It's been a day since I got to Alexandria. Yesterday, right after I got through the gates, I was sent to Deanna, the leader of the place. Surprisingly, she was happy to let me stay in, what I would call, heaven. They have food, running water, electricity even! I am the luckiest girl in the world, thanks to Carl.
Oh ya, Carl. I can't get over what he said yesterday. About me not being his girlfriend... "yet". He didn't say anything else after that. I'm just confused.
But... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't falling for him. I'm almost mad at myself. I just met him yesterday, and I'm already thinking like that, if you know what I mean. ;) Anyway, I have met quite a few people being here. It's nice to have some friends around for once. There's even a girl around my age, named Enid. I think we'll be good friends.
Deanna even gave me my own house. It's a lot smaller then the others, it's only one floor, but it's really nice and all for me! And it's only two houses down from Carl's, so that's a plus. Speaking of Carl, we're both on watch, hanging out on one of the watchtowers. Deanna says we don't need people on watch, but Rick, who I found out is Carl's dad, disagrees. Sasha, a lady that's part of Carls group, was on watch before us, but the others got a little concerned about her, so they made her take a brake. She seems a bit... unstable, so I understand why they took her down.
"Let's play a game." Carl says. We're sitting on the roof of the watchtower, and it's really nice out. The wind blows in my hair. "You really love playing games, don't you?" I laugh, and so does he. "What game? Never have I ever?" I joke, and he chuckles again. "We have some cards, we could play some card games." He says then looks at me. "Oooorr we could learn more about each other." I laugh at his suggestion. "Ok, fine. Tell me your history, Grimes."

After about 2 hours of explaining what we were before we met, Sasha relieved us from our "shift". Carl has lost so many people, as have I. Many of his friends, and worst, his mom. I feel bad for him, but I've lost everyone too, so we comforted each other. We also talked a lot about before the apocalypse. The memories, good and bad. We pretty much just vented out everything that was in our minds to each other, and it was nice. I had a lot of fun.
However, I have also found out something tragic.
I've fallen for him. Hard.
I can't afford having this amount of feeling for someone, it's not healthy, especially in the end of the world. I'm gonna get my heart broken.
I'm in bed now, thinking yet again about Carl. I don't know what to do. He likes me the same right? I mean why would he say "yet"? I don't get boys. If you like a girl, tell them, so we can just get to making out. I laugh at myself. I'm such a dork. Then, my door bell rings, breaking me from thought. I get off my butt and go downstairs to open the door. When I open it, I'm greeted by a sheriffs hat. Speak of the devil.
"Hey Carl. What's up?" I ask. "I just wanted to let you know that me and some of my friends are gonna be hanging out at my place, so come on over if you feel like it. Enids there." I smile. "Alright! Sounds like fun. I'll walk over with you then." I step out the door and we walk two houses down. When we get in the large house I can already hear guys yelling and music playing. Video games, I already know. My brother would always hang out with friends, blast music, and play Xbox.
Carl leads me up the stairs and into a bedroom. When I walk in I see two guys, around my age, playing video games, and Enid sitting on the bed watching. "Guys, pause the game, we have a newcomer." Carl announces. Great. More first impressions. The TV screen pauses, and the guys focus their attention on me. "This is Y/N." He says slightly pushing me to them. "Hi." I say shyly, waving. I'm not really the best at meeting new people. "Nice to meet ya Y/N" on of them says to me, playing around with one of the Xbox contolers. "You too." I smile. You see? "So, Y/N, this is Mikey," he says pointing to the boy playing with the controller, "and this is Ron." he says pointing to the other, who has scruffy-ish looking hair. "And of coarse you already know Enid." he finishes with a smile. Alright.. well hello. I'll just go hang with her while you guys play your video games." I laugh. Enid smiles and pats a spot on the bed. "Come sit." I smile and sit with her. Carl looks at me with an "Are you sure?" look. By now the two other guys have already started playing again. Its nice to think Carl doesnt want to leave me for the guys, but he can have his fun. "Play. I've got a friend to hang around with." I say. He mouths a "thank you" and sits on the floor in front of the TV.

An hour later we are all sitting on the bed, just messing around, making jokes, and having a good time. I find Carl getting closer and closer to me, but I wouldn't say that's a problem. We're in the middle of Mikey telling us all about the old friends he had, when Enid stands up to go to the bathroom. "Be back soon, gonna use the bathroom." She says before leaving. We continue.
"Hey, I'm gonna go see what's taking her so long. Be back in one sec." Carl says after 5 minutes of Enid being gone. "Tell her I'm here if she needs anything." I say, laughing. Carl leaves and we continue our stories. I told the two boys all about my family and old group. The conversation only last for about 3 minutes, but Carl still hasn't come back. Is Enid ok? Maybe she's having TOM (time of the month) trouble. "Hey, I'm gonna go check on Enid too. She might need a girls help." I laugh out. I get up from the bed, open the door, and look out.
Carl and Enid, lips connected.
Oh.
