** Putting a little note up here that the bolded text is the article that Tokoyami is reading, just to avoid confusion**
Contrary to popular belief, Tokoyami was a morning person. He loved the solitude of it, the lingering chill in the air from the night, the peaceful silence, and the beauty of a fresh new day, undisturbed by the ruckus of the afternoon and the bawdy salaciousness often found in the late night time. It wasn't uncommon to find the teen awake bright and early at the crack of dawn, reveling in the quiet of the early morning hours just before sunrise. That blissful peace was not a luxury afforded to him on this particular fine morning.
It was Kaminari who brought it up, and Tokoyami was almost impressed that the electric boy had managed to wake up before noon on a weekend until he saw the source of the ruckus. The excitable blond had all but sprinted down the stairs to the common room and waved his phone in Tokoyami's face.
"Dude! I knew it, you were totally bullshitting us earlier, you so too are related. See! We gotcha red-handed!" Kaminari pointed accusingly at Tokoyami as he frantically shoved his phone towards the other.
On the screen, once Tokoyami got Kaminari calm enough to stand still, was an electronic version of those trashy hero gossip tabloids. The various and sensationalized headlines claimed many a ridiculous thing about several top heroes, all of which Tokoyami refused to believe off sheer principle. "Kaminari, I fail to see what about this dark cacophony of defamation has caught your eye so."
"Oh, come on man! It's right here, this one!" Kaminari pointed to the top headline, something about Hawks that Tokoyami had breezed past because he knew the press had never once gotten anything right about the hero's personal life. He should have guessed it had something to do with his and Hawks' supposed relation.
Fully aware that there would be no way to escape the conversation, Tokoyami wordlessly held out his hand for the phone and read the article.
Scandal Among the Hero World; Hawks' Hidden Family?
Well, that was a promising title. Not.
Beloved hero, Hawks, the second-ranked hero in all of Japan, has a sordid little secret that he's been keeping from all of us. It's not a secret lover –tragic, we know, but hey, at least he's still single– and it's not a dark past either, as dramatic and intriguing as that would be. No, Hawks' best-kept secret, finally revealed after sixteen long years, is his secret brother.
We've been wondering for ages, searching for any scrap of information that we can get about Hawks' personal life, and here it is a veritable feast of intel presented to us on a silver platter. Hawks has been notoriously quiet about his family life, most heroes are, it's a dangerous world out there, but finally, finally, he's given us something. We still don't know who his parents are or even his real name, but who cares about that stuff when we can take a direct look into how Hawks nurtures the next generation of heroes.
Featured under the paragraph was a photo of Tokoyami from Hawks' public social media, it was from the first day of his internship. The caption, also included, read: Meet Tsukuyomi, my favourite intern! Don't let his gloominess fool you, he's as heroic as they come! Gods, Tokoyami hated the stupid things Hawks wrote in his media captions, why he couldn't just pay a publicist to do it would forever be a mystery. Tokoyami returned to the article.
This here is Hawks' brand-new intern, Tsukuyomi. Now, Hawks has never taken any interns under his proverbial, and literal, wing before, so what makes Tsukuyomi so special? Well, he's one of the famed students from UA's class 1-A, and boy, oh boy, does he pack a real punch. The guy came in third at the sports festival and lost only to the first-place winner! Hawks, of course, says he picked his intern for his skill and potential, but we think he had ulterior motives.
