A few days later Wangji was feeling down. He couldn't help but remember his time in Gusu, when he had his uncle's approval and pride.
He missed being with his family, but he had to learn to not dwell on the past. It wasn't easy of course. His past was what made him, him, and he didn't want to let that go completely.
Sometimes he would even touch his forehead as if to check if his headband was there or not.
Wei Ying had noticed this and figured out a plan. "Lan Zhan! I'm going to town to find a few things!"
Wangji turned to him and nodded, "Mn."
Wei Ying walked away and went straight to Yiling town. He arrived and immediately began looking for things.
He searched and searched until he found the perfect thing. Wei Ying paid for it before going to a few more stores to buy some more toys for the kids.
He soon went back home and saw Wangji playing with Yuan outside, "Ah-Yuan!"
The two turned around and saw Wei Ying holding multiple things. Yuan saw toys and ran over, "Baba got toys!"
Wangji walked over with a calm face.
Wei Ying gave the toys to the young boy, "Give them to the others too, okay?"
Yuan nodded, "Mhm!" He quickly ran off to find his cousins.
Wangji stood in front of Wei Ying who grinned widely, "Ah! I bought you something too." He took out a small box and opened it, revealing a beautiful black ring with a new moon. The small moon had two crescent moons on either side of it. "It may not replace your headband but I wanted you to have something as a welcome to my clan. Also a lo-"
He stopped when he realized what he was about to say. Wangji didn't notice though, he was too busy looking at the ring.
"You...bought this?" Wangji asked.
"Yep!"
"For me?"
"Yes."
Wangji looked as if he was about to cry. He took the ring carefully and put it on his finger, it fit perfectly.
Wei Ying smiled, "Good! It fits, I was worried it wouldn't fit since I don't know your ring size-"
He was cut off by a soft pair of lips pressing onto his. His eyes widened and he stepped back in surprise.
Wangji held his waist to keep him from falling and pulled him close to his body, kissing him gently.
After a moment Wei Ying smiled slightly before wrapping his arms around the man's neck and kissing back.
The two parted to catch their breath. Wei Ying panted, "You..."
Wangji's ears turned red and he looked away. He let go of the man and walked back, "I'm sorry."
Wei Ying pulled him back by the arm, "No, wait. It's fine, I enjoyed it." He smiled sweetly, "I've honestly always wanted to kiss you."
Wangji looked back shyly, "Thank you."
"For what?" Wei Ying chuckled.
"For everything," Wangji said.
"Don't worry, between us, there's no need for 'sorry' or 'thank you'. Okay?" Wei Ying said.
Wangji nodded, "Mn." He looked down at his ring with a content look. He suddenly looked up and said, "Will you marry me?"
Wei Ying froze, "E-eh? Lan Zhan, you can't just say that! My poor heart can't take it!" He dramatically clutched his heart and fell onto the man.
The corner of Wangji's lips curved upwards, "Mn, I will warn Wei Ying next time."
Wei Ying smiled widely before cupping the man's cheeks and kissing him softly, "Let's get married."

Months later the two were married and were raising Yuan together. Wangji took up Wei Ying's last name, since he wasn't part of the Lan Clan anymore.
"Zhan Gege! Hurry up!" Wei Ying called out. He had begun calling Wangji this since he couldn't call him Lan Zhan anymore.
Wangji walked up to him with Yuan and said, "Let's go."
The three went to Yiling town and began walking around, not having an exact place to go.
As they walked Wei Ying heard a voice, "Wei Wuxian!" He turned around sharply and saw a figure lurking in the shadows. He stopped Wangji and motioned with his eyes.
Wangji nodded and kept Yuan close to him while Wei Ying walked up to the figure carefully.
"Wei Wuxian! Stop messing around, it's me!" Wei Ying recognized the voice.
"Jiang Cheng?" Wei Ying asked.
It was indeed his brother, "Of course it's me! Hurry up and get over here!" He opened the door to an empty house.
Wei Ying turned to Wangji to nod, "Come on."
Wangji nodded back and led Yuan to the door, "Ah-Die, where are we going?" Yuan asked.
"Meeting uncle," Wangji replied simply.
The three went into the empty yard and saw a cloaked figure, who Wei Ying recognized, "Shijie?"
The woman turned around and pulled down her cloak, "Ah-Xian."
Wei Ying ran over and threw his arms around the woman, "Shijie! It really is you!" He pulled back and looked at her, "Why are you here? Did something happen?"
Yanli smiled, "Ah-Xian, calm down. I just wanted to visit you." She caught sight of Wangji, "Hanguang Jun," she bowed.
Wangji shook his head, "No need."
Wei Ying ran to his husband, "Shijie! We're married now!" He looked at Yuan, "And this is our son!"
Yanli smiled widely, "That's great Ah-Xian, I guess that'll make two of us." With these words she took off the cloak, revealing a beautiful red and gold dress.
Wei Ying's eyes widened and he pulled on Wangji's sleeve, "You're getting married! To who?!"
"Who else? Jin Zixuan," Jiang Cheng snorted.
Seeing that Wei Ying was going to say something, Yanli cut in, "Ah-Xian, I brought something." She walked to a table where a basket sat. She took out three bowls of soup and gave one to Wei Ying, Jiang Cheng, and Wangji.
Wei Ying smiled, "Thank you, Shijie. Your soup is the best!"
They all sat down and began eating, Yuan had seen his parents eating and wanted some, "Ah-Die, I wanna try."
Wangji nodded, "Mn. Here." He gave the bowl to Yuan who immediately began eating.
Wei Ying saw that Yuan had a bit of soup on the corner of his lips and took a handkerchief to clean him up, "Ah-Yuan, what are you doing? Getting yourself all dirty."
Yanli looked at them and smiled, "Ah-Xian, you're all grown up now."
Wei Ying grinned widely, "I guess you could say that. When is the wedding?"
"In a few weeks, I also need you to come up with a name," Yanli said.
  "For what?"
"For my future nephew idiot," Jiang Cheng snorted.
"Oh!" Wei Ying looked at Wangji was looking at Yuan, "How about Jin Rulan?"
