Five years later.

"Hey Rob. It's me, junior. I know we weren't close when we were growing up but I want to change that. I know you're overseas doing your own thing but I want to write to you every now and then. I hope that's okay."

"So I met this girl today. She was very beautiful I just had to say something to her. But I didn't.. I really really wanted to though. I bet you would've said something to her. You've always been more of the brave type. I mean look at what your doing right now. A true hero."

"Okay so I saw her again. The girl I spoke to you about before. She actually smiled at me. Can you believe that? A beautiful girl like her smiling at a scrawny scrub like me? I don't know why she smiled. But I'm glad she did. Cause if she didn't, I wouldn't have gotten the courage to ask her out."

"Sorry it's been a while since I wrote you. It's hard to take my attention off of her. You'd understand if you met her. God, I really want you to meet her Rob. She's special. I can feel it."

"I'm finally gonna ask her to be my girlfriend today. Wish me luck?"

"She said yes."

Robyn flipped through all the letters Junior sent her and boy was it a lot. Her brother has been talking about this woman he's been dating nonstop. From the sound of it, it's safe to say that he's madly in love with her. Robyn wanted to meet this mysterious woman whose captured her little brothers heart in less than 6 months.

For the first time in 5 years, Robyn was coming home.

She didn't tell anyone that she was coming home because.. who would she tell? She felt like she didn't have anyone. Judging by all of the letters junior wrote her, he wanted that to change.

Robyn set up in a motel nearby the neighborhood she grew up in. She needed a stable job before she could go looking for an apartment.

She knew exactly who she needed to talk to. Her dad. He had connections. He could easily get her a job back on the police force.

Robyn has been home for almost a week now and still hasn't seen her brother or her father. She figured that it was time to go and see at least one of them today.

She dialed Juniors number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?" Junior answered.

"Hey. It's me"

"Oh my god. Robyn?" He sounded excited through the phone. Robyn nodded as if he could see her.

"I'm in town. I wanna come see you and finally meet this girlfriend of yours"

"When'd you get here? I would've came and picked you up"

"I know, but I'm here now"

"I'll send the address. See you soon!" He said before ending the call.

Robyn put her shoes on and was out the door by the time the address was sent. She knocked on the door. She didn't have to wait long before the door came swinging open.

"Sis!" He had big arms out inviting her in for a long hug. Her little brother was now taller than her. It was surreal to see.

"Look at you. You got so big" she smiled playfully hitting his stomach. He covered his stomach and attacked her back.

"It's been so long Rob. Come on inside, I want you to meet someone really special to me"

She walked inside and looked around his place. It was pretty roomy. She was impressed.

"This a nice place you got here" Robyn said. It's a good chance that whoever he was dating was helping him with the upkeep.

"You think so?" He asked.

She nodded. "Yea, you're pretty clean for a guy"

"Don't stereotype me now" he laughed. "Babe, she's here!" Junior called out.

"I'm coming!" Juniors girlfriend called out from another room in the house.

Robyn scrunched her eyebrows. That voice.. There was something about that voice that sounded so familiar. She turned around to see who it was and laid eyes on her ex girlfriend.

"Beyoncé?" She said.

"Robyn" Beyoncé looked like she just saw a ghost. Her skin turned pale as her mouth hung open. Neither one of them were expecting to see each other again, especially not like this.

"Wait- you two know each other?" Junior raised his eyebrow in question.

"Yea.. uh.. we actually used to date" Beyoncé told him.

Robyn scratched her eyebrow and looked anywhere but her face.

"Woah, I did not see that coming" Junior laughed. "Wow.. is this awkward?" He asked looking between them.

"What? No. It was literally so long ago" Beyoncé immediately responded.

"Yea it was just an old fling, meant nothing" Robyn's voice was full of sarcasm after hearing Beyoncé so easily discredit the depths of their former relationship.

Beyoncé nervously bit her lip at her tone. She didn't mean it like that. She just didn't want junior to feel weird about this. Maybe she should've thought of Robyn's feelings as well.

As much as Beyoncé wanted to run to her and hug her tight she kept her composure and smiled simply saying, "It's good to see you"

Robyn's eyes were still in shock. She was convinced she was seeing things because no way was this the Beyoncé she dated five years ago. That Beyoncé would never look at a boy let alone be with a man.

"...Same to you" Robyn said back.

She honestly didn't know what to say but she kept her cool. Robyn rubbed her forehead as she thought of a way to get out of this awkward situation.

"I just remembered that I have a ton of paperwork to do.. I don't know why it slipped my mind until now" she concealed the lie with a fake laugh.

"Don't tell me you're leaving already? You only just got here" Junior refuted.

"I'm so sorry" she began backing towards the door as she went on with her apologizes. She knew that if she wasn't a foot out the door he'd find a way to keep her there and that was the last thing she wanted to do.

"Oh no worries then. We've got plenty of time to catch up now that you're back home. See you later" he hugged her. Beyoncé wasn't sure of what to do so she just waved awkwardly at her as Robyn opened the door and walked out.

Robyn closed her eyes and sighed once she was out of sight. What a fucking disaster.
