~Joey's POV~

As Corey sleeps peacefully against my chest, I lay awake thinking

Thinking about life after this

Thinking about what's gonna change after the terrorist get what they want

And most importantly thinking about Corey and what the two of us are gonna be when this is all over

I mean my heart says we'll stay together but my inner thoughts tell me that he's only with me because I'm what's available

I try to shake that thought off as I rub Corey's back and lean down kissing his forehead, smiling as he lets out a sleepy hum in response

I look up and stare at the wall thinking about the first day I saw Corey in Mr. Miller's class

His beautiful blue eyes looking up at me as I took my seat beside him, the slight blush on his cheek as I smiled at him, his blonde hair that resembles gold, his tiny petite frame that I can just wrap my arms around and protect

He was just perfect to me and the first moment we shared in the hallway solidified my thoughts about him

When those guys knocked his books out of his hands I figured it was the perfect time for me to properly introduce myself and of course be a gentleman by picking up one of his books

I've never had a person make me smile as much as Corey does

The childhood I had prevented me from getting to know people and I try not to allow myself to trust the people I'm around but for some reason I trust everyone I'm in this room with especially Corey

As I sit thinking Corey starts to stir in his sleep before he opens his eyes and looks up at me

"Joey, what're you still doing up?"

He ask as he grabs my arm, checking my watch

"It's 2 o'clock in the morning"

He says as I look into his eyes and smiles

"I'm just thinking, go back to sleep"

I say as I lean down to kiss his forehead as he shrugs and lays on my chest

After a few minutes of silence Corey breaks it, not moving a muscle

"Are we ever gonna get out of this?"

He ask as I look down at him while rubbing his arm

"I hope so"

I say as Corey looks up at me and the two of us share a gaze before I lean down to kiss his lips

"Let's go to sleep"

I say as we both settle and finally fall asleep

~Corey's POV~

I wake up after barely getting any sleep as I get up from where me and Joey sleep as I start to get dressed

After getting dressed and waking everyone else up I sit around and wait patiently for the guards to call us out for headcount

After we're called for and go through headcount we walk outside into the quad

Billy has a book with information stuffed in between the pages, Yogurt is carrying his airplane, and Ricky is carrying a Soccer Ball

Phase Two of the plan is in effect as Snuffy walks off to get coffee for the guards on the roof

Yogurt starts up his plane with Ted

Ricky starts to kick around the soccer ball with Hank

Joey and I stand near the stairs of the building entrance while Billy wraps a towel around his elbow and sneaks down to the entrance under the steps

All of us give signals to one another before Ricky kicks the soccer ball just as it crashes into a window, giving Billy time to break one of the windows to the doors under the steps so he can sneak out and get the information we gathered to the outside world

Yogurt starts to fly his plane to add some more distraction which works until it gets a little out of control and gets confiscated by Luis and his gang

Ricky, Hank, and Snuffy soon join me and Joey near the stairs

Joey checks his watch and looks at all of us while I continuously look back at the door

"He's got 20 minutes to get back here before headcount"

Joey says as I turn back to look at him while Snuffy starts to look around as well

"You think he'll make it?"

Snuffy ask as I nod pull on the hemline of my crop top

"He'll make it"

I say while Joey looks over at me and smiles, leaning down and kissing my cheek

Ten minutes go by and there's still no sign of Billy as Joey checks his watch starting to get stressed which stresses me out as I look at Yogurt and Ted who have started approaching us

"Still no sign of him?"

Yogurt ask as Hank nods and looks over at Joey and myself

"What the hell is taking him so long?"

He ask as the time starts to tick away and before we know it the bell tower chimes signaling that it's time for us to go inside for another headcount

We try to wait around for as long as we can but one of Cali's men Carlos comes by with his machine gun and forces us inside

We get inside and are lined up as the American man in Cali's gang starts to count all of us

He counts and only gets 92, when he tells Cali he just makes him count us all over again which of course only leaves to him only counting 92

He tells Cali as he huffs and tells him to count again, after 3 counts all coming up 1 person missing Cali decides that enough is enough

"I told you what would happen if one of you escaped. Did you think I was KIDDING?"

He ask screaming the last part which makes me jump as Cali and the American man round up 5 people including the Headmaster, Ricky, and Myself

I whimper as I'm against the wall, my hand flat against it as I wait for what's about to happen when we hear a door slam, followed by wet slippery footsteps

Billy runs into the Cafeteria as the American man grabs him and points the gun in his face

Billy is soaking wet and has a towel wrapped around him as he uses his quickness to come up with a reasonable excuse

"Oh, Jesus, I'm sorry. I was in the shower. I didn't hear the bell ring"

Billy says as Cali approaches him

"He's wet"

The American man says as Cali feels his hair and looks into Billy's eyes

"So he is. Come with me"

Cali says as he grabs Billy by his arm and walks him out of the Cafeteria

The American man looks around at everyone and sends us all back outside into the quad

As soon as I get outside I collapse to my knees on the grass crying as Joey and Ricky run to my aid

Joey consoling me as he hugs me close and tries his best to calm me down

"Shh shh, it's ok, we're ok, nothing happened"

Joey says as I slowly start to relax

By now everyone was around me rubbing my back including Ricky who was also about to get shot
