The Promise (Joey Trotta boyxboy)

~Corey's POV~

I sneak out out my dorm room with Ricky as we meet up with Joey, Billy, Hank, and Snuffy

Joey smiles as he sees me and walks over to me

"Glad you could join us, hope this wasn't any inconvenience to the loner"

He says as I smile and bite my bottom lip, a light blush appearing on my cheeks as he rubs my back

I follow him and his friends downstairs through the school and into the cafeteria

Billy serves as the clear leader of this crew as he leads us into the kitchen and near the back

He and Joey grab and pull two racks away from the wall revealing a latch door

Billy pulls it up opening it and leading everyone down a flight of stairs and to a room with a tunnel

Everyone crawls through the tunnel while Hank and Snuffy joke about Joey's mom which leads him to snap back in a sarcastic joking manner

Billy pulls down on a string turning on a light above a little wooden table

He sets his bag on the table and pulls out a bottle of mouthwash, a phone, and a speaker

I stand around the table beside Joey as Billy pours six shots of this mouthwash as a toast to Phil, swearing to everyone that it isn't mouthwash

Everyone takes a shot including me as most of us spit it out because it taste just like mouthwash

Hank and Ricky question Billy about it where he goes on to explain that it's a money making scheme where he used vodka, crème de menthe, and peppermint schnapps so it appears and taste like mouthwash but everyone can have alcohol in their dorms

I step away from the table and look around the basement as the rest of the boys call a phone sex line

I look a different pictures as well as some old artwork

After about 10 or 15 minutes the boys notice a flashlight shining through the walk way of the basement

Joey rushes and grabs my arm pulling me behind a bundle of  boxes and paintings to hide with Snuffy while Ricky and Hank separate to hide somewhere else

Billy works on trying to get everything put away as he pours the mouthwash vodka out

Turns out that it was Dean Parker who shines the flashlight on Billy while everyone else hides

After a brief conversation between the two Snuffy's allergies get the best of him as he sneezes

"You can come on out Mr. Bradberry"

Dean Parker says as Snuffy stands up

"You too Mr. Trotta, may as well come out"

Joey stands up but not before whispering in my ear

"Stay put and don't make a sound"

As I continue to hide

"Mr. Giles and Mr. Montoya, come out now, or I'll place a guard on this basement and have a bed check of the entire school"

Dean says as Ricky and Hank get up all while I stay hidden

Dean Parker puts the flashlight in Ricky's eyes and flashes the light on Hank before shining it all around the basement

"Anyone else down here? Perhaps your roommate Mr. Montoya?"

He ask as he shines the light in the corner I'm hiding near

"Mr. Harris come on out"

He says as I huff and stand up, walking towards the rest of the boys standing beside Joey

Dean shines the light on everyone before finally speaking

"Gentlemen, I want to see you all in my office at 9:00 a.m. sharp tomorrow morning. Go to your rooms now. Move"

He says as we all start to leave but not before he stops to say one more thing

"Not you, Billy"

Billy stays put while the rest of us make our way out of the basement

"Will Billy be ok?"

I ask while Joey nods and grabs my hand

"Yea he'll be fine, if anyone can handle Parker's wrath it's Billy"

He says as we all walk upstairs each of us separating to our own rooms as Joey stops me outside of mine and Ricky's room while Ricky goes inside

"You know even though that kinda backfired I still had fun"

I say to him with a giggle as he leans down and kisses my cheek, catching me off guard as I blush

"See you tomorrow"

Joey says as he walks away leaving me alone in the hallway for a few minutes before I walk into the dorm smiling as Ricky is reading a magazine

"What's got you smiling?"

He ask me as I sit in my bed and pulls on the sleeves of my flannel

"Joey just kissed me on the cheek"

I say as I look down at my hands still blushing hard while Ricky smiles

"Joey's a good guy plus he hasn't had the easiest life either so the two of you could probably bond over that"

He says as he looks at me with a smile

"I can say one thing for sure though, after tonight you're definitely apart of our Rejects crew"

He laughs as I lay back in the bed and think about what just happened

THIRTY MINUTES LATER

While Ricky and I lay back in our beds we hear the rattling sound of the vent that makes both of us lean up and look at each other as Ricky stands up and walks over to the vent hitting the wood plank against it before the both of us leave the room and meet up with everyone in the hallway

"What's going on? Billy are you ok?"

I ask as we meet up with Joey and Billy in the stairwell

"I'm fine but I need both your help moving the headmaster's furniture downstairs into the quad. You in?"

He ask us which is followed by Ricky and I nodding just in time for Hank and Snuffy to join us who also agree to the plan

So that's exactly what we did before bed

We broke into the headmaster's office and brought all his furniture downstairs, setting it in the quad exactly how it looked in the office

It took this long but I can honestly say that I've finally made a group of friends that are willing to treat me with the same amount of respect that my dad used too

Maybe I'm speaking too soon but getting transferred to this school may have been the best thing to ever happen to me

For once in my life I'm content and happy with being my full authentic self and this group of rejects have supported me more in the last hour than my mother has in 16 years

After helping with the payback prank for Billy we all go back to our respective dorms and get some sleep after a long night
