a huge, obsessive fan of Barbara - so much so that he even goes as far as to stalk her. I think he's usually seen near the cathedral?

So yeah he's creepy and a stalker lmao but pedophilic? No. Just like with the word racism, people should learn what the word "pedophile" actually means before spewing some BS and saying false things.

The moment where he complimented Barbara (called her cute and pure) made people freak out because it isn't right for a grown man to sexually compliment a minor.

The fact that some of you guys don't care about a literal pedophile is gross and shows your bad character

I feel bad for some of y'all supporting a game with Albert who's confirmed to be a pedophile and groomer

Assuming someone is a bad person just because they like him or don't care much about what he's doing is a bit of a stretch. It's crazy but - you can like something in fiction without liking it in real life.

I'm not sure where the sexual part comes with calling someone "cute" and "pure", but this situation reminds me of the one post where this adult man shared how he felt so embarrassed and awful.

Basically he was out grocery shopping and a little girl called him handsome. He smiled and crouched down and said she didn't look bad herself. The mom got angry, pulled her daughter away, and yelled at him to get away and called him "disgusting". That caused a scene and some people looked over to see what was going on.

Her motherly instincts kicked in obviously and she has every right to be cautious. I can also see why his reply to the little girl could be seen as creepy or wrong, but I also see that he didn't have bad intentions.

But other similar stories that other men shared was unfortunate. One guy talked about how he was at a park with his little sister and a little girl (who was with her mom and dad) ran up to him, waved at him, and said "you look good! I like your face and hair!"

The guy laughed and thanked her and also complimented her back, saying she looks cute and he loves her pink dress and hairbows. This made the parents angry and they shouted at him, said he's a predator, and told him to get the hell away from the park. They ended up calling the police on him and the guy had to try to explain himself that he isn't a predator at all.

Luckily the little girl was able to understand a bit and she told the police she was okay and that the guy was nice to her. The guy had to even show proof that the little girl holding onto his hand is his little sister. Had to get his parents over with the birth certificates and everything.

Once again, the caution that people feel is 100% valid esp since there are a lot of nasty people out there, but I think it can also be damaging for the accused man in other situations too.

Also a bit off topic but I remembered this Twt post about this girl making fun of cultures that lets girls sleep (non-sexual way) with men in the family.

Every culture is different and that's okay. I'm guessing most Westerners have never done that, but it's normal in a lot of Asian families esp when you're all close and comfortable with each other. When I was really young, I used to sleep with my dad and mom often. I don't anymore but sometimes I will come over for vacation at my one family's apartment and share a bed with my older male cousin. Like... there's nothing sexual going on - we just talk about life and laugh over stupid stuff lmao, yet even when us Asians explain this, Westerners are quick to accuse our male family members as "sexual predators" or "pedophiles".

I'm not uncomfortable at all with sleeping beside him, but these woke Westerners are trying to tell me how to feel and that I should call the police on him. Apparently I'm being "groomed" according to them.

Anyways, back to Albert - I always saw him as like this comedic character created to make fun of obsessive characters like him. I don't care much about him as a character and do think he needs to calm down with the stalking lmao, but hey - let's not call him something he's not. And if people like him, then cool. Just leave those people alone, esp since them liking a fictional character isn't harming you or anybody in real life.

Since Albert is the leader of the Barbara fan club, what club would you guys be the leader or member of? There's so many I can think of but I would love to be a member of the Alchemy Club which is led by Albedo himself.
