Chapter 7: Flaming Owl is Here

The young lady bounced from shop to shop, internally pouting as she remembered she didn't have any money so she could only do window shopping for now. As she walked , she was glancing over at some jewelry only to feel a gentle push against her front. 

Her eyes flicker in front of her as she blinks down at the male that bumped into her by accident.  She stares at him for a while as her eyes had blanked out before snapping her fingers now pointing at him " Flaming owl guy " she grinned in victory at remembering where she saw him from.

Indeed it was the flame hashira , who blinked only once as he smiled " Ah Kamijo-san , surprised to see you out here " he raised an eyebrow confused by the name before he chuckles " My name is Rengoku Kyojuro." 

She blinks tilting her head as she stares slowly leaning close as she rubbed her ear 'This guy is a bit loud...his eyes are pretty though ' she continues staring not realising she had stopped blinking herself .

He stared back in confusion as his smile remained " ...Kamijo-san ?" He tapped her shoulder gently trying to get a reaction from her . Though now he noticed what she was wearing as his eyebrows slowly raise up in surprise with a soft pink hue appearing on his cheeks.

She twitches after a bit " Huh ..oh sorry got distracted for a moment,  your eyes are very pretty " she smiles tilting her head as she moved back out of his personal space " Anyway its nice to meet you Rengoku-san ...I should probably explain why I'm here instead at Sanemi's place..well the short version is that I get too energetic in the night so I can't exactly sleep "

"Ah thank you for the explanation but this village is quite far...a 1 day trip for a normal person.  So how did you get here ?" He shook his head lightly snapping out of the light trance as her compliment about his eyes was now stuck in his head . Most people thought they were weird or creepy especially with how wide eyed they are and that fact he rarely blinks.

She chuckles then gestures at him to follow her as she quickly makes her way back to the alleyway from earlier " Well I can show you if you want to...but you have to stay close..probably hold my hand to be safe,  so ..do you trust me ?" She looked at him holding out her hand .

He made a soft hum in thought staring at the offered hand ".....well I will put my trust in you for now , no funny business " he smiled grabbing her hand as she gently tugs him into a shadow.

For a moment he saw nothing as there was only darkness around him though he could actually feel the small hand in his own that led him through the cold darkness. 

After a few minutes they exited out into a nearby forest " And ta da " she smiles at him as he was shivering a bit pale from the lack of warmth in the shadows though his eyes shone with intrigue and awe at the change of scenery " We are now in a different area, what an interesting ability you have ."

She chuckles softly as she nods a few times " Yea but annoying when its morning ...ah if you want you can let go of my hand,  I don't mind though ..you're quite warm ."

His eyes flickered down at their hands as he had subconsciously tightened his hold on her own , a soft flush appeared as he shook his head " I don't mind the hand holding either . .if you are cold , I can give you my cloak if you wish ." 

She laughs softly in amusement " Nah its fine I'm used to the cold...and you without the cloak would look weird ...anyway the village we left is nearby,  we can walk back."

He nodded as they started to walk through the forest while she led him , one thing he became curious about was how one of her eyes would lighten up "  Why is your left eye now different from your right ?"

She blinks as it dulled down once again " Oh right my second ability is soul search ...I'm using it to find our way back since there is a big concentration of souls that is this way so that means that the village is in that direction " she pointed ahead of them while gently tugging his hand as they walked.
