Chapter 9: Worst start of the Day

Night has passed and the sun was up. The Wind hashira was making his way to the guest room after he had breakfast.

He grumbled silently slamming open the shoji door to the side . His eyes narrowed at the lump under the futon which wiggled for a bit from the sound .

"Get up , you've not eaten for who knows how long ?" She hasn't eaten for a whole day or two , which unfortunately made her feel weaker to the point she can't even crawl out of bed with the small energy she had absorbed. 

He heard a small groan from the lump before he rolls his eyes baring his teeth in slight annoyance before moving the blanket away. 

She laid there curled up with her arms wrapped around her body , her eye slowly opens to stare at him " .....I'm so...hungry " tears streamed down her face .

'....pathetic ', was what went through his mind as he sweatdropped before picking her up in a fireman carry before making his way to the dinning room .

She hung there limply, whimpering at her empty stomach as she really was hungry and would eat anything. " My stomach....owwww" 

He shakes his head as he got to the room and dropped her on her seat ,she swayed for a bit before her head slammed on the table. He flinched at the sound as he frowned. He was still not sure if he should believe the explanation she gave of having superpowers but he was having second thoughts .

He sighed as there was some food placed on the table by some of the kakushi that stayed at the estate ."Now eat if that's the case, stop acting so ...weak "

She remained like that as her hands slowly slid across the table, she tried to collect the food only for her arms to go limp. 

She whimpered, as she was shaking with a puddle forming under her face, yea she was quite weak and the pain of starvation was getting to her.

He stayed there watching her in silence as his eye twitches a few times "...truly ...pathetic " he sighs before walking over as he grabbed the back of her head and tugged her up so she sat up properly even if she was slouching. She looked spineless.

She whines softly at the insult as her head tilts back " ..hheeelllppp me, man...my energy...is so low..." She huffs closing her eyes after a bit. 

He stared at her narrowing his eyes "....are you kidding me...,you're a grown woman , act like one " he moved to remove his hand which ended with her face nearly slamming back onto the table only to be thankfully saved by him placing his hand under her face"....are you serious.."

She trembles as she truly did feel pathetic but it didn't mean she wanted him to tell her , she was a hero goddammit but here she was, in the most ridiculous position and having a hard time with just breakfast. Where was Vlad and his donuts when she needed him. 

She blinks feeling her body moving back and laying against a solid mass with a scarred hand reaching over her side to grab the chopsticks. 

" ...what...do you want to eat , and speak up " Sanemi growled lightly as he moved her gently, his eye twitching a few times in annoyance at having to feed her.

Her face turned a rosey red in embarrassment as her eyes scan the table " ..t..thank you...I'll.. have rice please " she mumbles  bit as he grabbed the bowl and pulled it close.

He looked over to the side grumbling as he gently started feeding her as his face turned a bit warm. He really was grateful that not many people visit his estate. The only reason he was doing this was to make sure sure doesn't starve,  that was his current mantra .

She ate quietly as she relaxes against him slowly ,her heart was racing at the positon but her only thought was to eat and fill her empty stomach . She mumbled a soft thanks once it was finished as she searched the table for a bit " .. can...I have some of the ohagi?" 

He remained silent before instead grabbing the tamyagoyaki " No you can't have it " his eyes narrowed staring at the back of her head.

She pouts a little before huffing as she still accepted the food " ...is it your favourite or something ?" She started choking a bit when he stuffed more food in her mouth .

"Mmm I thought I just heard an insect buzzing " his voice had lowered it had a dangerous edge to it.

She shivers shrinking before nodding lightly , with as much energy as she could " Mhm mhm must be a mosquito..eheh.."

He rolls his eyes letting her go now as he place down the chopsticks " If you tell anyone this...I will hang you from a tree and leave you there for 3 days. " He flicks her forehead as he helped her stand up.

She whines lightly rubbing her head as she shifts in place before letting out a light huff as she moved the clothing she wore to cover herself more " ...yes sir " she looks to the side pouting .

"Hmph...I have an umbrella you can use so you can go shopping....what are those on your ears ?" He frowned as he distinctly remembered them being bare .

"Ah well I'm pretty sure they're earrings " she looks at him slowly as she was slightly hunched over .

"...where did you get them ?" 

"...uuhmm...Rengoku-san bought them for me ...last night " she lightly itches her cheek looking to the side .

He blinked slowly. Once .Twice . He then rubbed the bridge of his nose " . .so you can...transport yourself ...anywhere ?" He just decided to ignore that fact. 

She nods a little as her eyes close a bit " Mhmm I can, it's more affective in the night or in pure darkness though  ..unfortunately I will feel really sore in the morning thankfully I trained enough to make sure it doesn't bother me as much ." 

"You...train ?" He looked at her silently scanning her up and down,  but because of her clothes he couldn't really tell if she was just messing with him or it was true.

"Yea I train , I'm pro hero I have to be prepared for any attack and stay strong to help the civilians " she grins lightly as she walked after him since he was making his way to the back .

"Right so what is a pro hero anyway...I understand it but not quite a lot " he made a huff as he slid open the shoji to go out into the training ground.

She watches curiously as she went down the steps then sat on the bottom step " Well we protect the innocents from villains and...we are people that others look up to ...its a dangerous job ..but its worth it " she nods as she lays her head on her knees while watching as he took out his blade to start training. 

"Hmm..like us I guess but you are recognised by the government ...so its easier compared to now ", he seemed frustrated at that fact as he swung his blade in a repetitive motion.

"Well yea...it would be weird...though I have to say I have heard of you guys but...from a book I saw once...very old , i thought it was a story " she chuckles as she remembered when she snuck into the hidden section to cure her boredom " ...but from what I can see...it seems like everything in the book was real ...I am curious of the author as well , who knows I might actually meet him." 

He paused for a moment before continuing his training " So that means...no one is aware of what has happened ...well its better that way " he shook his head.

" I guess so ...just thinking of a single demon existing in my time period...from what I've seen they would slaughter so many people ...and since we don't kill villains ...well there would be more trouble than there should " she shivers at the thought as she hugged herself .

"Mm right, are you going to just sit there gawking or start training ...I'm going to make sure you can actually walk instead of looking like a fool out in the sun " he glares in her direction.

Her eyes slowly widen "...h..huh ?"

"Run around my estate a hundred times , if you stop for even a moment I will give you a reason to move " he grinned at her with his sword glinting

She gulps softly as it felt like she was staring at the devil .....she felt tears drip down her face as she got up and started to lightly jog, already feeling like she was going to melt. 

How unlucky she is.
