Chapter 7

"So she wants us to stay away from the Malcolm sisters? But why?" Tom asked rhetorically. "We need to find whoever is doing this." Greg spoke.

"I think it's time we visited an old friend." Tom informed before wearing his black trench coat. These two weren't ready to drop the case. They had no business with it but they got involved the day they took up the Barney's case.

"I didn't expect a visit from you. My sweet sweet sister." Tina sighed in irritation of who sat opposite her with a glass wall separating them. "Hello, Jerome." She needed to speak with the person who was the cause of all her problems, her older brother. "It's been almost a year. How have you been?" He smiled exposing his golden tooth at the corner of his mouth. "Cut the crap. I know you had something to do with the assassination attempts on my life. You think you can come back and take everything I built-" "everything you built!!" Jerome yelled and hit the table hard then looked at the security guards surrounding the area. He faked a conspicuous smile and continued, "it's my empire, not yours. You think keeping me locked up will save you from me?" He chuckled. She smiled and leaned in a little. "Your empire? I made it what it is now. I built it up in less than a year, while you wasted all your time at strip clubs. Don't forget, who took after dad. Charles may have taken over the business, but we all know who deserved dad's spot. And it wasn't you. If it wasn't for the primogeniture system I would have been the successor." She smiled once more and stood to leave. "Primogeniture? Sesquipedalian  doesn't fit a stripper don't you think?" He insulted but she refused to comment. Her arms folded to her chest. "Tina! If you step down from the business now and get me out, I'll spare your life and maybe give you back your position as a stripper." He laughed. Tina wore her sunglasses and replied, "what a generous offer. I'll think about it." She sarcastically smirked and walked out with Hernandez behind her.

Both siblings weren't ready to back down without a fight. Tina was determined to keep the business while Jerome was determined to take it back no matter what. A sibling quarrel which would lead to one getting what do want.

"Today's just full of surprise visits, isn't it?" Jerome sucked his tooth and folded his hands in front of the people who put him in here. "What do you mean?" Greg asked leaning over the table. "Let's just say I had a little family reunion." Greg and Tom looked at each other with a clear idea of who he referred to.

"You don't look too surprised to see me with a crutch." Greg reclined in his seat. "Not really, no. I heard you two are pretty close with my sisters. Oh and Tina, I see you have a thing for strippers." Greg held his hand in a tight fist beside him but Tom saw it and decided to continue before Greg loses it. "Was it you who did it?" Tom asked changing the topic. "Ha! You really don't know what you've gotten yourselves into. I do want to kill you both but I didn't order my people to bomb your car. I will kill you and it's going to be by my hands." There was no need to lie since Jerome wouldn't gain anything from lying. Tom and Greg were now back to square one.

"That's all." Tom stood up with nothing else to ask. "Wait! Detectives, try not to get yourselves killed." Jerome said, meaning he wanted to kill them himself. He grinned and Tom smiled at him before leaving.

"He's telling the truth. But who would blow up your car and who was the woman from yesterday?" Greg asked looking out the window. "We continue with the plan. Tomorrow we meet up with Tina." Tom was furious and annoyed by the fact that he didn't know who the mystery man was.

The car bombing was a warning so was yesterday's encounter with the woman. Whoever is behind this doesn't want them dead, he just wants Tom and Greg separating themselves from Tina and María. Could it be an enemy of Tina's or a friend?

They weren't even allowed to be apart of this case but they were involved. They were targets of people they knew nothing about.

"This is Hernandez, Leonardo and Zeke. They are my most trusted men. And there's Benjamin but he isn't here right now." Tina introduced with Tom holding his face in his palm. He looked agitated for some reason. "How oh how do you still know my door lock password after I've changed it six times already?!" That was why he was vexed. "Then stop making it too obvious." She said before sitting comfortably and folding her legs too. "Hey, I'm Greg and this here is Tom." Greg introduced as Tom was busily changing the password on the lock, again.
