The crazy journey to return to The united states starts off with an argument.

My father had rightfully used the money that my mom gave him on things that me and my brother wanted to buy, like ice cream and toys and whatnot. By the time my father needed to take us back to Tijuana, he was broke as hell.

Life is funny especially when you spend all your money on your kids. My father had asked Blanca to take us halfway to a bus station that he knew was cheap BUT, Blanca didn't want to because it was far away. My father begged her but she insistently said: "no"

Anyways... when she left to work my dad robbed around $100 american dollars out of a jar that she had on top of her wardrobe and he began to laugh because at the end she wasn't going to be able to get mad at him since he'd be out for about three weeks.

"She's never going to find out" he said with a smirk.

I had always seen a car outside of the house that never seemed to move.

 "Esperenme Aqui"

As the morning began to become hotter, my father locked all the doors making sure that nothing was opened . He had gotten the car keys and a couple of CDs to listen to music. The car was like a Camry, one of those 2006 ish models. We hopped on and my father began to drive.

One in the afternoon we arrive by the coast. you could smell the ocean breeze and as well the smell of fresh fish.

A beach.

The beach was called "El Malecon" one of the prettiest beaches I had ever seen. We got off close to the statue of a mermaid and a dolphin. Unfortunately, my father had a flip phone so we never took any pictures when in Mexico. Then we sat on the end of the rocks where our feet were close to the water. My father said something that defiantly stayed with me "I still have some money that your mother gave me, let's spend this money in a good way" Then he smiled at me and at saleem.

The first thing we did was walk along with the local stores by the beach all were either bars, or places to buy clothes, and then we came along an ice cream shop. My dad bought us both an ice cream then we continued walking by the rocks. When we were done, we went back to the car. Then suddenly my father received a phone call. It was the voice of an older woman. I didn't really hear what she was saying but my dad only said "ahuh, okay, esta bien". Then when the woman hung up, my father said another thing that defiantly stayed with me

"now we won't have to spend money in a hotel or sleep in the car".

Mexico has one big road to get from la Paz to Tijuana, you could take all Highway One, a straight highway with no left or right turns. During the next Two weeks, we began a fascinating Road trip, just me, saleem, and my dad. We were alone... dead alone on highway One, exiting the city of La Paz. This was a moment in which I thought "damn my vacations felt short" but in reality, I just had so much fun that I didn't want it to end. We once more experimented the heat of the summer combined with the dusty and very dry deserted area of Mexico. At first, all you see is dry green plants and a lot of cactus. Then you seem to see life when you pass by small towns that I could assure you that have a population of Fifty people. The farther you go, the more cactus and mountains begin to appear.

It's something incredible when you see so much... dryness throughout hours and hours and then you hear crows and rattlesnakes when you get down the car to stretch. What I didn't notice was that my dad was well prepared in the trunk with A LOT of ham sandwiches. He prepared a cooler and put all the sandwiches in ziplock bags. Next to them were oranges and cokes. But literally... I'm sure that there were almost 50 sandwiches.  We decided to stop various times and one of those times we had been sitting on top of the car when we heard  a snake right under the car so, my dad literally stepped on it, even grabbed it and threw it by some bushes. I screamed of course and so did i laugh. For sure my dad loved to act all tough in front of his kids.
