Chapter 3"You sure look certain I won't take you in?!" Greg's anger and frustration reached the roofs. "I came here because María wanted to see Tom and we have some business here, that's all. I didn't come here only for you to arrest me. Even still, I can't say I didn't miss you. Sorry for last time." She smirked. "Sorry? After you deceived, lied and tricked us into believing your fake story? You think sorry could justify all that?" He forced himself to hold his composure, easing up from his frown of irritation. "Tom. Where's María?" Greg waited a few seconds to think about where she could be before rushing back into the bar. "Gordon! Gordon!" Greg searched scrutinizing the noisy bar. Pushing away people to get through before realising Tom wasn't here, nor was María.
"I see, they aren't here." Tina said from behind, like she wasn't aware they left. "Come with me." He held her by the hand and dragged her back outside, harshly. "Where are they? Where's Gordon?" He furiously asked. "Don't worry. I'm sure he'll show up eventually." She took back her hand and stared at the angry man who gave a daunting stare.
"I have to go now." Tina turned away, still sure Greg wouldn't arrest her or turn her in. "Wait. What's makes you think I wouldn't take you in? Why so certain?" He asked, even though he already knew why.
"Because," she turned to face him, approaching him little by little. "If you were going to arrest me, you would have done it already. But instead you are going to watch me leave without lifting a finger." She snorted with a smile at his perplexed face and walked away. A moment later she was gone.
Greg held his hand in a fist and thought about what she said. She was right, she was right about everything.
Greg first priority right now was to find Tom. With the way Tina spoke it sounded like Tom would be back by sunrise.
The barkeeper told Greg he saw Tom leave with a tall gorgeous women with rainbow-like hair with brown light eyes. Those were the exact descriptions of María.
Greg saw no use in looking for Tom and headed to the hotel to wait for him there. What other choice did he have. Tom's phone wasn't responding and even if he answered his call it's unlikely Tom would want to tell Greg where he was. He has been waiting to see María in so long, why would he dissipate this chance.
Greg had multiple choices to make. He could wait in the hotel for Tom to show up or he could search for him...or he could tell the chief about Tina and María being here. But why couldn't he bring himself to doing the last one?
As Greg thought carefully at what to do, Tom, the man of the hour, sat idly by watching a criminal drive him to...to... "Where are we going?" Tom broke out of his gaze and looked over the dashboard. "To be honest, I don't know. Just felt like getting out of that place, with you." She smiled at him before taking her eyes back to the road.
She stopped the car by a gas station but still kept her gaze straight ahead. So did Tom. The awkward silence in the car was punctured by Tom's fake cough to start a conversation.
"You came back." He said still looking ahead. "Yeah, I did." She responded. "Are you going to arrest me?" She asked the confused man. "Umm...don't know yet."
"There was something I needed to tell you-" María turned to face him only to have him slam his lips to hers. Slowly placing his hand on her face, caressing her neck and face so gently she felt a little tingling down her throat. She responded quickly to the kiss like she's been waiting for this for so long. They broke the kiss and stared at each others eyes.
"I've wanted to do that since the moment we met. Glad I got the chance." He grinned still having his hand on her neck. Touching and feeling every part of her neck.
