Sam stopped. It took him a second to register what exactly he was witnessing. He saw his brother lying on top of his best friend. He noticed them not wearing clothes. But it was like he couldn't actually see them, not really. There was a numbness. It wasn't as though he disapproved, he was fine with Dean being free with his sexuality. But this?
This was betrayal.
Sam was in utter and complete shock. 'Madison. Ruby. Julie.' Monsters. The memory of these girls began swimming, solely, down Sam's stream of thought. 'And now he's fucking our angel.' A monster, technically. But at the time, Sam had no regard of technicalities.
Dean had leapt off of Castiel and busied himself with covering his and the Angel's body. He hadn't looked up in time to see the vacancy cloud Sam's eyes. In fact, by the time Dean looked up, all he could see was pure, savage, fury that lit up Sam's tired eyes. It scared him, it terrified him. Dean reached an arm out as if it could reach the some 10 feet between he and his brother. He spoke slowly.
"Ok, ok Sam. I know what this looks like. I know this might be a little shocking to you. But I'm gonna need you to calm down. We can talk this through." He stopped. Waiting, hoping, Sam wouldn't go mental. Sam stayed silent. Dean tried again.
"Sammy? You with me? C'mon. This shouldn't be made into a big thing. It's not a big thing." Dean was speaking desperately, this was obvious.
Sam could not utter a word. It was physically impossible for him to speak. Instead, he turned, and walked out of the room, he kept walking, too. Out of the bunker. Didn't stop walking until he reached the impala's door handle.
That's when he started to drive. Didn't even look in the rear view mirror at his badly shaken, half dressed brother calling after him.
