The Lot

Gumi's P.O.V.

It was finally the last day of school and I already had my plan ready. After school, I'd say goodbye to my friends, wait until everyone leaves as I hide behind a bush and watch, and when they do, Gumiya shows up at last, since he is always the very last person to leave. Then, I'll follow him and eventually gain the courage to talk to him. Because I haven't talked to him in so long and there is so much we need to talk about. I can't wait until this day ends. I'm finally going reunite with Gumiya!
It was now right after school and I had said goodbye to my sobbing friends who'll be out of town this summer so I won't have anything to worry about.
I watched as students left behind my bush and then, finally, Gumiya came out. The last one.
I watched him walk away and when he was a good distance away, I began to follow him. As I followed him, he went to his house, dropped off his belongings and came out with a plastic bag full of something. Then, he walked into the forest. "Where are you going?" I thought.
We made our way out of the forest and ended up in a vacant lot on a hill overlooking the town. He then sat down and started to eat something from the bag. Carrots! My body began to shake. While my stomach began to growl with my mouth seeping drool. So orange and delicious.
No! Stop it Gumi! You can't go out there like this. Compose yourself Gumi. Composure.
I slapped both of my cheeks and began to wipe off the drool from my mouth. Breathing in and out, I finally got the courage to get out there. I turned and began to run towards him.
"Guuuuuuuuuumiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaaaa-kuuuuuun!"
"Huh!?" The moment he turned around, I threw myself at him. Hugging him tightly as I laid on top of him. Not caring how wrong it looks.
"G-Gumi-san!? Wh-what are you doing?" Gumiya asked nervously, a blush creeping up on his face.
"I'm hugging you obviously. Also, is that anyway to say hello right after a long time apart?" I said playfully and pouted. Just to tease him.
"G-Gomen." He stuttered.
"Hehe. Don't worry about it." I said as I got up off him and sat upright. He to, sat up right again, close to me and our arms were brushing against each other and I felt my body tingle.
It got quiet but it wasn't ackward. It was peaceful. Because we just looked out at the sunset with it's warm and soft glow of gold and orange. It was beautiful. With how it painted the sky mixing in many colors and it made the town sparkle. Not only that, but it brought out Gumiya's features. Making him look like he was glowing himself along with the sun. And his hair shone too, as is it was being moved around by the warm summer breeze.
He saw me staring and looked over at me. I quickly looked away and a blush began to paint my face red. I heard Gumiya chuckle and he started to pet my head. It made my heart pound harder and blush deepen.
"You know what?" Gumiya asked, bringing his hand back behind him, propping him up.
"Nani?" I asked; looking over at him as I brought my knees to my chest.
"Since I've met you, I haven't been so sad lately and every time I see you, you make my day." Gumiya said happily as he smiled at me.
My eyes widened and my heart began to pound so loud that Gumiya might hear. Looking down at the grass I smiled.
"Really? I'm happy that you feel that way." I said.
"Oh, you also make Shiro happy too, see." Gumiya added. Just then, the Albino ferret popped out of Gumiya's uniform and ran up, and climbed onto my shoulder rubbing up against me.
"Hehe I'm so happy to see you too Shiro. Aaaaaw, you so cute!" I squealed as I started to pet him. Both Gumiya started to laugh and ended up talking to each other even after the sun had set and the stars shone.
It was just very blissful. I listened to many of Gumiya's stories and each one was fascinating. He talked about all the places he had lived and how each place was slightly different from the other. All the things he's seen, all the animals he had taken care of, and many, many other cool things. He even had many funny stories to tell me about. I was enjoying myself, just sitting here, eating the carrots he brought with him. It all was so sweet, like a dream. I wished that we could stay like this forever. Yet, that wish didn't last long. There was this sudden pressure in the atmosphere and then, a rumble. Gumiya and I stood up, trying to keep our balance as the ground began to shake. Shiro then ran off and Gumiya looked towards the forest, eyes widening with fear.
"Gumi! Duck!" Gumiya yelled. Yet, it was too late, I felt something throw me aside and I landed about fifteen feet away from where I stood.
"Gyaaaa!" I screamed as I hit the ground. Pain began to spread from my right arm. I looked down and saw three giant gashes. Placing my arm over it, I winced, fighting back tears. But they just started to fall. Blurring my vision.
"GUUUUUMIYAAAAA!" I yelled.
"GUMI! Run!" I heard Gumiya yell from where I originally was. Wiping away the tears, my eyes widened at what I saw. On top of Gumiya was an ugly monster that had glowing eyes and razor sharp teeth. It was black and has spikes along its back and its claws.
A woman with a crystal staff in her hand descended from the sky. She had on a dark crystal like head gear in her dark swallow tail shaped hair. Not only that, but she had luminescent blue eyes and wore a two piece outfit and long boots over her dark skinned body. She was beautiful.
"Hahaha, so we meet again Megpoid-san. The legendary immortal have human and demon spawn." She said with an eerie calmness that chilled me to the bone.
"I'm not a demon! I'm human Merli!" Gumiya yelled at her furiously with the beast still on top of him. What the heck is going on?
"Oh but darling, you are a demon. You're a monster. A very powerful one though. So powerful that its power can give me control over this world and the world of demon eaters. With that power, I can finally bring everything to chaos. It'll be magnificent. I'll finally rein supreme, no longer just a shadow. So, please be a good boy and let me have it. The power that could erase existence." Merli said in delighted voice and smiled a sweet smile that hid her evil intentions.
Merli stood over Gumiya and the monster, looking down at them. Pointing her staff at them, she shot a violet ray of power; disintegrating the monster and leaving a hole in Gumiya's chest. His face with the look of shock and terror printed on it.
My body froze and eyes widened with tears streaming. I was scarred now because of what it witnessed. I just saw my friend be killed. Not only was he my best friend, but my crush. I loved him. I still love him. Now, he was taken from me yet again. Not again.
"Ie! Ie! Iyaaaaaaaa! Guuuuuumiyaaaa!" I screamed.
Once I saw that lady again, my sadness turned into rage. Rage then turned into bloodlust. I'll kill her. I'll kill her just like she killed Gumiya. She'll die! I'LL KILL HER!
My face scrunched up with anger and I forced myself up. My fists were at my side and I shook with rage. I'll kill her. I'll kill her. Let me kill her. I'M GOING TO KILL HER!
Just then, a silver glow began to come from my right right fist. Then, that glow turned into a silvery liquid like substance. I squeezed it and it formed into a katana. It's blade shone like the moonlight.
I readied myself, and started to run. Hoping that all those kendo lessons from my big brother would help. Help me kill this wretched woman.
I started to run towards her as fast as I can, yet, she merely looked at me with an unamused look on her face and with a wave of a hand said,
"Kill the human girl." With that, a army of beasts jumped from the forest and ambushed me. Yet, they didn't hurt me.
I turned towards them and started slicing at them and with ever kill, a silver glow would come out as they disappeared and my sword absorbed it. Using it to get more and more power.
As I fought, when ever a tried to beast attacked from any of my open spots, a piece of the substance would drip from my sword and shield me so I can get time and kill the beast.
I kept fighting; adrenaline and bloodlust guiding me. I didn't have time to think about what was going on or why this is happening. I just had to keep on fighting and reach Gumiya and Merli.
As I kept on fighting, the never ending raid of demons, a green like fire began to form around Gumiya's corpse. Growing bigger and brighter every passing second until it shot up into the sky; a massive inferno.
Merli began to laugh a psychotic laugh as her face lit up with joy.
"Muwahahahaha! Finally! After a year of slumber you have awakened my little monster! I, Merli, have awakened you! Now! Follow me! Together we'll rule this world and Demon Hunters world together!"
The flame cylinder dispersed and revealed Gumiya who looked fine. Yet, it wasn't him him. It was just a demon possessing the Gumiya I love.
Gumiya had glowing green fox eyes and he had green fox ears and tail with jet black bat wings. Not only that, he had sharp teeth and his nails turned into claws that could rip even a building. The green flames surrounding him.
All of a sudden, a blue wall surrounded the perimeter of the lot and a gold box around Gumiya. Suppressing both him, and the green blasts he let out to break his prison.
I turned my head towards the forest and saw Aoki holding her arms out making the wall around the lot; with Galaco focusing on Gumiya and his prison. In front of them, stood IA, Yohio, Sonika, and three other people. Two pink haired and gold colored eyed people; a man and woman. The man had on normal black clothing, cap, and held a black katana. Along with a ruby eyed and silver haired middle school girl who held a variety of knives in her hands.
The person who stood out the most was the woman. She had long pink hair with Sakura hair pins on both sides of her hair. She had on a pink, short, flowing dress with white detached sleeves that had Sakura print on them, and they reminded me of yukata sleeves. She also had on light pink, Sakura printed, thigh high socks and traditional sandals. She held a fan that had the print of a pink sky with white clouds and colorful flowers in the corner; at the handle of the fan, a Sakura charms dangled there. The Sakura lady was beautiful and I couldn't help but stare at her. Luckily, my sword put up Shields or else I would've been dead by now.
She saw me and smiled. Then, she was the first one to speak. "Merli! Stop this madness at once." She ordered in a strong and firm voice.
Merli scrunched up her face, agitated.
"Fools! Go against me and you will die! I'll achieve the demon's power and I'll destroy everything you Demon Eaters love. I'll make all of mankind my slaves. And I'll make Demon Eaters suffer like they have made me suffer. Yo..." Merli's rant was cut short when Sonika let out an exasperated sigh. Clearly annoyed.
"Uuuuuhg, we get it. It's the same deal with every bad guy. But you know what? I'm not here for the speech, I'm here kick butt. Now, if you please....Shut up." Sonika said, as she two guns formed into her hands and she pointed one at Merli. A smirk on her face.
"You disrespectful Demon Eater." Merli said with disgust. Sonika merely shrugged and smirked again.
"I've been called worse. Also, I can't decide who's worse. You or Yohio. You both annoy me so much." Sonika mocked.
"Demons! Kill them all! I'll be back and when I do, you'll all be sorry!" Merli threatened as she disappeared into thin air. Even more demons began to rush in as Aoki's Shield fell as she tried to protect Galaco.
I kept on fighting and then, as a bunch of demons tried to jump at me all at once, a slash of gold light hit them and Yohio jumped in front of me. Smiling at me as he held a whip.
"Yo. I see you're doing well. I'm glad a cutie like you isn't hurt badly. If you were, I'd cry my eyes out." He said a cheerfully sincerity. I blushed and then saw some more demons coming at us.
"Yohio! Look out!" I warned him.
"Kuso!" He yelled in frustration. Just as he was about to whip out at them, they were blasted away. Yohio and I turned and saw Sonika, a smile plastered on her face.
"Hahaha. Motto(more)! Motto(more)!" She chanted, crazed as she enjoyed blasting away at the demons.
Then, I noticed that the others were fighting too. The man was fighting with his black katana that had black fire come from it and burn its enemies. The middle school girl had knives floating around her and she threw them at her targets, never missing. Then, the Sakura lady was fighting beautifully with her fan as it sliced the monsters as it flew in the air, coming back to the lady who had cherry blossoms floating around her. She reminds me of IA for some reason.
"Gumi!" I heard IA yell from behind. When I turned, I saw her fighting with a crystal spear.
"Gumi! Go to Gumiya! Save him! We'll keep take it from here. Now go to him! Go!" She ordered me.
Listening to her command I ran towards Gumiya as fast as I can as I gasped for air and killed any demons that got in my way. And every time I killed a demon, I felt my sword absorb its power. The power kept growing and growing. There must be a reason why it can do that, and I'll find out soon enough. But first, I have to reach Gumiya. I'm so close.
"GUUUUUMIYAAAA! I'm coming!" I yelled at him as I reached the golden cage that held Gumiya captive.
"Gu..." I started but stopped when Galaco yelled,
"Guys! I can't hold him any longer! He's going to blow! Duck!" With that, everyone jumped out of the way, and the golden box exploded and disintegrated as Gumiya let out a powerful green blast; killing all the demons, and I was thrown back but didn't get the full hit of it. My weapon shielding me had took most of it. Absorbing what power it was hit with.
I propped myself up with my arms just in time to see IA and everyone else attack Gumiya all at once with full force. Yet, I didn't see what happened next because the silver substance that was my weapon, had formed a dome around me. All I felt was the ground shaking.
Once it stopped shaking, the dome had formed into a substance again to form itself as a silver ring on my right hand's pointer finger. Not wanting to come off.
Getting up, I felt a pain in my right ankle. I looked and saw it turning purple. I must've twisted it or something. But, I ignored it.
I limped over towards Gumiya, trying not to look at anything else but him. Within the kicked up dust and smoke, there stood Gumiya, he was injured and still in his monster form. But, even if he was a monster, I love him. So, I must be there for him.
I now stood in front of Gumiya like a soldier, not moving an inch despite his growling. Even as he bared his sharp teeth, I kept coming closer until I hugged him tightly.
He screamed and tried to push me off but I still clung to him. Even as his claws dig into my shoulders. It was ok, he's just scared.
"Gumiya! It's me Gumi!" I started to cry out.
"Fight it! Fight off the monster! I know you can do it! You're strong! Don't be afraid of what might happen! Just come back! Please! I beg of you! I'm never going to leave your side so please don't leave mine! I'm not going to run away from you! I'm not afraid of you! I know who you really are and you're not this! You're not a monster! You're Megpoid Gumiya! You're my best friend! So please come back! Don't let this monster eat you up! Gumiyaaaaaaaaa!!!! Come baaaack!" I cried out, not letting him go. Slowly, the growling stopped and the claws disappeared. He stopped struggling.
"Gumi." I heard Gumiya say in a raspy voice. I pulled away and looked at him. It was Gumiya. My Gumiya. The real Gumiya. Tears began to pour down over my scratched and dirtied face as I smiled at him.
"You're back. Youkata(I'm glad). I was so scared I might've lost you." I said with a sigh of relief.
"G-Gumi I...." Gumiya started but couldn't continue because he began to cry as he hugged me.
"I-I was sacred Gumi. I'm sorry. Look what I did to you." He choked out as he saw the claw marks on me. I just smiled and said,
"It's ok. Don't worry about it. I'm just glad to have my friend back. Gumiya, I'll always be your friend no matter what. So please, promise me to always smile." I said softly and smiled at him. He too smiled, tears still falling from his eyes.
"Sure. I promise." He swore.
"Youkataaa~" I trailed off a I felt all the pain and exhaustion creep on me all at once, then, everything went black.
