local news: teen found dead in her home at 11 am this morning

the headline read, i ignored the possible chances of it being someone i knew and that i left it alone. ponyboy and johnny hopped into buck's t-bird that i was "borrowing" for the day. i wanted to take a ride around town before i had to go see y/n for our date tonight, something to keep me busy.

"you're wearing a clean shirt, what's up?" johnny smirked.

"date with y/n, ya know how much of a germaphobe she is." i joked, before putting the car into reverse.

        "dally, about y/n." ponyboy sighed.

"yeah yeah, i heard! and it ain't true, i was with her that night." i shut him up, not wanting to hear about those rumors of her cheating.

i began driving down the road, throwing leftover trash at socs. ponyboy was really quiet, a more of a depressing quiet kind. johnny and i left it alone and thought it was his stupid crush days that made him feel rejected.

time passed and the time almost struck 6:30, i couldn't wait another minute to go see y/n. i dropped johnny and ponyboy off at the curtis' residence, what seemed odd was that the whole gang had a depressed frown.

"why are you all staring at me like that?!" i snapped.

"your date with y/n, won't happen." darry sighed.

"the hell do you mean by that?" i grabbed darry by the collars of his shirt.

"she's dead, dally!" darry pushed me off of him, "she killed herself this morning. coroner says she shot herself with a gun that had a carving in it, said it had yours and hers initial."

"don't fuck with me, you're kidding!" i stormed out.

i sped up the t-bird to her house, her parents stood in front of the house in tears as the investigators walked out with bags of items. y/n's mom came running at me with a hug, her father following the sobbing lady.

"i'm so sorry for your loss, son." y/n's father firmly pressed his hand on my shoulder.

"she's actually dead?" i asked in disbelief, they nodded.

and to think that she was all happy in the beginning, i must've fucked up her life. i remember her smile the first day my eyes watched her, now it was all fake smiles and laughs with teary eyes.

i loved her too much that i ruined her...
