There was a thunderstorm outside. Lightning shot across the sky and thunder boomed through the rain.
Tommy shot up from his sleep, or should I say nightmare.
He had tears rolling down his face and he was shaking all over. He couldnt remember the nightmare but he does know that someone close to him died.
He just can't remember who.
He looked to the side and saw that it was currently 2:54 am. Exhausted, he crawled his way over to his wheelchair.
He got the hang of getting in and out of the wheelchair from his bed. He now leaves his door open, just incase he has to leave. Like now.
He rolled his way to the living room. He was gonna watch some cartoons. He doesn't know what he'll watch, whatever is on TV will suffice.
He wasnt bothered getting out of the wheelchair, but he did move his body to sit criss cross in it.
He turned on the TV and made sure the volume wasn't too high. He didnt want to wake everyone in the house.
He flipped through the channels and settled on a show called 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'.
He watched about four episodes before someone went to use the restroom. Then he heard footsteps going down the hall. They paused for a moment then continued down the hall again.
"Couldn't sleep?" A raspy voice asked, Tommy looked to the sound of the voice. Nick.
Tommy shook his head and went back to the screen.
"Did the storm wake you up?" He asked, he checked his phone 4:20 am.
Tommy sighed, "No. I had a nightmare again." Nick nodded, he should've known, why else would Tommy watch cartoons?
"Mind if I join you?" He asked walking further in the room. Tommy shrugged his shoulders, he was still focused on the cartoon at hand.
He sat down on the couch. He watched for about five minutes and then began to talk again.
"Is that wheelchair comfortable?" Nick asked, Tommy shook his head, "No." He answered.
"Why didn't you just climb on the couch? Like you did to get into your bed?" Nick asked, Tommy was too tired to answer these questions.
"I just, I'm tired Nick. Everything i do takes so much energy. I feel like I'm barely hanging on, like my body is going to give out on me. I'm scared, man. I'm scared that if I fall asleep again, I might not wake up." Tommy explained, his voice was shakey.
Nick's eyes softened, he sighed. He stood and grabbed the remote turning off the TV.
"What gives?" Tommy asked, like he didnt just spew a bunch of mind eating thoughts out of his mouth.
"We're gonna head to bed." Nick stated simply. He grabbed the handles of Tommy's wheelchair and started pushing him towards the hallway.
"Im not tired." Tommy said, Nick scoffed. "You cant say all that and then expect me to belive you when you say you're 'Not tired'." Nick said sarcastically, Tommy slumped in the wheelchair.
When Nick didnt turn into his room, he sat up again.
"You're gonna stay in my room tonight." Nick said, he wanted Tommy to feel safe in his own home. That when he falls asleep he will wake up again.
This is just like how he was when they first met..
