Wei Ying flipped through the pages until he heard footsteps. He closed the book and hid it in his bosom pocket.
He turned around and saw Xue Yang, "Wei Wuxian, do you want to stay here for the night?"
"Sure," Wei Ying replied.
"Okay, choose a room whenever you're ready," Xue Yang walked off.
Wei Ying took out the book and began reading through it. The book was about many things, healing, demonic cultivation, etc.
He read and read and read until there was a knock on the door, he looked up, "Who is it?"
"It's me," a head peaked out, it was Song Lan, "what are you doing awake? It's past midnight."
Wei Ying stood up, "E-eh? Already?"
Song Lan nodded, "You need rest."
Wei Ying nodded, "Alright, I'll be there in a few minutes."
Song Lan walked out without another word, leaving Wei Ying alone again.
He looked through the library and another book caught his eye. It was about creating a sect.
He read a few pages before yawning. He went to an empty room and fell asleep in no time.
Wei Ying was resting perfectly fine when he heard voices around him. He shot up in his bed and looked around in fear.
The voices got closer and closer until they sounded like screams in his ears. His eyes were filled with fear and he was covering his ears with his hands.
Wei Ying felt something touch his back and turned around quickly, only to see a figure wearing white, "Lan Zhan?" He whispered.
The figure, Wangji, stood there without saying anything.
Wei Ying reached a hand out but stopped when his hand went through the figure. He kept on trying in despair until he fell on the floor with a thud.
He looked back up and saw nothing. He sighed, "I really am going crazy."
He chuckled before going back to his bed and sleeping."Ah-Xian," Yanli said, "try this new candy I bought for you."
Wei Ying smiled with teary eyes, "Shijie..."
The scene changed to Wen Chao's face glaring at him and pushing him into the Burial Mounds.
He felt himself falling into darkness and cried out. He felt hands grabbing his body and pulling him down, deeper into the darkness.
With a sharp breath he shot up in his bed.
He was panting and his hair stuck to his neck.
Wei Ying took a deep breath and whispered to himself, "It was just a dream." He looked around and sighed, it was still dark.
Might as well make use of it. He stood up and walked to where the library was. He went inside and began reading a few books again, picking off where he left off on the book of building a sect.
He ended up finishing the book at dawn before passing out on the floor, the book laying on his chest.
Xingchen was the first to find him. He ended up picking up Wei Ying and taking him to his room, letting him rest.
The day passed quickly and Wei Ying was still asleep. Xingchen was starting to worry, "Why won't he wake up?"
"He must be tired," Song Lan reasoned with him. "He was in the Burial Mounds for a few days, he must've not slept. Don't worry too much, I'm sure he'll be okay."
He slowly slipped an arm around Xingchen's waist and pulled him towards his body. He didn't really like touching people, he in fact hated it, but he knew his lover needed comfort.
Besides, he was trying to get over his fears.
Xingchen smiled at the man and hugged him gently. He looked up at a flustered Song Lan and said, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," Song Lan said quickly.
"Are you sure? You're not uncomfortable?" Xingchen asked.
"No, the opposite actually," Song Lan slowly wrapped his arms around the man's waist and leaned his head on his lover's shoulder.
They stood like that for a while before Xingchen whispered, "Can I...can I kiss you?"
They have kissed before but it was a bit rare, considering the fact that Song Lan had mysophobia.
Song Lan hesitatingly nodded.
Xingchen smiled and leaned up a bit to press his lips against the man's. It was only a short kiss, nothing extraordinary, but it was enough for Xingchen.
Song Lan smiled bitterly at the kiss, he hated feeling this way. He hated the fact that he couldn't even kiss his lovers properly. He hated that he couldn't hold hands or hug or kiss more with Xingchen and Xue Yang.
Xingchen noticed this, "Don't feel bad, you can't control how you feel. One day you'll be able to do whatever you want without feeling uncomfortable."
Song Lan nodded a bit, "I know."
Footsteps were heard from the hallway and they both turned, seeing Xue Yang unwrapping a candy.
The two smiled at the man, "Ah-Yang," Xingchen said.
Xue Yang looked up and smiled, "Daozhang."
"I already told you to not call us that," Xingchen smiled.
"Then what can I call you?" Xue Yang drawled.
"Anything but that," Song Lan said.
"Fine. Xing-ge and Lan-ge!" Xue Yang exclaimed.
Song Lan blushed at the name while Xingchen chuckled.
"Whatever you want Ah-Yang."
Song Lan squirmed a bit before smiling secretly.
Xue Yang noticed this and walked forward with a teasing smile, "Lan-ge, what is it? You seem a bit flustered."
Song Lan looked away, "Nothing."
"Could it be that Lan-ge likes the name?" Xue Yang grabbed a bit of Song Lan's hair and played with it. He dragged a finger down the man's chest before looking up to see his lover's reaction.
Song Lan was blushing madly causing Xue Yang to want to continue.
"My Lan-ge is so handsome," he said in a sweet voice. "He could get it any day."
Song Lan coughed a bit, "Xu-Ah-Yang, we need to go to bed."
Xue Yang hummed, "Alright, we'll continue this later." He threw a smile at the man and walked away.
Xingchen who was watching all of this, laughed softly, "I never knew Xue Yang could get you this flustered."
Song Lan looked away, "Oh be quiet."
Xingchen nodded, "Alright, let's go to bed."
