Chapter 13

All it took was a white light

I stared at him in disbeleif. My dad was dead. My dad is dead. This is not happening, its like finding the locket all over again. If this really was him..... than there is so many things I want to ask him! Have to ask him!
Wait. Why am I believing this? I'm not this naïve. Why would I trust a man who broke into my house then claimed to be a wolf, and my dead father? When did I become this stupid. I shook my head clearing the thoughts from my mind and focused on him. I looked at his face, and gripped the long silver knife harder when I saw his scared expression. Innocent people aren't afraid.
I took one step closer, " I need you to walk out this door.... or.....or I'm gonna call the police!" I told trying to keep my voice from wavering and keeping on a poker face, making sure he couldn't tell how frightened I really was. He seemed surprised at my sudden outburst. Did he think I was going to believe him? Ha. He looked down at the sharp knife I was firmly gripping right as it glinted in the luminous light of the kitchen then back up at my face. I held my head high, as were my hopes that he wouldn't do something crazy and just listen to me. But I was almost positive he wouldn't. But I was still going to wait and see if he would prove me wrong. We stood in silence. I looked at his eyes. They were a bright and beautiful blue, with hair that was colored a sort of caramel color that reminded me of my little cousins. And smooth and ironically pale skin. Just like me. He looked at me with pity and sorrow. Why was he pitying me? If anything I should be pitying him, because I'm about ready to just get this over with! And that means something when it's coming from a girl with a knife!
"Just let me show you," he pleaded putting his hands together in front of him making sure to stay clear of the knife. I felt my hands go numb and the sweat running down the back of my neck like I just ran a mile in gym class.
What did he mean by show me? Show me what? I gulped down the lump in my throat and rapidly fluttered my eyelashes. I watched him as he took a step away from me and clenched his jaw and fists. He took a deep breath and.... he went blurry....
Through the what seemed like fog I saw his body.......change. It started out slow then it all happened at once. A bright light formed around him until it was peer white! I shut my eyes and dropped the knife. The only thing I heard was it clanging against the hardwood floor. After what seemed like a second I saw the red in my eyelids disappear and I warily opened them. I couldn't believe my eyes. A wolf. A large beautiful white wolf stood in front of me were the man was before standing. The same wolf my mom introduced me too. The same wolf the man claimed to be. If it was true and he wasn't lying about being a wolf, than would he be true about being my father? The questions once again swirled around in my brain. I put my hands on my head as I started to hear the voices of people repeat them to me over and over again. I couldn't take it. A sharp pain pierced my brain like someone rapped their hands around it and squeezed until it all when dark.
