Chapter 13.
Swirling in the seat beside Liam, Tom would sigh anxiously every second to while away the time, which made Liam feel regretful for accepting to help. "Could you stop that?" Liam warned. Tom immediately stopped, driving his chair closer to Liam, and giving an intense stare to the computer.
"What did you find?" Tom asked intensely keeping stiff eye contact with the non living thing before him. "An idiot."
"Where?" Tom changed his sights to Liam who stared straight at him, making the point of Tom being the idiot he found.
"Ha ha, look who got funnier than before." Tom sarcastically said backing up in his chair.
"It says that he was sent to an all boys school not long after being in a mixed school," Liam started off. "Why?" Tom leaned back in. "He used to be abusive to the girls there. There's a report of him getting arrested for sexually harassing his classmate, Amanda Clove. He was a minor so the case didn't stick. The school transferred him, not wanting a student with such uncivilised, ill mannered character in their school."
"So in short, he was an abusive, sexually harassing kid. He probably didn't make friends." Tom said.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but he did. He had a friend named, Kent Wilson. The guy from yesterday." Tom's eyes widened as he looked back at the screen with a blurred picture of two students in a school uniform. "They met in the all boys school. Henry and Kent were arrested when they were sixteen for beaten up a student to a pump. Kent took all the blame but it was later revealed that it was all Henry." Liam exited the site he used to get all his info from and swirled his chair to Tom who confusingly looked at the blank screen.
"Thanks. That's going to be really helpful." Tom turned to leave but turned right back to Liam for one last question.
"How did you get all that? A school that prestigious will want to hide all issues happening in the school. Especially, issues regarding troublesome students."
Liam smirked and swirled back to the monitor. "I hacked the school's software systems and found it. It was filed...Private. School Secrets. Hacking into school's softwares are seriously too easy." He snickered a little and went back to his previous work before Tom interrupted.
"Sure. Because that's normal." Tom sarcastically mumbled and left to inform the others.
Reaching for the doorknob to the investigation room, Tom noticed a figure at the corner of his eye and turned immediately.
Shockingly, Kent was here. Handcuffed and being sent away somewhere by two cops.
"Hey," Tom called out stopping them in their tracks. "What's going on?"
"He confessed. Kent Wilson murdered Nichole Jackson." The cops beamed as they spoke, happy the stress of having to investigate more on this case was finally over. "I see what's happening. You are helping Henry," Tom chuckled amusingly. Kent looked back at Tom, shocked. "I'll take it from here gentlemen. We still have one more person to catch." Kent frowned refusing to say a word.
"Put an alert out for Henry Lincoln." Tom said as he held Kent by the shoulder and dragged him roughly to the interrogation room. With nothing else to say, the other two cops did as Tom said, knowing darn well they couldn't say anything.
After slamming Kent into the chair as roughly as Tom could he sat opposite him and smiled, "Hi there. I don't think we've met. I'm Thomas but you can call me Tom." Kent tried avoiding meeting eyes with Tom. He kept his head down and his mouth shut. "You're a shy guy," Tom leaned closer. "I know Henry is involved in Nichole's murder, and you are trying to protect him." Kent slowly raised his head to Tom making the smirk on his face widen. "I killed her. I strangled her to death. And, I don't know any Henry. It was all me." Kent finally spoke but clearly it was a lie he spilt out.
