everything okay, baby?

i heard darry ask while knocking, i've been in the shower for over 30 minutes. i turn off the shower head immediately with the towel wrapped around my body in such a rush.

"everything is okay, dar." i reply sweetly.

i look at the test after waiting for so long that i decided to take a shower during the wait, pregnant. this baby will ruin practically everything as darry has so much ahead of him, two younger brothers to feed and raise, pay the bills that get higher and higher every day.

tears formed in my eyes when i silently sobbed naked on the bathroom floor, no weeping or whimpering, just straight silence. a small whimper escaped my lips which caused me to close my mouth.

"i heard crying, y/n open the door please." darry begged, i can sense him leaning against the door.

"promise you won't get mad if i let you in?" i pleaded.

"no matter what, i won't get mad." darry promised.

i opened the door for him, darry wrapped his arms around my shoulder as i cried into his shoulder, i could feel him rubbing my back. darry tilt his head to the counter where he found the test, my stomach dropped along with my heart.

he let go of me but kept his firm hands on my bare shoulders, his eyebrows furrowed together but not in an angry way. that still didn't fix the fact that he maybe upset with me and the pregnancy test.

"you're pregnant?" darry simply asks.

"i wanted to tell you but i didn't want you stressing out about a baby." i reply, tearfully.

"y/n, you could've told me either way, i wouldn't care as long as i still had you." his hands slowly stroked my hair, "i love you always, don't care about the other stupid shits i've said in the past, i love you now and forever will."

i wipe my tears with a smile, "that's too much, darryl, i don't want to be a burden."

"you are not a burden, y/n! you're the love of my life and you'll always stay like that." darry promises me.

"how can i tell you're not lying?" i asked.

"how about this, we get married when money isn't tight and flee this place with my brothers. find a place somewhere for our kid to feel safe and not have to worry about a damn soc, that's sounds good, yeah?" darry gives me those puppy dog eyes which made me cave.

i wiped my tears, "i always got your back."

darry sent a peck to my forehead along with another hug, i stayed in his arms. i felt him remove one of his arms to signal pony and soda out of the hallway to leave us alone, someone knew what was up.

"if it's a boy, he's definitely gonna play football no matter what." darry joked.
