Chapter 9

As soon as Chongyun closed the door, he quickly took off his shoes and put his bag on the couch. He headed straight upstairs and opened the door to his aunt's room. Once inside, there he was met with a woman who was sweeping the floor.

"Auntie Shenhe!" He muttered, he started to panic. Shenhe immediately turned to look at him, "Chongyun, you're home already? I didn't hear the door opening, huh.. Maybe I was too distracted with cleaning this pile of dust"

"Auntie you're supposed to be in bed, you are sick"

"Well I can't control myself to let the dust just stay there in the corner"

Chongyun just shooked his head, "let's get you to bed auntie. Don't worry I will take care of the dust there. Leave the work to me, you should rest first"

Shenhe softly gazed at her nephew, "Yun, you're so hard working and sweet. You even went to find a part time job just to put food on our plate. How I wish I would get better soon so I won't be a burden to you"

"You were never a burden, auntie. You took care of me and showered me with your love and affection ever since my parents were gone. And I really appreciate you for that. I love you so much"

Tears started to fell off from Shenhe's face as she sobbed quietly, "I love you too my Chongyun" Chongyun went and quickly hugged her. His aunt hugged him back. They stayed like that for a while until a cough from Shenhe interrupted them.

"Now let's get you to bed"

"Hahahahaha yeah"

Sometime later, Chongyun left the house to go to his part time job at the café.

"Hey Chongyun"

Chongyun glanced at the person who was at the cash register. He had green eyes and blonde hair. Chongyun smiled and greeted him.

"Oh hey Thoma"

"Ready for work today?"

"A little bit tired but I'm feeling ready"

Thoma worriedly smiled, "everything alright?" the blue haired boy replied, "yeah.. Just a little bit stressed about school lately"

Thoma hummed, "well if you need to take a break, don't hesitate to call me. I got your back" He smiled enthusiastically.

Chongyun chuckled, "Thank you"

It was now around 7:00 pm and the customers inside started to go out. Chongyun was cleaning the tables and as for Thoma, he was counting the money that they've collected today. Since there are no more customers arriving, they started to clean up the place.

Suddenly, the doors opened, both of them flinched. "Sorry-"
Chongyun went silent when he saw the familiar dark blue haired male.

"Oh I thought you guys were still open since the sign outside was still labeled as open"
Xingqiu smiled and started walking to the light blue haired male that he can't stop thinking about. Chongyun rolled his eyes and faked a smile, "Welcome to Qingxin café, what can I get you for today?"

Xingqiu smirked and leaned closer to Chongyun "I never knew you work here"

Now the latter was really taken a back by Xingqiu's actions so he backed away immediately. He looked down and picked up the spray bottle and towel he used to clean the table.
Tension was rising in the air and Thoma had been staring at them for sometime now. Xingqiu noticed this and said, "Oh I would like to get one cappuccino please"

Thoma turned red and coughed, "Yes sir. Excuse me, I'll be right back" he dashed off to the kitchen.

Chongyun and Xingqiu stared at him until he was gone. The dark haired male strike up a conversation again,
"What time do you guys close?"

Chongyun awkwardly glanced at him, "around 7:30 pm"

Xingqiu lips then formed into an 'o'
"Oh so I still have 30 minutes then"

"Well technically yes"

"Then why were you guys cleaning already?"

"Because there are no more customers coming in"

Xingqiu hummed and pulled off a chair, he then took a seat. Now it was Chongyun who asked him, "Mind telling me why you're ordering a cappuccino at this time of the day?"

"Well it's because last time, my mom said to buy her one but it started raining and then I ran, I fell down and the cappuccino might have slipped off of my hand. So today I'm buying her a new one again"

"Oh so that was the reason you slipped?"

Xingqiu widened his eyes, "wait what?"

"You forgot? I was the guy who gave you an umbrella"

Xingqiu widened his eyes even more that it might slip off his sockets. "How could I forget that. Ofcourse I remember"

Chongyun laughed at him. Man is this guy for real?

Xingqiu then remembered something "Oh I forgot about your umbrella sorry. It's in my room, I forgot to give it back to you"

Chongyun gestured his hands up "No worries, I still have an extra one. Let's just hope that it won't rain tonight" Xingqiu laughed loudly, "Yeah"

Chongyun's change of attitude shocked him. Earlier this morning he was pissed off and then now he was having a normal conversation with him. "Btw if you don't mind me asking, why are you working part time? Do you need money?"

That sentence made the light haired boy frown. Xingqiu immediately panicked, "Oh no I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

The latter sighed, "It's fine, I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell you. Well the reason is my aunt fell sick for a couple of weeks and still hasn't recovered so she stopped working for awhile. It's only the two of us in our home and we need money to buy food and her medicines so I decided to get a part time job"

"Oh I'm so sorry, I hope she recovers soon"

"Yeah, I was planning to bring her to the hospital but she doesn't want to. She's a little bit of stubborn sometimes"

"Well you should convince her to atleast get a check up"

"You're right. I hope she agrees"

Xingqiu smiled, he was happy that Chongyun opened up to him. Chongyun smiled at him too. He felt relieved because he got to tell about his situation to someone, he wasn't expecting that Xingqiu would be the one who'll get to know about this but it's okay cause he feels that the heavy weight on his shoulders were removed.

"Okay I got your cappuccino- ummm.. Did I disturbed you two?" Thoma let out a nervous smile.
