The Fight (Part 2) (17)

Mia's POV:

'Hey look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault, who cares. Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know cause the city is- the city is flying. Okay look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.' Clint said. I sat on the ground to rest for a few minutes and listened to what Clint was saying.

Clint's so done with himself. I thought. Suddenly, another shot came through the wall, missing them both by inches, causing Wanda to gasp. Clint shot another arrow through the hole, hitting the bots on the other side.

'But, I'm going out there. because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit. It doesn't matter what you did or who you were. If you go out there you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good. I'll send you brother to come and find you, but if you step out that door, you are an Avenger.' Clint said.

'Alright, good chat.' he said and got back up. he got his arrows and readied himself before he went out. Giving me a nod. 

'Nice.' I muttered as I went out of the window I came through. I flew back to the front and fought bots there.

'Alright, we're all clear here.' Clint's voice came through.

'We're not clear! We're very not clear!' Steve yelled back. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Thor being smashed into the church. Most of the Ultrons were destroyed and we'd gotten most of the civilians in a safe place.

'The next wave's gonna hit any minute. What've you got Stark?' Steve asked.

'Nothing great, maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface  if you guys can get clear.' Tony said and I sighed.

'I asked for a solution, not an escape plan.'

'Steve, the impact radius is getting bigger every second. We're gonna have to make a choice.' I told Steve. 

'Cap, these people are going no where. If Stark finds a way to blow this rock-' Nat started to say as we made our way to the edge of the massive rock.

'Not till everyone's safe.' Steve said.

'Everyone up here vs everyone down there? There's no math there.' I said.

'I'm not leaving this rock with one civilian on it.' Steve said.

'I'm not saying we should leave.' I said and both the adults looked at me. I nodded, taking a shaky breath. 

'There's definitely worse ways to go, where else am I gonna get a view like this?' I asked, looking at the clods in the sky in front of us.

'Glad you like the view Williams, it's about to get better.' I heard Fury's voice and my eyes widened. An old hellicarrier was floating in front of us. Pietro came beside us, rushing.

'Fury, you son a a bitch.' Steve said, causing me to raise my eyebrows in surprise. Life boats started to deploy from the carrier.

'This is S.H.I.E.L.D?'  Pietro asked.

'This is what S.H.I.E.L.D.'s supposed to be.' Steve said.

'This is not so bad.' He said. 

'Let's load 'em up.' I said as I walked back to get the civilians. I saw Rhodey take out a few bots that were flying towards the hellicarrier. Things were starting to look up. Tony came up to help him. I got people out of the building and lead them to the life boats.

'I've got about 50 to 100 more coming in after this group.' Steve said. I flew up to see if everything was under control and saw Ultron being thrown out from the church. Suddenly, I saw a blast going off in the air and a life boat started to tilt off. 

'Thor, I got a plan!' Tony said from the other side as he helped the life boat become stable. 

'We're out of time, they're coming for the core.' Thor said. 

'Rhodey, get the rest of the people on board that carrier. Avengers, time to work for a living.' Tony said, causing me to roll my eyes. I reached the core and started to get the bots out of my sight. Suddenly, I felt a force on my back and I flew towards a wall. I banged on it and fell down with a grunt, my head hitting the floor.

'Mia!' I heard Steve voice, I got up, and touched my forehead. Hissing at the pain and when I retracted my hand, a thick, dark red liquid covered my hand.

'I'm fine.' I said and brushed it off. Pietro went over to Wanda who had entered with Clint.

'You good?' He asked.

'Yeah.' Wanda replied.

'Romanoff, you and Banner better not be playing, hide the zucchini.' Tony said.

'Relax, shell head. not all of us can fly.' Nat's snarky response came back.  She reached within a minute.

'What's the drill?' She asked, taking her position.

'This is the drill. If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we loose.' Tony said, pointing towards the core in the centre. Ultron was flying in front of us.

'Is that the best you can do?' Thor asked. Ultron raised a hand and hundreds if not thousands more of himself came into view.

'You had to ask.' Steve and me said at the same time. 

'This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How do possibly hope to stop me?' He asked.

'Well, like the old man said. Together.' Tony said and smiled. All the Ultrons came running at us from all side. I got a grenade out and pulled the pin. I threw it towards a bunch of Ultrons running in a pile. I looked up after a few minutes and Vision and Ultron were fighting. he threw Ultron back and shot him with the mind stone. Thor and Tony joined him and shot him together.  After almost every bot was taken care of, Steve spoke up.

'We've got to move out. Even I can tell the air's getting thin.' Steve said.

'You guys get to the boats. Mia and me will sweep for stragglers, be right behind you.' Steve said and I nodded.

'What about the core?' I asked.

'I'll protect it. It's my job.' Wanda said, looking at Clint. He nodded. Me and Steve left and started taking rounds around to see if everyone was on the boats. I couldn't see anyone and went towards the boats.
