Kagaya Ubuyashiki, a name known, respected and praised among the Hashira.
Muzan Kibutsuji, a name feared, hated and frowned upon among the Hashira.
That was the topic that never left your mind, why would it? It was too interesting not to think about. You were petrified of the demon king, his authority and capabilities among those creatures of evil made you worry for humanity.
Hopefully it will be put to an end sooner or later.
Ah you were early again. Master Kagaya Ubuyashiki had called a meeting among the pillars. Perhaps new information on Muzan had been discovered, or a member of the Twelve Kizuki had been causing trouble, or maybe the pillars had to report previous encounters with demons. All you could do was walk and see for yourself.
Amongst all the Hashira, you were the most respected and powerful, being able to perform tasks efficiently and with great ease and technicality. You got along pretty well with most of the Hashira, mostly among Shinobu and Giyuu.
As you entered the neatly cared for outdoor space, you waited until more pillars arrived. You gave a wave to Mitsuri, a very chirpy good morning to Kyojuro, a smile and a hug to Shinobu and a nod to Giyuu. You hadn't noticed that the other hashiras had started to line up, soon the doors of the marvellous building opened wide. The Master was escorted outside by two beautifully dressed young children. Everyone bowed, instantly falling to their knees. His smile rested softly on his face.
After greeting each other and being briefed on some recent findings, the master had turned his gaze upon you. "Y/n, I'm incredibly impressed with your resilience against the demons and commitment to the Demon Slayer Corps. Lately you have shown pride and technicality amongst your efforts that we can all respect, and for that, I thank you." he said, his composed smile resting easily. You bowed even lower and nodded your head to respectfully acknowledge his words. "Therefor, I have a task for you, one that might be incredibly strainful even for a Hashira of your ranking."
Your stomach fluttered with excitement, you always loved challenges and you felt honoured that you had personally been given a task by the leader of the Corps himself. You nod, awaiting his further instructions.
"The problem is as follows: there have been countless people going missing or found dead in the busy streets of Shinjuku, a town located centrally in Tokyo. Some of the lower ranking slayers have been found killed in gruesome ways and some reported possible members of the Twelve Kizuki." he stated, the rest of the Hashiras let out slight gasps at the mentioning of the Twelve Kizuki.
Your heart dropped. Shinjuku? No. That was your hometown, maybe you were in doubt because of it's sentimentality to you. It was very likely that such a popular town would be a demon hotspot. You feared that your parents and siblings would be victims of the demon uprising, so your heart fluttered with adrenaline, ready to protect the people as well as your family.
"I'll do it. If I may be excused to head there as soon as possible, I want those demons gone as soon as possible." you said, a fiery seriousness glued to your face. The master simply nodded with a smile, you then stood up and bowed to him and the remaining Hashira and then went on your way.
