Chapter 3

Chongyun sighed in relief, he was almost late to his class. Good thing he ran fast. He took a seat beside his best friend Xiao. "Good morning Chongyun" Xiao greeted him. "Good morning Xiao" He greeted him back. "The professor is not here yet?" Chongyun looked around. "Nope, not yet. Maybe they had a meeting"

"And I thought I was late"

Xiao chuckled, "Did you stayed up all night?"

"Yeah, I came home late from work and I had to study for my math test" Chongyun slumped in his seat.

"Oh..."

Xiao thought for a second and an idea popped in his head. "How about I'll treat you ice cream later? Sounds good?"
Chongyun smiled, "Sure, I'll like that. Thanks Xiao"
Xiao smiled seeing his best friend happy.

The door swung open and Ms. Beidou walked in. She was the principal's secretary. Her high heels clicked on the floor as she walks inside the classroom. She greeted the students with a gentle smile. "Hello everyone. Starting today, you will have a new professor"

One of the students raised their hand.

"Yes? "

"Why do we have a new one, Ms. Beidou?"

"Because your last professor quitted their job. I'm not sure why but I think they were already done with your shit." *sigh* She massaged her temples. "Anyways, your new professor will arrive here in a couple of minutes, they still have a teacher's meeting soooo ya'll should wait, alright? Any questions? None? Okay bye bye." She smiled again before going to the door.

Once Ms. Beidou left, the students started to wait for their new professor, some of them are casually having conversations, others are studying or whatever. " I don't think our class is that bad, don't you think so?" Chongyun looked at the boy beside him. "Hmmm...well.. No." Xiao replied.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the students were getting bored. Some of them were already sleeping.

"What the fuck! How much longer are we going to wait? It's 30 minutes already!" Xiao was starting to loose his patience. Chongyun glanced at his watch. "Yeah, that professor is taking a long time"

"It's so fucking annoying!! Dude, our class is going to end soon. If that teacher doesn't show-"
Before Xiao could continue, the door suddenly opened and it caught all of the students' attention. A man with a slim build walked in, his eyes were aqua green which resembles the sky and the grass. He has dark blue hair that borders on black, with short twin braids that fade into aqua at the tips. He was wearing a nice suit.

"Hello everyone!! My name is Venti and I will be your music professor starting today. I apologise for being late because after the meeting, I got lost but good thing there were students who were willing to show me which way the classroom was. Sooo here I am. I hope we'll get along very well and I hope you will have something fun to learn."
He smiled widely. His voice was very cheery. Seems like he's energetic.

" damn why did it took 30 mins? "

Chongyun quietly muttered and then glanced at his best friend. The blue haired boy raised his brow, he was starting to get confused. Xiao looked a bit... lost. He didn't look so good, he looked like he was uncomfortable. Chongyun nudged his arm.
"Hey you okay?"
"Xiao?"
Xiao snapped out of his thoughts. He looked at Chongyun and gave a nervous laugh. "Yeah.. I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah.. Its nothing" He faked a smile. The atmosphere around him was starting to get heavy.

(time skip: lunch time)

After their math class, Chongyun and Xiao made their way out of the building. Chongyun stretched his arms, "FINALLY THE MATH TEST IS OVER!" he exclaimed. "It's not that hard tho" Xiao said.

"Easy for you to say, you're the top of the class. Me? I suck at it. It's so freakin' hard urghh! I feel like my head is going to explode just by looking at the numbers. "

Xiao laughed and looked at his friend with pity. He likes it when Chongyun was frustrated. The latter just pouted and playfully punched Xiao's arm.

"Hey, you said you would treat me ice cream. Can we go to the store now?" Xiao stopped laughing and stared at him with a smile on his face. "Sure"

Chongyun was feeling excited, he was a big fan of cold foods especially ice cream and popsicles. They made their way to the ice cream store. Once inside, Chongyun immediately went to the cashier but he turned around and looked at Xiao with a nervous smile. "Can you please uhh.." Xiao knew immediately what he was trying to say. So he went infront of Chongyun. "Can I please get two blueberry ice cream?" He smiled at the cashier who was weirdly staring at the two boys. "Okay that would be 500 mora." Xiao payed and thanked the cashier. After that, the two boys took a seat near the window. They gladly ate their ice cream.

"Thanks for the ice cream Xiao"

"You're welcome Chongyun. Btw you were so shy earlier, the cashier even made a weird look pfft maybe he was confused why you turned around"

"I still need to get over my shyness"

"Yeah you should HAHAHAHAH" Xiao tried to cover his mouth from laughing any further. "How many times must you laugh at me today?" Chongyun glared at him.

Suddenly, they both heard the bell of the door, meaning someone came inside. Chongyun glanced at that direction and saw a guy with dark blue hair and a weird hair cut along with a brown haired girl. Chongyun recognised them, they were on the same class as him (Science class). Though Chongyun was quiet and didn't really interact with anyone except for Xiao. He knew the boy who was named Xingqiu, he was really popular. He was talkative and he had so many friends. Some of the girls started giggling whenever he was around. His family owns one of the most popular companies in all of Liyue. Xingqiu's friend who was named Hu tao, was also popular. Everyone liked her because of her friendly attitude. Both of them were close and others think they were a thing. Chongyun didn't seem to care, he was sitting quietly in his seat and only payed attention to class.

The two of them went inside, they were both laughing and talking with each other.
They proceeded to the cashier and bought their ice creams. They went to find their seats and headed to Chongyun's direction. Xingqiu and Chongyun locked eyes. Icy blue eyes stared at Xingqiu's, he suddenly shivered. It feels like the person was coldly staring at him but he can't help but think that those eyes were sparkling like diamonds. It was mesmerising... He shrug it off and went to find his seat.

"You know him?" Xiao asked.

"Who?"

"That guy that passed through us"

"Eh.. Not really.. We're on the same class. " Chongyun blankly said. He was weirded out by the fact that Xingqiu's piercing eyes stared at him. It felt like he was looking through Chongyun's soul. Chongyun shook his head and shrug the thought off.
