Gumi's P.O.V.

"Hai. Let's begin." I said with a firm and earnest voice as I stared back at Merli. She smirked and then vanished. Then her voice began to echo out.
"Let the games begin." She began to laugh and I started to run. I don't know where I was running to, but I just ran through the town square and I hid in an alley way.
Now what? I know this is all an illusion but where is she? She's watching I know that. But where? Think Gumi. Think.
Just then, I sensed something coming my way. I moved left and a purple blast had barley missed my head.
Running out of the alley way and back into the open I yelled out loud with rage,
"COME OUT AND FIGHT ME MERLI! STOP PLAYING WITH ME! FIGHT ME! COWARD!"
"Ahahaha. I'm right behind you though." I heard Merli say in my ear.
I jumped back and saw her standing there, giggling. Then she was gone.
"Nani(what)!? Do..."
"Behind you!" heard he yell. I turned and didn't see her there but then a mold quickly broke away and shielded me from a blast above. That jerk!
Jumping up into the air, I floated in place looking around. Just as I thought, it's like a dream world. It's a space where a person can create their own world and space as they can trap both them and their opponent in. It can be controlled and you can enter and exit whenever who gets past this world. Except, it's Merli's dream world and she is the one who made the dream spell. She's in control of who leaves. I have to find her before she comes up with something. Quickly.
I landed on top of a skyscraper and looked outward. Found her.
On the neighboring skyscraper there she stood. The wind was blowing at us but I ignored the piercing cold. It's not real unless I let it be real. Don't think about it. Just her.
She stared back at me with cold blue eyes that stand out against her dark skin. They remind me of the eyes of a predator. A cat.
"Hoooo? You found me out pretty quickly didn't you? Darn. I wanted to play with you a little more. Confuse you. Make you cower with fear. Oh well, You'll at least decorate this world with red." She said with a wicked smile as she transformed her staff into a sword.
I readied myself and she jumped towards me with such force that I lost my focus and I was thrown into the ground with so much force that I made a crater.
"Gyaaaaaa!" I screeched feeling the pain. Merli laughed as she started to shoot herself towards me, her sword pointed at me. A smile on her face.
I quickly got up, and jumped up into the air. She missed me again. Even if I was in pain, I really wasn't so I kept telling myself it isn't real and that it's just an illusion so my brain wouldn't focus on the pain. It went away. Yet, if I get hurt by Merli's weapon, then I'll really be injured and then I can't trick myself into thinking it isn't real. Like what would happen to Merli if I injure her.
Looking back at Merli, she started to laugh.
"Ahahaha. You're pretty good. But..." She vanished and ended up beside me. She was so close in killing me if it wasn't for my weapon. It's useful. Now, that I know it's quick enough, time to make some risks.
I jumped back from her and began to think. Ok, let her attack you first. Observe what she does. Learn.
"Hooo? Why do you keep running? How about I become more direct?" Merli said as she rushed at me. I then split my weapon into two so now I had two swords. This is only for observation.
Merli then disappeared and I sliced upwards but she wasn't there.
"Fufufu. Underneath you." Merli said as she tried to cut me but my weapon shielded me again.
I ran away and she started to follow me. She then lashed out at me and to no avail.
We then jumped away from each other and we were gasping for air.
Merli looked angry now. She then spat out viciously,
"What a disgusting weapon! It's disgusting how it molds and molds like slime! Also, it's disgusting how it protects you! Why won't it let me kill you!? I'm going to kill you Kyuuseishu!" She yelled as she shot towards me. This time she was direct and our swords finally clashed. When it did, I felt a heavy pressure in my chest.
The shock must've been seen on my face because Merli smirked.
"Hoooo? So you aren't used to such high dark life energy huh? Good." She said as she kicked my stomach. Throwing me back hard as I flew back.
"Gyaaaa!" I screeched and blood came out. Damn. What the heck. Why did I falter? I know it was dark but there was something else in it. It was sick. It wasn't just that hatred, bloodlust, and envy. It was utter loneliness. Loneliness and despair. That's her motive! If I just somehow break that, I'll be given that opening. I'll be able to beat her. But right now, she is too full of anger and bloodlust. I have to first beat that.
Struggling to get up, I wiped away the blood from my mouth. Merli laughed. She's like a mad man right now.
"Ahahahaha! What a beautiful red. I want to see more of it. A lot of it! Lots and lots of your blood! I want more!" Merli cried out as she came in for another attack. By how she launched off that time, she's going for another head on attack. So I have to do a long range attack.
As she was coming my way, I had my weapon turn into guns. I then began to shoot. Merli scowled and back away as she jumped up onto a lamp post.
"Tch. What a disgusting weapon. It doesn't have it's own form so it takes on other forms. How can such an ugly thing exsist? Well, the real question is, why do you exist?" She said evilly as she jumped at me and this time, she got my right shoulder. Dang, so my defense can't work when the enemy is in really close range.
"Kyaaaa! Haaaa. Haaaa. T-teme(you)." I growled with anger as I breathed heavily with pain. My shoulder was bleeding now and I had my hand over it, squeezing it.
"Ahahahaha. What a pretty red. So dark and glossy. It's a scarlet isn't it? Such a beautiful scarlet." Merli laughed out crazed. I can't hold back anymore. I have to fight to my best ability. I'll might have a chance. I just have to make sure I fight with accuracy and thought.
Steading myself once more, I gripped the liquid and it turned back into my Katana, except now the blade has become longer.
I stood there, with my arm bleeding and eyes narrowed.
"Hahaha. Still standing? I'm quite surprised. Even as you're bleeding, bruised, and scratched, you're still standing. For that I'll give you a good job. Your prize, Death!" Just then, Merli launched herself at me. But instead of dodging it, I let her impale me. The blade went into my side and I cried out in pain as tears began to stream down my face. It hurts. It hurts so much! I wanted the pain to end. I wanted to end. But I can't. I have someone to meet with again. I have to save him. I have to go to Gumiya. He's waiting for me.
Merli was laughing as she began to dig her blade in deeper into my side. But what she didn't notice that I had my own blade up in the air and I then dug it into her back and it came out so it was now visible in her front. Blood was coming out of it.
She gasped in pain as she pulled her weapon out of me fast.
"Kyaaaaaa!" I screamed as I held onto my side. Blood seeping from both my sweater and hands.
I watched Merli stumble backward as she stared wide eyed at my weapon that was protruding from her stomach. Blood the color of scarlet dripped. She was shaking and she collapsed onto her knees screaming out with pain. I continued to watch her from where I was as I gripped my side, forgetting about my also bleeding shoulder. It hurts. It hurts so much. But I mustn't die just yet.
"Aaaaaaaah! Hyaaaaaaaaa!" Merli screamed. She had dropped her weapon at this point as it was lying by her side. She was trying to pull out the sword only to have it cut her palms and dig it deeper.
"Get it out! Get out! Get it get it out get it ouuuuuut!!!!" She screeched blood rushing out of her mouth, splattering everywhere as an effect of it.
Slowly, I limped over towards Merli, blood dripping onto the cold, gray, cement road as it made a trail with every step that I make.
Now, I loomed over her and she looked up at me with her face contorted with anger and hatred. I just kept looking down at the once beautiful woman with pity and sorrow.
"Gomensai. Gomensai." I repeated with tears in my eyes. She was suffering. That was it. She was lonely and she had to suffer. I put my hand out and my weapon liquified once again and it formed a ring on my finger once again.
I collapsed right next to the woman and hugged her. She was about to fight me but I squeezed her tighter. She gasped at my action and I then said,
"Gomenesai. You were only lonely weren't you. People had hated you. And you were lonely. I felt it when our swords crossed. Gomenesai. I wish I could've saved you. Merli-san, please, you don't have to forgive me, but please forgive the world. Not everyone hated you. You're mother loves you and so does Aoki. Your big sister. They all love you so much. So please, don't hate everything and everyone. There are people who love you. Also..." I trailed as I placed my arms on the Merli's shoulders as she stared at me with wide, shocked blue eyes that were glossy with tears. I smiled at her and said,
"I forgive you. You were only lonely and wanted companionship. I don't know if you'll accept it, but, can I be your friend." I said cheerfully and honestly. She stared at me shocked and then she started to cry.
"Y-You mean it?"
"Hai! I'd love for us to be friends." I said. She smiled and collapsed. Still crying. I caught her and held her tightly but gently as I placed her on my lap. She looked up at me with her now soft blue eyes.
"Arigatou kamui-san."
"Gumi. Call me Gumi. We're friends now."
"Gumi. Haaa. It's an adorable name. You're amazing Gumi. You really are different. I appreciate it. Arigatou."
"It's ok. That's what friends do. We're always there for each other." I said encouragingly as I tired to fight back tears. Then, I accidentally had a tear fall as it landed on Merli's cheek. She smiled.
"I haven't been cried for before. It makes me feel so happy and special. Arigatou." Merli said as she lifted up a weak hand to my crying face. I placed my own hand over hers and pressed it there.
"Because you are special Merli. You always were and always will." I cried. Merli laughed a sweet laugh and smiled such a sweet smile. If only she could've lived like that. I hope she is reborn and able to smile and laugh. Please forgive her like I have forgiven her Kami-sama. Please. She deserves a second chance. Please.
"Arigatou. Arigatou." Merli repeated happily.
The dream world then disappeared and was replaced with the real world.
Aoki rush over towards us and knelt over Merli, sobbing.
"Merli! Merli! Merlii!" Aoki called.
"O-nee-chan?" Merli said as she brought her hand down and looked at Aoki.
"Merli! Let me heal you!"
"Yadda(no). Daijoubu(it's alright). I'm happy. Onee-chan, I made a friend. She's really nice. She loves me too. Isn't that nice?" Merli said innocently.
"Hai! Gumi-chan is the greatest friend anyone can have Merli-chan. She is so nice and loves us all." Aoki reassured her as she took one of Merli's hands into hers.
"Hai. Onee-chan, do you think Okaa-san would love to see me again?" Merli asked weakly.
"Hai! Okaa-san(mom) loves Merli-chan and she's going to give you the biggest and greatest hug ever. She loves you so much." Aoki said cheerfully with tears her eyes.
"Youkata(i'm glad). Onee-chan, can I tell you something very important. I just wish I told you earlier." Merli said weakly.
"Hai! You can tell me anything." Aoki said.
"Onee-chan, thank you for always loving me. I love you onee-chan." Merli said with a smile. Aoki then began to sob as she hugged her limp sister.
"I love you too Merli-chan. You'll always be my Kawaii Imouto(cute little sister)." Aoki cried.
Merli hugged her sister as she said softly with what little strength she had left,
"I'm so happy. I'm so happy to be loved again. I'm so happy." Then, she started to break down into golden orbs as they began to float up into the night sky. Then, both Aoki and I cried out a blood curdling screams as we had tears fall for a loved one.
Now, I must save Gumiya. I can't lose another person so dear to me. Gumiya, I'm coming.
