Cindy and the deputy where sprinting over the alleyways, finally the undead lost their tracks.

Yet even with this they kept on going.

"Look miss..."

The deputy started, Cindy looked at the man.

"We're heading to the town's Zoo, Deputy Chief. Raymond from the R.P.D ordered a evacuation point there by helicopter."

Cindy: O-oh... alright...

With the deputy stopping on his tracks, Cindy did too, still feeling a headache.

He checked her wound, her head bleeding.

"Miss sit down for me please."

He instructed, she did so.

The deputy checked over one of his pouches, grabbing a small medical kit, opening it he pulled out a bandage, wrapping around her head where the blood was.

"Now tell me, how many fingers do you see on my hand?"

He had 2 fingers out.

Cindy frowned slightly, but complied, and looked at the fingers...

Cindy: Eh... oh... 2.

The deputy nodded.

"Good then, lets get going, not wanna waste any more time."

Cindy nodded. And thus both where back on track.

...

...

This side of the streets where unusually quiet, silence being interrupted once in a while by a gunshot or 2, or a moan from the undead. Either way, they had to keep going.

They where 3 streets away from finally arriving at the Zoo, just a little southbound. That is up until unexpectedly a zombie came out of nowhere, holding a grip onto one of the deputies' shoulders, both the deputy and Cindy fell down to the floor as the deputy attempted to protect her.

With some vomit coming out from that zombie, and a couple of quick but deepening painful bites ripping through his uniform and claiming the deputies skin, with a blood curling scream of pain, the deputy attempted to push the zombie aside, but he couldn't, with that he tried to push both him and the zombie's weight off from Cindy so she could squeeze out.

"R-RUN! DON'T LOOK BACK JUST RUN!"

The deputy yelled with his voice cracking, Cindy looked back in shock and horror as she gasped again, witnessing as the zombie ripped a good chunk of flesh off the deputy as he screamed, and the sigh of more undead piling in down the street, growling and moaning non-stop, dragging themselves to feast upon the deputy, with a last look, she looked a the deputy with tears in his eyes, trying to contain as much pain as he could.

With a shook in her head, she got up, and ran, crying, she still can't believe all of this, why is this happening?

Why?

...

...

She was close to the entrance of the zoo, but she had kneeled down upon a close store entrance and rested her back on the wall, she was breathing in and out panickly, putting a hand in her chest, she gasped for air as much as she could.

This was too much for bear to her.

Cindy: G-G-God please h-have mercy upon my soul... a-and o-others...
