Endlessly in front of my eyes...

"No, no, that cannot be right. I refuse to believe what you say. I killed you with my own bare hands. What other proof do I need?" Yoohyeon mumbles softly before JiU reaches out to her.

"You don't have to believe me, but you deserve to know the truth."

"Magic is your truth? Is that what you're saying?"

JiU chuckles slightly.

"Those are brave words coming from you, Yoohyeon. What's that little necklace doing around your neck?"

Yoohyeon blushes before gently tucking the necklace into the collar of her dress.

"It's a curse, like the magic that I have."

"Magic is only a curse if you let it control you, Yooh."

"Stop calling me that!" Yoohyeon snaps, and JiU pulls her hand away from her friend.

JiU tilts her head at Yoohyeon.

"Are we not friends?"

Yoohyeon looks off in the distance before sighing.

"Not anymore, I'm afraid."

JiU sighs softly before slowly fading out of sight.

"I'll leave you to do what you please, Yoohyeon. Don't make me regret coming to see you."

Yoohyeon lets out a sigh of relief as JiU's ghost complete disappears.

Finally, I've got some well-deserve peace and quiet. Now, I can think in peace.

She hums a soft tune as she picks up her to-do list that she haphazardly threw on the floor earlier.

But how does one cleanly remove a magician from the equation? That's an answer I'd love to discover.

Yoohyeon places the paper on her desk before sighing.

I need rest first. If I am to think properly, I need to be less distracted by ghosts in front of my eyes. A bit of good sleep should help me accomplish that goal.

You pull away from Dami as you softly exhale.

I have to say something because these lies between us are eating away at me.

"Dami, we need to talk." You stern say.

Dami hums before staring into your eyes.

"About what?"

"Why have you been lying to me for so long?"

Dami sighs before pinching the bridge of her nose with her fingers.

"I didn't mean to, Y/N. My parents said it was best if you didn't know about magic, and before I knew it, one lie turned into a thousand."

"Was everything a lie?" You mumble softly before gently untying the cloak from your shoulders.

"No, Y/N, I trust you with the world, I jus-"

"Then, why won't you tell me anything?!?" You yell before throwing the cloak at the wall.

You watch in slow-motion as the cloak passes straight through the wall.

Oh my god! How did I do that?

Dami quietly stares at the spot where the cloak went the wall before turning to you. She reaches out to you, but you immediately stand up.

"Don't touch me, please. I don't know what's going on, and I don't want to hurt you."

You nervously cross your arms before nervously pacing around the room.

Dami defies your words and stands up.

"Y/N, listen to me. You need to calm down because if you don't, things are about to get a lot worse."

You stop before looking back at her.

I can't do this without her. No matter how much she's lied to me, Dami's the only person I can turn to.

Tears start to fall from your face as your body starts to shake.

I'm scared, and I don't know what to do.

"Dami, I'm scared! I don't recognize one of my closest friends, another one of my friends just came and visited me from beyond the grave, and the one person that I thought I could trust has been lying to me for my whole life!"

With clenched fist, you grit your teeth as waves of anger and sadness wash over you.

Dami slowly approaches you before extending a hand to you.

"Y/N, hear me out, okay? I just want what's best for you. That's all I've ever wanted from the day we became friends."

You inch away from her before shaking your head.

"How do you know what's best for me?"

Dami sighs before looking down.

"You're right; I don't know. Everything that you've said about me is right, Y/N. I'm a liar, and a horrible one at that. I spent so much time thinking that I was protecting you with my lies, but I was just protecting my lies, along with my feelings from you. I need to be better for you, Y/N, because you deserve better after everything you've been through."

"After everything we've been through." You correct Dami before sniffling. "I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we've done some pretty shit things to each other. I knew you were hurting from everything that happened, but I pretended like you didn't hurt because you didn't show it. I made everything about me, me, me."

"I'm sorry about everything, Y/N."

You wipe a tear from your face before looking at Dami.

"I'm sorry too."

Dami glances up from the floor to look you in the eyes.

"There isn't going to be any more secrets between us. Whatever you want to know, you can know."

You raise an eyebrow at her.

"Really?"

"I promise, Y/N. I just need you to trust me."

Dami gestures to her still-extended hand, and you immediately grab her hand.

"I trust you with all of my heart, and I promise to be a better friend and lover to you."

Dami takes her other hand, and she gently places it on your face. She softly caresses your cheek while staring you in the eyes. You smile at her gesture, and you lean into her touch before closing your eyes.

"Can we pretend like all of this was a bad dream?" You mumble, and Dami chuckles softly.

"I'd like to, but I think we have to address the fact that you just broke the laws of physics by throwing a cloak through a wall."

You sigh softly before giggling.

"I had a feeling you were going to say that."
