"Which one of y'all is gonna help me get this big motherfucker out of here?" She asked me and Sammy. Olive was in the room because she was a mess and I didn't want my mom to know Olive had done it.
We wordlessly looked back and forth at each other and then back at her.
"Since you two wanna stand there looking dumb, both you dummies can help. Grab an arm, a leg, something dammit."
She rummaged through his pockets and grabbed his key and pressed the lock button as she looked out the window to locate his car. Then we started picking him up which was a little harder than it would've been if her arm wasn't wounded.
"Goddamn he's even heavier than I expected!" She said, as we tried to carry his body back to his car.
My arms were giving out as we got closer to the car.
"You got it, cmon." Sammy encouraged me noticing me getting weaker.
We finally reached his car and put his big dead, limp body in the passenger's seat.
She hopped in the driver's seat and told us to follow her.
Lord, what have I gotten myself into?
We drove for about an hour to Lanier Lake, a famously haunted lake in Georgia.
"Come help me!" She yelled.
We helped her move his body to the driver's seat as she put the car in drive and let it roll into the lake until it disappeared with a final cluster of bubbles.
We rode back to Sammy's and she cleaned up the blood, making sure it was no trace of Moe left inside of Sammy's house.
"Whatever you do, don't say a word about this ever, to anyone. I don't care if the police knock this door down." She said to us.
And with that, she was gone again. The house reeked of bleach but at least the job was done and honestly, I would be fine if I never saw that woman again.
I knocked on the door of the guest room to check on Olive.
"You okay?" I asked her.
"I guess."
"Olive, it's gonna be okay you know? It's all been handled, okay? Do not worry about it at all. You did the right thing, babe." I reassured her.
"He wasn't supposed to die, though." She said.
"Girl. Yes his trifling ass was. If you aint do it, somebody else would've. Everything happens for a reason and we're gonna have to move on and act like this never happened. Period. And you know Sammy and I are here for you if you ever need to talk about it. You cannot tell anyone else." I said.
"I won't. Can you take me home though?" She asked.
"Of course. You want me to stay home tonight?" I asked her.
"You don't have to, I want to be alone anyway. And Brian may come over, he wanted to talk." She said, sounding stressed.
I was hoping she'd say that. Even though it was a little late we were still gonna go to the club to keep up appearances and possibly have an alibi if anything went down.
"Okay. We gonna get ready to go in a few minutes."
Me, her, and Sammy got in the car to head back to the very place we fled earlier. Clearly, it didn't matter where we were - we still weren't safe. But I guess we were for now... until Moe's people realize he ain't never coming back.
When we reached our shot up house, I patched Sammy up and Olive locked herself in her room.
"She'll be okay right?" I asked him while blending foundation under his eye, worried.
