Then I heard a voice

Tenth grade is starting today and I don't know what to wear. I still have to eat and Mirabel would be here soon. I don't have the nicest outfit options, but I narrowed it down to two outfits, a long classic red skirt with a white blouse with colourful flowers embroidered around the neck or a comfortable outfit consisting of an oversized tee and some high-waisted denim shorts. I glanced at the time realizing I only have 5 minutes till Mirabel would be here "Shit, I thought, I have to pick something quickly. Come on Y/N think. The skirt pick the skirt have to make a good impression, but how would that make a good impression I've known the majority of these people my whole life. Ok, ok I'll wear the skirt, I dress comfortably too often and I need to change it up".

Once quickly changed I paired my outfit with some nice sandales and some jewelry. I heard a knock at the door so I sprinted down the staircase, grabbing a hand full of food from the kitchen while passing by and saying goodbye to my father. "Bye papa, see you later," "Ok have a good day at school today," "Will do". As I said that I thought "Who has fun at school?"

As I opened the door I see Mirabel and Camilo. "Hey Y/N, how's it going?" "I'm good, you?" "I'm fine, Camilo begged me to let him walk with us so I let him come, hope that's alright with you," as she said that Camilo elbowed her in the side and I let out a little giggle. "I don't mind, I like how he had to beg to see me more outside of school". I still regret telling Mirabel about my teenie tiny crush on her shapeshifting cousin. When I do spend time with Camilo we mostly just fool around teasing each other.

My father didn't really like me hanging out with him for one because he was a boy, but two because he had a gift, he didn't mind Mirabel cause she didn't have a gift. My father is strict, but I always bend the rules without him knowing. We were getting close to our school and Camilo said "Hopefully we all get a couple of classes together". We didn't go to the biggest school so we usually the three of us had a lot of classes together. " Yeah we usually do though and we can see each other in between classes and during lunch," Mirabel answered and I agreed with her, as we walked inside we started to head towards the gym where everyone was. There were quite a few girls staring at Camilo, but what am I gonna do about it he was quite attractive.

Soon we all got our schedules and started comparing them. The majority of our classes were together. We were headed to our first class, but we got interrupted, Camilo's only ex who was still in love with him came up to us "Hey girls and Camilo, as she said that she was looking at him all lovey dovey, you're all invited to my start of a school party at my house and my parents won't be chaperoning, but you're parents don't have know. It starts at 9 and you guys know where I live so byee". Mirabel told us that she had to get to her class and left.

"I don't know how you ever liked that girl she's so," "So what, Y/N," "It's not something you describe Camilo you understand," "Not really.. ," but before he could finished I interrupted him " Oh my lockers right here," I dumped the majority of my stuff in and Camilo said "Oh mine is right next to yours now I have a reason to see you in between each class," "Yeah, I guess. Do you know what classroom we have to go to now?" "No, but we should hurry the bell is going to ring soon," "Right, I think it's that way," pointing in some direction we started walking in.

We got there right on time and the new teacher introduced himself. I sat next to Camilo. Although Camilo and Mirabel had a few friends outside of our friend group I barely had any so I spent most of my time with them. I felt quite a few eyes on the two of us, even though they were majorly on him, I caught him staring at me and we quietly laughed. The rest of the morning was boring. It was finally lunch and Mirabel and I found Camilo and went to sit at out tree. "Fuck I forgot my lunch and money at home," Camilo told us "I think I have a bit of cash in my locker. I'll be back in a second," "Thank you Camilo,"

"You should ask him to Crystal's party tonight," Mirabel is always trying to find ways to get us together alone so we can confess our feelings to each other. "I forgot about the party, I don't even know what I'm gonna wear yet alone who I'm gonna dance with or whatever. If someone asks me I'll probably dance with them, but I can't ask Camilo too," "So your saying if he asked you would say yes," "Yes, wait, I don't know. Shut up he's back," "Y/N your money," he did some sort of courtesy as he handed it to me "Oh my, my knight in shining armour saved me from hunger," I pretended to faint as I took it and put my other hand to my forehead as he caught me. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna get some food and go to my locker," I noticed when I said locker Camilo blushed. I didn't think anything of it and walked away.

I got some chicken tenders and fries from the cafeteria they had pretty good food most of the time. When I opened my locker a note fell out that said "Open right before leaving school" I was quite intrigued and wanted to open it really badly. When I got back Camilo stared at me up and down. I started blushing and sat down next to him I shared my food with him to thank him for it . And we were jokingly feeding each other fries although I wished we weren't joking. I felt quite a few people staring at us, but I didn't mind.

Mirabel pointed out that the bell was going to ring soon so we all went to our lockers and headed to class together. I was counting down the minutes till the end of the day so I could read the letter. I was a tiny bit suspicious of what it was going to be, but still had absolutely no idea what it was going to be. The final bell finally rang me and Mirabel walked over to my locker and met Camilo there. I didn't know how I was going to read it because I wanted to read it privately at school. As we left the school I told them "Shit, I think I dropped something over there, I'll catch up with you guys later," I went back to the front of the school and read the letter I gasped then I heard a voice
